We also took off the 2 into 1 header and installed nice used OEM headers and new OEM replica /5 ? cigar tip? style mufflers. the Tank and front fender have been repainted and hand pinstripped as original. the previous owner had installed a 5 speed transmission instead of fixing the rumbling bearings on the stock 4 speed. There are shallow imperfections on both items not immediately noticeable until the light hits it just right. We chose to also leave those items like that. This blows it up to maximum size (about 6 times window size) and you can use the scroll bars to move around your view point like your eye is 2 feet from the bike. We resealed the left cylinder as the pushrod tube seals were leaking; the right is in good condition. While we were there we retrofitted fuse holders because BMW did not have them that year. http://picturepush.com/+zFpT Click on one of the thumbnail photos on the left to see it larger on the right. While we were there we removed the clutch and cleaned up the friction disc and replaced the outer pressure plate with a resurfaced one. the clutch splines were also lubed at that point. the flaws: Before Powdercoating the previous owner failed to have the metal perfect on 2 items the headlight bucket and the right headlight mount. the previous owner recovered the seat with a new stock style cover with passenger grab strap and he painted the seat pan. Then scroll down to the bottom right and click on the word ? Full? . We installed a new ignition switch and replaced the cracked circuit board with a good used one and straightened out the rewiring errors made by the previous owner. the Title is clear. It has had the frame subframe swingarm centerstand headlight mount ears headlight bucket and front turn signal mounts powdercoated in gloss black. We picked out a nice low mileage used 4 speed transmission opened it up and inspected and resealed it and reinstalled it in the bike. Deep Major Service (10K) + Cosmetic restoration. the Cosmetic restoration was started by one owner continued by the next owner and finally finished by us. We finished with an end-to-end 10K Service and a 1000 mile test ride to be sure everything was PERFECT (alright it was just so nice that we just wanted to ride it for a while!). the engine frame and neck badge numbers all match. We installed a new improved reed style engine crankcase breather valve. If you would like to take this bike out on a test ride please plan it for a dry day and call 24 hours ahead to schedule. Additional cosmetic detail work was done to bring the bike up to an attractive whole. We also installed a new gasket to reseal the oil pan. We took over the project when the previous owner was stumped with properly replacing the electrical connections necessary after having the headlight bucket powdercoated and by the jetting / carburetor problems caused by dirty carburetors and the attempt to install a 2 into 1 header instead of replacing the exhaust system with a new original style system. 1970 BMW R75/5 (SWB) I am the 3rd owner of this gorgeous bike, that spent its entire life in Louisiana until April of 2016. It had only 13k miles on it, and now has 15k. It was running well when I got it, but It's now had extensive restoration work, including but not only, new Omega charging system, battery, seals, fluids, lines, carbs rebuilt, brakes, RaceTech front suspension, Hagon rear shocks, low euro bars, kick stand springs, original style center stand, and more... I have all of the receipts from the items that are listed, and most of the receipts and records for repairs from the BMW shops in Louisiana over the course of its entire life, as well as original manuals and a Clymer Airhead manual. It was a nice bike when I got it, but now it's really something special! Sad to let her go after all this, but not in a position to have a bike at this moment.

For sale is a nice running R75/5 SWB (short wheel base) "toaster tank" model. I found this bike many years ago. No idea what real mileage is. It was left outside for a while with a cover, and therefore required a bit of work, including carbs rebuilt, new rings, points and overall maintenance. I installed brand new header pipes and finned nuts. Mufflers were just fine. It runs really well now.Electric start works perfectly, and starts the engine instantly. It shifts well, and rides quite comfortably. I put a brand new set of Hagon shocks on it. It also has a brand new seat....the whole seat, pan, grab rail and all...not just a cover. Also has new tires, and a nicely polished front alloy wheel. The rear rim is chromed steel and has some surface rust on it. Has a new air filter and spark plug cables with proper resistor plug caps. This bike would make a great restoration project for someone who doesn't want to get into rebuilding the engine or transmission, or just run it as is for a reliable everyday bike. Plenty of parts sources available for these, including here on e-bay. Original tail light assembly comes with the bike. This is a nice running machine. This is a milestone BMW in that it is the first model with the low camshaft that was to follow all the their subsequent boxer engines. Make a reasonable offer.

Both original BMW Cigar shaped /5 mufflers are rotting out on the bottom. the rear of seat has tape patch; needs re-covered. Bike has a tool tray no tool kit. 1972 BMW R 75 , I am the 4th owner of this 1972 BMW R75/5 SWB. Primarily used as a commuter, the engine is in immaculate working order and I have kept a record of all regular and scheduled maintenance, parts, etc. I have done my best to keep the bike as close to vintage as possible, however the aesthetics are concurrent with is age and milage. The bike has been laid down 3 times to my knowledge, but has not sustained any major damage. As with most vintage bikes, it requires regular maintenance to keep it reliable. The bike comes with a complete tool roll, a set of vintage saddle bags, US (high) and European (low) handlebars, and a two sets of crash bars. Also included are all manuals and literature, parts, and consumables (spark plugs, oil filters, etc.) that I have for the bike. A vintage fairing is available, but not included as it is currently located out-of-state. Questions are always welcome. Thanks for looking. $5,000.00

1973 BMW R75/5 w/ Sidecar + Wixom bags & fairing - Fantastic daily running shape. & a perfect addition to any motor enthusiast's collection. This is a rare find, an absolute gem. The bike is a '73 BMW R75/5 SWB (short wheel base) in black. The sidecar is an Easyrider in black with matching pin-stripes. The Odo reads 51,3XX but, it was TOTAL Restoration, completely rebuilt from the ground-up in 2010/11. Conveniently I have a blog-site of the entire rebuild for your reading pleasure: - please message me for the link -(This was not my rebuild, I am only aware of this page from the previous owner). Some facts/extras: /5 body and R75 motor with a /6 5 speed transmission and rear differential. (this helps a ton with the sidecar. The power is smooth throughout with an empty or full sidecar. Unit Forks brand "Earls style" fork. R90 dual disc front wheel/brake Car battery installed in sidecar (in place of stock battery). Tons of crank! OEM Wixom bags and fairing! Rare! Original toolkit + Manual Comes with a box of extras including rear rack, spare clutch cable, spare sidecar tube, spare air filter and tons of other parts from the rebuild. I'll include the matching pin-striped half helmet w/ BMW logo. This bike is not perfect, it has a couple little scuffs and nicks here and there, but that's what i love about it. You don't feel bad riding it ALL THE TIME, and it still looks great. This bike gets ALL of the attention anywhere you go. Starts up and runs smooth every single time. I've never had a hiccup in the year I've been riding it. I would consider it to be in great/excellent condition for it's age. I hate to see it go but i need to get back on 2 wheels and am looking to trade into a BMW F800 or Tiger 800 and I can't afford both. If this bike speaks to you it'll be worth every penny. Title is in my hand.
