SOLD.....'84 R80ST. Red. Fresh 10K Service. #6207800 1984 BMW R80ST, Red. VERY Rare! Only 6,000 Miles. Dual-Sport or Ultimate Twisty road bike. The 1984 BMW R80ST was the second, and last, year of production. Originally conceived as a street version of their very popular R80GS, it was truly a bike before it?s time. Less than 1,500 were produced the first year, and about 2,000 the second, making this the rarest BMW every produced! A BMW this rare is destined to appreciate in value yearly. With Dual purpose tires it is an excellent bad road / back road / fire trail bike, with 6.7? ground clearance it easily handles minor obsticales, yet it?s not so tall that you need to be 6?4? to put both feet down. With street tires it makes a very torquey twisty road bike that is an absolute blast to ride. Weighing in at only 436 pounds with a full tank of gas, and a wheel base of less than 57?, it is effortless to throw it through corner anfer corner of the crookedist road you can find. If that road is patched and lumpy and full of potholes, no problem! Bring it on! The rear monoshock handles it with ease! Need to get down the road on the freeway? The engine smoothes out even more the faster you go, and the bike never wants to wobble! We have just finished going over the bike front to back, making sure everything is straight and perfect. We also just performed the BMW Factory Recommended 10,000 mile service early, because the bike had been in storage for several years. Now it just needs a new owner to put decades of fun filled miles on it. There is a tool tray, but no tool kit. The bike has a pair of ignition keys, and another pair for the seat lock. The fuel cap does not have a key (it?s unlocked). The paint is bright and shiny, but there are a few scratches and pinstripe wear. The aluminum is clean and bright. The exhaust is in very good condition. The dual sport tires are showing some wear, but still have good safe life in them. If you want new tires before you pick up the bike, premium tires can be added for $300.00 including mount and balance. The bike is very stock and original, except for the rear subframe, which has been powdercoated, instead of painted.
