2006 Suzuki V-Strom 1000, The Suzuki V-Strom DL1000 Adventure Bike is one of the ALL-TIME GREAT combinations of durability, comfort, performance, reliability, fun, capability, and design. It features a 98 HP water-cooled V-twin known for its smoothness, simplicity, low-maintenance, durability, and usable torque (74.5 ft. lbs.) which peaks at 4000 RPM, right where you need it to power out of situations in just about any gear. The comfortable upright seating position, upgraded gel touring seat with cover refurbished by Sargent, a 5.8 gallon fuel tank (good for 250 miles), and wind protection from a V-Stream windshield with Madstad height and angle adjuster, will have you spending days exploring the back roads without pain. The bike will still handle and haul, with a top speed of 140 MPH, and the quarter mile in the 11's on regular gas! How many V-twins can do that? Its steel frame makes it easy to repair on the road to Alaska. The bike is the lightest 1000cc adventure bike at only 458 lbs. dry, so it's at home in the city or on your favorite fire road. Many extras include a top case, a tank bag, a throttle lock, cushioned grips, an extra set of mirrors, a flashing headlight for daytime safety, a flashing brake light, and a oil filter mount that takes automotive filters at 1/3 the cost of the OEM model. The pea-shooter exhaust tips have been removed for a slightly deeper growl without the excessive noise of an after-market pipe. It has a reusable K&N air filter, and the chain, sprockets, and plugs were swapped at 18k miles. The foot pegs have been lowered for more leg comfort, but there is still plenty of cornering clearance. It has mirror extenders and a removable, lockable top case with a passenger backrest for your sweetie. I fitted frame sliders for engine protection The engine is smooth at idle and cruising speed and has a 6th gear overdrive for the freeway. The bike has never been in an accident and is rock stable at speed. As the bike sits, it is configured for an average to taller rider; however, you can order an OEM lowered seat as an option and the suspension can be lowered with aftermarket parts and the shocks adjust to suit your comfort, baggage, and passenger requirements. In other words, it's a pleasure to ride! Electronic fuel injection assures instant start-up and smooth, economical operation. I average between 40-42 MPG in normal riding. Quaker State Motorcycle Oil was changed every 2000 miles with new filters. The long-wearing, upgraded Bridgestone Battle Wing tires are ready to take you to your next great adventure. The Vee has 24k easy-ridden street miles, but it's also capable of navigating some dirt, sand, gravel, and fire roads. This bike will hold its value! KBB and NADA put it in the $5,000.+ range, but is has plenty of upgrades and relatively low mileage. Adventure awaits! $4,495.00
