A fun machine that gets a lot of attention at our shop. Here we have a cool little Bar hopper. This CB550 was something that I discovered locally and was in a guys garage where he had parked it in 1986, the bike had not run at all since then, so we bought it back to the shop and did quite a bit of work to this machine. This Brat bike is quite a looker, its no show pony by any standards, nor does it pertain to be, but a cool old style bike that we built as young lads in the 1970's in the UK before we even knew what they were called upon today. Have a look at this little bike, its a fun machine and has lots of potential , we have done a heap to it and here is just a little bit of information that you may want to know about the bike. This has Brand New upper fork tubes that are 2 inch under stock size to lower the bike somewhat. We then removed the loweres and machined and polished them then rebuilt and resealed. We then used one of our New machined alloy fork braces to make sure the front end was sturdy, then rebuilt the front caliper and polished the bracket and fitted a Black braded hose line up with a New master cylinder. The old rims we took apart and fitted Brand New DID rims and laced them with stainless spokes to a polished abd rebuilt Hub front and back.To make this stand out we fitted new tubes and some juicey Fat Diamond treaded tires and this really does make her stand out. We also made a custom battery box from Alloy and then fabbed a new Brat style seat thats upholstered and suits the look of this machine. The Carbs were toast and now a frsh rebuilt set sit on the motor and she fires right up. We kept the old custom header and then fitted out stainless 2.5 Inch slip on muffler and baffle and it sounds great,. I fitted some of our polished handbar risers on up front and an old bultaco set of handlebars from 1974 set the bike off. Fitting with vintage stuff, I used a 1932 ford Cowl light that I picked up from my mates old spped shop and fitted a toggle switch, this is wired up to the cool back light assembly and functions very well indeed. We fitted our cool shocks and used vintage lowering blocks to give this bike a nice stance and from standing straight, this bike is 29 inches high at the top of the seat, so nice and low for that old digger look. I removed the old worn gauges and fitted a New chome 2.5 speedometer and that works fine, we fitted some cool Gold flake grips to the handbags and a new right side control. We machined the old oil filter cover and polished that as well as changed the oil too. A real cool bike and it is ideal for girls being so short, kick only as it will need a solinoid to make that work but I like the kick start style and she fires right up, it could do with some filters and may add some before the auction closes. I have the Original Title for this bike too and all checks out ok as well.Have a look, see what you think, it sure is a fun looking machine. It had 25,000 miles on the original odometer and I believe that to be true, I cannot guarantee the engine as I really do not know the condition, but it ran and all gears worked fine as well as the clutch, I have taken it out on the road to make sure all was well and it was a fun ride. I want to be honest on here so the motor may need some polishing but it runs pretty good. I am in Anaheim California but you can call Larry at Eagle One at 209-495-3729 as he does door to door delivery anywhere in the lower 48, so call him for a quote if you are interested and outside California. Thanks for looking and if you want any more information you can drop us a line on here or sling a Dime in the Ear trumpet at 714-996-4597 or text 714-598-8392 and we will do our very best to help. Check the video below when i first fired it up after many many years of sat in a garage, since 1986.
