It's scooter weather! But I'm moving away, and it's time to downsize. This is a great little Italian scooter, similar to an Aprilia or Piaggio. It's got a 50 cc engine (actually 49 cc), so you don't need a motorcycle endorsement on your driver's license to ride it (at least, not here in Washington state). The small engine is technically supposed to limit the top speed to about 40 mph, but I've gotten this up to 50 mph on a flat straightaway just fine. I got this scooter in 2011, and it wasn't running. Here's what's been done to it since: - Total carburetor overhaul - New seat upholstery - New mirrors - Fixed wiring issues - Sandblasted and powder-coated the spoke wheels - New battery - New brake lever - Re-keyed for ignition and seat compartment - All body panels removed, cleaned, and painted flat black Everything is in great running condition now, it looks good, and it's a lot of fun to ride. It's got a 2-cycle engine (Morini, if you're interested), so it runs on a gas/oil mixture. You don't have to pre-mix it - just put 2-cycle oil in the oil reservoir and gas in the tank and it takes care of the mixing. It's kinda loud and a little smoky, but that's what you get with a 2-cycle engine. It's got 3600 miles, and many more to come. I'll throw in a helmet and a cover as well.
