Offered for sale is a 1982 BMW R65LS with an interesting sotory. This machine was purchased new in NJ in 1982, and the first owner rode it until 1990, when it was parked. It then sat for the next 25 years. It was purchased by a BMW collector in MD a few years later, and he had it in his collection until a few years ago when I found it. I'm now looking at purchasing an R100CS, and as always I am bike rich and cash poor, so I need to adjust my own small collection to make room, The R65LS has always had a cult following, and for good reason - they are a blast to ride! You can flick them around like you just can't do with a larger BMW. Owners of the early R80G/S models will know just what I'm talking about. In the last 5 years the prices on these bikes have more than doubled, but here is you chance to get a nice bike at a decent price. This is a matching engine & frame serial number bike, with clear matching number title. The machine was drained of all fluids and the battery ages ago, and has been sitting, and has not been run in that time. Over the years from sitting the rings are stuck, so the new owner will have to replace them along with the other chores needed to get this bike back on the road. Please ask all questions before bidding. Payment is expected within 7 days of auction end, and pickup/shipment is expected within 30 days of auction end. Overseas sales are fine, but I cannot help with shipping estimates. Please have your funds lined up before you bid. Ebay no longer gives a credit for a buyer who does not complete a purchase, so this can get expensive very fast. Sorry, no Paypal. Good luck!

The R100 was offered in two versions for 1982 through 1984, the Touring and the Sport. Both were to the same specification except that Touring meant standard saddlebags and Sport, CS sport handlebar fairing and lower bars – just like the R90S! Such is the interchangeability of many BMW components some R100s were dealer "enhanced", often effectively changing one model into another at the dealership. Both factory versions weighed close to 481lb wet with a top speed of 110mph. Only 193 R100s reached America's shore in 1984 and by the next model year the new K-model was all the rage and no 1,000c boxer twins were imported. Thus, this R100 is a rare example of BMW's iconic, big air-cooled boxer. Only 37,000 original miles recorded on the odometer and a very nice low mileage original paint one owner motorcycle that has been well maintained and serviced since new. Only 37,000 original miles recorded on the odometer and in excellent running condition. 980cc opposed twin cylinder with a five speed foot shift transmission along with a dealer installed "CS" bikini fairing and rear luggage rack.
