Custom front fender. restored rear shocks,Brand new Firestone 3.50x18 tires front and rear. complete new custom wiring harness front to back. New mini tail light converted to 6v. new 6v battery. brand new NOS benelli exhaust. Custom wheels, blue rims, black spokes, polished hubs and nipples. Runs and looks super. Clear title from the previous owner. I'm located in western pa. zip code 16113. we've been buried in snow here and I haven't had a chance to take it for a ride. I've run it through the gears on the stand and it shifts through, but is very notchy shifting. This bike runs and rides. I got it from the 2nd owner that bought it in 1972 and has started it once a month (this is reflected on the title). Everything works! no leaks. The handlebars, grips and levers are NOS and correct. The rest is all original. It needs a tail light lens. The tank has rust in it and needs to be treated. This is an all original bike, not a restoration.If you are looking at this bike then you likely know what it is... probably the only one in the WORLD that is in this condition. If you don't know; it is a 250cc single that is 100% made in Italy by Benelli, and was imported by Montgomery Wards in the 1960's. You could buy this bike in the hardware department back then. Sears also participated in this practice with their Allstate line of Puch scooters and motorbikes.This is a two-owner bike, and the original owner has passed away. I have all the original paperwork, including the 1969 California registration papers, and some other memorabilia. The plate you see is the original plate that has been accepted back into circulation by the DMV. It is not a replica. The bike itself has exactly 609 miles, 250 of those are from me riding around in vintage shows. It has been invited to the Quail Gathering as well. I have only done a few things to this bike since I got it from the old man's estate. I had the head cover professionally polished. I found a brand new header pipe. I replaced the 6v battery, tires, and horn. The original horn comes with it, but it's too heavy to ride with. I also found the original pink colored spark plugs and green fuel line. That's how they came from Italy and so that's how this bike appears today. The paint on the bike has corrosion that shows through the paint in places, and its all from the inside out. The thing about paint is that it's only original once. This is truly the first coat.This bike runs perfectly, and kick starts easily if you know how to use a left-side kickstarter. This bike is a bit different and challenging to ride because it has right-side heel-toe shifter and rear brake is on the left, like most British and European bikes of the era. It also has quite a bit of power for a 250cc, unlike the Honda's of the day that were rather revvy, this has a lot of bottom end. Its a push-rod motor with a carburetori Dell'Orto. ;-) Shipping will be about $400, and I will provide a contact.

In the 60s Wards partnered up with Benelli to sell small displacement motorcycles here in the US and for a while it was a fairly lucrative project for both. The most popular were the small 2 strokes but the larger 250 and 350 models started doing well in the later part of the decade. Today these Wards Riverside models have developed quite a cult following. The available internet forums, rallies, and parts businesses specializing in these bikes is amazing. Of all Wards/Riverside bikes, the Mojave 360 is the most interesting. The Mojave 360 is exceedingly rare with only 50 ever making it to production. These 1968s were supposedly a pilot for a planned regular production run that never materialized. Moto Benelli was also building 250cc and 350cc road bikes for Montgomery Ward at the time. These 50 Mojave 360s were intended to satisfy the AMA so that the bikes could compete in enduro competition in the United States. The frame and body work is a copy of the Rickman Matisse racing products from England, except unlike Rickman, the Benelli body parts are steel rather than fiberglass. Our Mojave's in excellent condition.
