Selling the best sport bike I've ever owned. This 2000 Aprilia RSV Mille R was the first unit that arrived at Pro Italia in 2000, and in my opinion is the finest design of the big displacement Aprilia four strokes ever made. Clean lines, narrow GP style body, very comfortable riding position, elegant round blinkers and bullet ferrari style tail lights, with no nonsense graphics and very tidy engineering of every last part. The rotax motor core and Aprilia heads make the most solid and torque-oriented motor I have ever enjoyed in a sport bike. The handling is perfectly balanced and the bike changes direction with incredible ease. These R (racing spec) bikes were not profitable for Aprilia even with a $17,000 price tag because of the full Ohlins suspension front and rear, OZ forged wheels and other upgrades that came with the limited edition bike. I also had the bike modified to enable two-passenger use, so the rear subframe was changed to the pillion type, and the easy to bolt on passenger peg mounts were procured and come with the bike, as do any parts that I upgraded, which include MOTO TECH fully adjustable rear-sets, matching forged adjustable brake and clutch levers, as well as the racing exhaust slip-on and high ZeroG windscreen. There isn't a more comfortable and better handling sport bike out there, even 15 years later. The bike was just fully serviced at Pro Italia where it received new injectors (just tired from non-use). Rubber is also quite fresh Pirelli Corsas with just one ride on them. I have always considered I would keep this bike forever, but I have so many now that I am not using it at all. It has enjoyed the last many years in the garage parked in between a Ducati Paul Smart and a 1973 Moto Guzzi V7 Sport.

Capable in town, with generous steering lock for parking lot maneuverability and surprisingly comfortable stock seat; the Aprilia RSV 1000 Millie R is easy to live with and comfortable to ride. The Aprilia RSV1000 Mille is powered by the legendary Rotax 60 degree V-twin with a high performance dry sump oil system which is usually reserved for race bikes. At low revs the V-Twin motor pulls with torquey authority which quickly builds into a muscular midrange in any gear. Top end power is smooth and immense but not insane like modern Japanese inline fours. The Aprilia RSV is known to be much more reliable compared to Ducatis of the same age. The Rotax V-Twin engine is known to be extremely reliable with high mileage not being an issue. This is one of the most durable and reliable Italian sport bikes ever made and would make an excellent track bike or comfortable street bike.

2002 APRILIA RSV, Two Brothers Racing exhaust, frame sliders.When it first appeared in 1998, Aprilia's RSV Mille surprised many with its futuristic styling and design. The firm was known to have been working on a V-twin sportsbike for several years, but the refinement of the design impressed many observers. The engine is a narrow-angle 60° V-twin, with four valves per cylinder. A pair of balance shafts reduce vibration from the motor, and a combination of gears and chains drive the double overhead camshafts in each cylinder head. Twin spark plugs give fast, efficient combustion, and an advanced fuel-injection system uses large 51mm (2in) throttle bodies to help produce the 97kW (130bhp) peak power. The narrow angle of the engine allows the aluminium twin-spar frame to be compact and stiff, for dynamic handling. It also made for a shorter engine design than a 90° V-twin, allowing a sporty, short wheelbase. High-set footpegs and the slim profile of the bike give excellent Ground Clearance, allowing the extreme cornering angles necessary for race success. The track-spec, fully adjustable suspension at both ends, gives smooth wheel response, while the steering geometry combines quick steering with good straight line stability. Early designs wore red-painted Brembo four-piston brake calipers, but later models reverted to standard gold-finished calipers. Whatever color they were, these calipers supplied class-leading performance.The RSV Mille was immediately compared with Ducati's 916, another distinctive Italian 1000cc V-twin sportsbike. While the RSV does not have the classic beauty of the red Ducati, its handling is equal to the older bike, and the RSV engine is more modern and stronger everywhere. Indeed, Ducati soon replaced the 916 with the 996, complete with a much more powerful 996cc engine. The importance of the RSV to Aprilia cannot be overstated. I have an Aprilia RSV 2001 for sale. It is a 998CC bike. I have kept it up and have most of the service records for it. I did have the engine replaced from another 2001 Aprilia. It has 12,000 miles on it. The bike itself has 22,000. Numerous parts have been replaced to include the throttle assembly, all the cables, handgrips, and turn signals. It does have frame sliders and bar ends. It does have a USB charger running from the battery. This bike is in excellent mechanical condition with some scratches on the plastics as you can see in the pictures. All work has been done by Absolute Performance here in Newport News to include the engine replacement. I just had it serviced for this riding season and had the state inspection updated.
