This is an amazing find! A 2001 BMW F650GS with only about 1750 miles (might be a few more as I sometimes ride it occasionally). It's the highly-desirable, lightweight 650cc watercooled single, with electric start, fuel injection, ABS brakes, heated grips and more. It is in almost showroom condition and has never been offroad or even ridden in the rain! The red paint is as near flawless as I can see; the silver details (luggage rack, etc.) have a few minor scuffs from riders' boots contacting when mounting. I polished some out so more will clean up. The biggest flaw is a tiny scuff on the inside of the rim around the tachometer (see picture with arrow) and if I didn't mention it you'd probably have never noticed it. The throttle grip has a small chip out of the rubber, possibly from a tie-down. The tires are brand-new dual sports with the rubber tits still on them! Perfect bike for dual sport use, for around town and longer highway trips, ideal for newer riders as it's so easy to ride and the seat height is perfect for those with short legs. The perfect all-around, go-anywhere, do-anything motorcycle! Included is the touring equipment, the genuine BMW aluminum expandable panniers and the rear tour box, large enough for a full-coverage helmet or two open face helmets. There are a few minor dings in the aluminum and minor scuffs to the tour box, all from storage, not the bike falling (it's never been tipped over). All three pieces of luggage clip on and off in seconds and keys are included. The bike runs absolutely like new and is serviced and ready to ride...anywhere in the world!

Try and find a single cylinder with the Rotax engine BMW with less than 10,000 miles under $5,000. Most available have closer to 30,000 miles. With that being said this has 6,000 original factor miles on this fantastic condition as close to new Rotax engine model. You can not but these new anymore. 2001 BMW F 650 GS DAKAR, 2001 BMW F650GS Dakar with 1209 original miles, never abused, and minimally modified. I purchased this bike from the original owner a couple of years ago, with roughly 700 miles on it at the time. The bike has always been babied, garaged, and maintained. That said, I have not had that much time to ride the Dakar (obviously), but when I have, it has always been awesome. Great sounds, wonderful riding position, and a lot of fun both on and off road. In the time that I have had the bike, I have done the following: A&S "The Big One" service kit installed Shorai lithium ion battery w/ charger/keeper EBC front brake rotor DID gold chain PIAA's with custom mounts that I made (without modification to the motorcycle) SW-Motech center stand Dunlop 606 tires with about 150 miles on them. I also removed the majority of the decals that originally came on the bike (personal taste), I painted the gauge surround and windshield matte black, and also removed the skid plate/belly pan. Included with the bike are new fork seals (uninstalled), the original brake rotor, the skid plate/belly pan. a Nelson-Rigg lightweight cover, and a very comprehensive service and repair CD. The Dakar is cosmetically and mechanically excellent, with only one tiny mark on the bodywork, left of the headlight and one on the same side, but positioned at the saddle line, and practically unseen. Both are about the size of 1/2 a TicTac or less. Otherwise, I cannot imagine a nicer 2001 Dakar that has actually been ridden. This motorcycle is the real deal, a true collectors piece. This has been a great bike with no problems whatsoever. I purchased the bike in Napa, CA in 2012 with 6k on the odometer, and have ridden it sparingly since then, primarily tarmac and forest roads (50/50); it currently has about 14k on the odometer. All service has been completed on time by certified BMW mechanics, although these bikes just don't require very much in that regard. There are two minor blemishes; a slightly cracked rear mud guard shown in a photo, and a slight ding in the left side of the fuel tank.
