The bike is triple matching vin (Frame, Title, and Engine) 1964 /2. The R50 is well known as one of the smoothest and most reliable vintage motorcycles. Purchased from a long time East Coast collector who has owned the bike since new in 1964. This bike has only had two owners, the original owner and myself. I purchased it several years ago out of a probate sale in Connecticut. The bike arrived completely restored but had not been ridden in about 15yrs. Following delivery to San Francisco was sent in for maintenance from a shop that specializes in /2. Starts easily usually with one kick even with cold starts. Once started will quickly idle smoothly. Runs wonderfully silent. Its an incredible elegant machine. The brake shoes (front and back) serviced. Re-torqued all nuts and bolts on the bike. The wiring and lights are all functional. The valves have been gapped to spec. Ignition and timing have been service. New spark plugs. Cleaned/Re-built both carburetors with new gaskets. Serviced horn. New fuel lines Oil was changed. (Engine, transmission, driveshaft, and final drive). All the cables are new. There is zero oxidation or rust on the bike. The rims are the much sought after aluminum. They are stunningly shinny. There are beautifully bits or chrome around the bike including the triple-tree for the forks. The black power-coated paint on the fenders and gas tank is in fantastic condition and pin-striping will make any collector smile. All the locks and original keys work perfectly. The tires are Avon and have about 500 miles on them. The tires are much smoother to ride around turns verses the period 'Flat-walled' tires that come on Vintage bikes. The Avon’s seem to make the bike float around turns. This is the Euro model and comes with the Earles Forks front end instead of the US standard telescoping forks. Looks so much cooler and more collectable. Of course comes with the original Euro bars with headlight mirrors.. Thank You and God Bless America

The bike was restored by a late BMW expert mechanic. His name was John Flick. This BMW R60/2 is finished in black with white pinstriping and comes from the final year of production. It was restored under my ownership 3 years ago (means restoration is recent) and I have only had to service with the occasional oil change. I bought the bike 17 years ago from the original owner and it was more or less a show bike when I bought the bike. Power is from the numbers-matching 594cc opposed-twin, which is paired with a 4-speed manual gearbox. Equipment includes a low-rise handlebars, aluminum rims, and a bench seat. A tune-up and oil change were performed in January 2019. Clean and clear title in my name.

This bike has been professionally built for the off-road and to travel the world. (I was going to take it to Argentina but retirement plans have changed) The suspension, rims, to the skid plate, on and on is all top quality. I have spent over $7500 on the add-ons and that does not include the labor for all the installation. The bike has less than 10,000 miles on it and the oil has been changed every 3K, I have gone through it recently the valves are in check. I am only selling it because I have to many bikes. Comes with the boxes and everything you see. If you know bikes you will be able to tell from the pics on all the add-ons but for the Touratech front progressive springs and the tank bag. From a slight tweak or tuck, to a full-blown tear-down and rebirth, we do the right stuff to bring out the soul of the bike. We started out with a nice, clean /5. First thing we did was replace those persnickety Bing carbs with some Makunis and the OEM exhaust with Moto GP's, so this motor could breathe. Next we tore off the sub-frame and fabbed up a new one, high and tight and added a custom leather seat. Slid the shock mounts up and strapped on a set of 15” Ohlins to give this bike a little more travel, then we called our friends at RaceTech and ordered up some new fork springs and did a complete rebuild on the front end. We wired this bike up with an M-Unit control box and cleaned up the wiring harness. The instrument cluster was refurbished by Overseas Speedo and the headlight bucket and mounts have been powder-coated gloss black - Renthal bars and leather Brooks bicycle grips finish off the cockpit of this kick *** Beemer. Boxer Metal did a killer job on the rims and hubs with gloss black powder coating and then laced them up with stainless steel spokes and we wrapped them in some nice Continental dual sport tires. This bike is a daily and it's a blast to ride. Provided you can avoid all the folks who will want to talk your face off about how kick *** of a bike it is!!
