2005 BMW R 1200 GS, Up for sale is my main ride for the last seven years. This was my fourth GS, (I just bought my 5th, so this one has to go). I purchased it from a friend in our club in 2007 with 6K miles on the clock, then rolled up 44,000 more happy miles of my own. It has led a pampered life in a heated, air-conditioned garage surrounded by three brothers (1981 R80G/S, 1974 Moto Guzzi Eldorado and 1966 Triumph TR6). EXTRAS BMW extras include cross spoke wheels, switchable ABS, trip computer and heated grips. Ive added PIA 510 fog lamps, Touratech Headlamp Protector, GS Adventure wind deflectors (they really quiet wind flow), a removable Laminar Lip for the stock screen (I also have a taller Cee Baily that Ill throw in), Garmin Nuvi GPS, Bark Buster hand guards, an Eastern Beaver fuse board (for accessories) bar risers, and a set of keyed luggage (2) (Vario side cases in excellent condition). MAINTENANCE I have all the service records and parts bills going back to the first 600 mile checkup. Please note that when I retired five years ago I took over the valve adjustments, oil changes and throttle body synch in my home workshop and have kept a log of all of them. Last service was done at 47,500 with fresh Metzler Tourance Next tires installed. There is a small scratch on the lower right valve cover (gas station tip over) but its almost unnoticeable, there are no other blemishes on the bike and everything works as it should. AUTHORIZED WORK The ECU (BMSK) failed at 27K and was replaced by BMW. The transmission output shaft seal and boot was replaced by Max BMW at 45K, the brake and clutch fluids flushed at 49,385 miles and the fuel pump replaced under a BMW Motorrad recall at the same time. Max Stratton of Max BMW personally re-flashed my ECU last year, which gave the bike a noticeable power boost, but more importantly greatly improved running at small throttle openings where I spend most of my time anyway. New battery installed at 46K (April 2014). SUMMING IT UP This is a lot of bike for the money (the new ones are twenty grand), and they are known for their longevity. Pickup and shipping costs are the responsibility of the buyer. $500 non-refundable deposit to my PayPal account holds the bike More Pictures here: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/7s93kp4uovbhpn6/AACSH54o6mbtd_99yV9r1ZEVa?dl=0 $6,995.00
