beautiful 1973 750cc toaster tank this bike is restored to look and run like new.it needs nothing.not quite concours but excellent in every way.no dents ,scratches or any obvious blemishes. if you examine it carefully you will see a few tiny marks but you have to be looking for them to notice.the seat is new.the tires are excellent and brakes also.everything works.there are no noticeable oil leaks.the fork boots are good.oil and filter just changed.carbs cleaned and synchronized.it looks like new and rides like new ready to ride anywhere.a really good 750.super reliable and a very classy ride.buyer pays shipping or can pick up on site.

1970 BMW R-Series 1970 BMW R75/5 (SWB)

1970 BMW R75/5 (SWB) I am the 3rd owner of this gorgeous bike, that spent its entire life in Louisiana until April of 2016. It had only 13k miles on it, and now has 15k. It was running well when I got it, but It's now had extensive restoration work, including but not only, new Omega charging system, battery, seals, fluids, lines, carbs rebuilt, brakes, RaceTech front suspension, Hagon rear shocks, low euro bars, kick stand springs, original style center stand, and more... I have all of the receipts from the items that are listed, and most of the receipts and records for repairs from the BMW shops in Louisiana over the course of its entire life, as well as original manuals and a Clymer Airhead manual. It was a nice bike when I got it, but now it's really something special! Sad to let her go after all this, but not in a position to have a bike at this moment.

The 750 cc motor on this bike runs strong. Kick and electric start, 4-speed transmission. Newer tires. Complete tool kit. Gas tank is "toaster style" from 1971. Low beams only, (perhaps the switch). Speedometer works as well as the tach, but the tach needle is missing. Small repair in front fender. The horn is missing... it has a repaired crack in the headlight lens. Original leather saddle bags with passenger hand holds. Kickstand is good but center stand could use repair. The seat has a small rip on the left rear (see photo) Currently registered and clean title & recently riden. Matching numbers. Does not leak oil. For more information.... I am selling my beloved 73 Beemer. This airhead has not been restored but has alway been taken care of and runs good. On a scale of 1-10 . Ten being new condition this bike is a strong 8. It has never been dropped or crashed. Tires are newish Metzlers which are the quintessential motorcycle tires. Seat is original and excellent. No fluid leaks. Paint is original factory color BMW 36 All numbers are matching. 1973 was the last year for kick start and electric start combined. It was imported from Europe by the original owner who had the bike for 33 years. Has a number of rare accessories like the head lamp guard and chrome mount for luggage. BMW : R-Series Restored 1972 R75/5 BMW Cafe Racer with 74 Velorex Sidecar and Aluminum trailer

So this is the story on this bike. It is currently sitting in a shipping container ready to be shipped to Belize where I moved last August. It has been sitting like this since last Feb 2015 when I was supposed to get it shipped. I just came back in the country Friday to get this stuff shipped out, and I have had a change of heart. Belize is not the place to have a really really nice cycle and expect to keep it that way. I think it would be best for me to sell the bike with the parts and the 06 Aluminum trailer that it sits on. I want to sell these as a package to make more room in the container for other items and to pay off some property taxes up here. I believe that this bike would better kept and maintained in the states. I have a recently fully restored from the ground up in 2013. Its a 72 BMW 75/5 cafe racer. It has the matching restored 74 Velorex Sidecar with BMW Tags both have new seating and custom matching paint job. I have the parts to convert the bike to a /2 front end for permanent sidecar conversion. The /2 fork ans shocks alone will cost you almost $2000 if you can get your hands on a willing seller. I have lots of extra parts like the windshield, and the correct handlebars to convert to a sidecar rider. I also have a 75lb balister that came with the sidecar but was removed during the restoration by the builder. And more parts that I cant remember. I have a long swing for the rear to make the rear wheel stick out more past the seat. The seat is made for 1 up riding for you and someone else or looks great as a single rider. There is a storage space under the seat and I have some new tools under there. The side car is ready to go, but does not ride good with the short cafe racer handle bars that I have on there now. I have the correct expensive handlebar to make it work properly with the sidecar. The trailer is about 18 ft long and is aluminum and weighs about 500lbs. I don't have time to sell off everything in parts but at this price you are still getting a great deal and have lots of options. The bike is in a container in Upper Marlboro Md at a friends property. I will try to get out there to take pics of it in the container on the trailer. But my wallet was stolen in Belize in August and I have to try to get a new license tomorrow to rent a car to get out there. For sale is a nice running R75/5 SWB (short wheel base) "toaster tank" model. I found this bike many years ago. No idea what real mileage is. It was left outside for a while with a cover, and therefore required a bit of work, including carbs rebuilt, new rings, points and overall maintenance. I installed brand new header pipes and finned nuts. Mufflers were just fine. It runs really well now.Electric start works perfectly, and starts the engine instantly. It shifts well, and rides quite comfortably. I put a brand new set of Hagon shocks on it. It also has a brand new seat....the whole seat, pan, grab rail and all...not just a cover. Also has new tires, and a nicely polished front alloy wheel. The rear rim is chromed steel and has some surface rust on it. Has a new air filter and spark plug cables with proper resistor plug caps. This bike would make a great restoration project for someone who doesn't want to get into rebuilding the engine or transmission, or just run it as is for a reliable everyday bike. Plenty of parts sources available for these, including here on e-bay. Original tail light assembly comes with the bike. This is a nice running machine.This is a milestone BMW in that it is the first model with the low camshaft that was to follow all the their subsequent boxer engines. Make a reasonable offer.

IT will need a inline fuel filter and bowl gasket for one carburetor has leak when it sitting. front disk brake has no fluid in it will need to be serviced. tank has slight area where gas has spilled on it. this has made a spot ion the paint. tank also has some scratches but no dents. scratch on ear headlight mount. tire will need to be changed. This is a great vintage motorcycle with a little tlc this bike would be show ready.
