You're looking at the latest Cafe Racer creation of Magnum Opus Custom Bikes in NC named "The Elegant Ride"This bike is being featured on the major cafè racer websites for its design and attention to details. It starts as a 1975 CB750 SOHC K5 with a modified frame and a freshly rebuilt motor (new piston rings, valve stem seals and all new gaskets (all of them), also a 3 angle valve job was done. The bike has only the testing milage on it (100 mi). Everything else (I mean everything else) has been replaced/upgraded. It's a joy to ride and it handles wonderfully!!! But hey, you're free to park it in your living room and show it to your guests, if you wish !!! With this build we wanted to create a light looking machine without sacrificing the handling and the elegance. We believe we achieved that with The Elegant Ride. A huge amount of effort went into the wiring and the controls, we had to minimize the number of wires/cables that go into the headlight, to get to the neat appearance we wanted. So, we got rid of the original controls to install minimalistic ones and relocating the start button (by hiding it) into a machined triple tree top nut. We wanted to use a headlight without lateral brackets, but we had a hard time finding one with the shape we wanted. We ended up with a very unusual choice, by adapting and installing a headlight that comes from a French car produced in 1948. We modified the body, to allow the installation of a 2.5" speedometer in it. The forks have been taken apart and chromed (they came from a 1978 CB750F), the brake disk, drilled. The old steering ball bearings have been replaced with a new generation of tapered ones and the races replaced. The velocity stacks (with brass screens), hand grips, pegs, tail light and exhaust tip have been machined down on a metal lathe (not CNC), we really spent some time creating these unique pieces by hand, using a bunch of aluminum billets. The gas tank and the seat pan were also handmade and the aluminum polished. The battery we used is a non-spillable gel one, installed under the seat cowl (we also installed a battery tender connector so you won't have to take apart anything to install it). The two original ugly unit (rectifier and regulator) have been replaced with a combo solid state one, installed under the seat along with the new LED blinker unit. ...The bike features custom wiring that led us to eliminate things we don't need or that would take up too much room, this bike now has a single 30 amp fuse , easily reachable on the right side of the bike. Continuing with the list of handmade parts, the starp and the upholstery was made by using , foam pads, and hand-quilted italian leather (100% prime quality leather). As you can see, the oil tank we used it isn't the original one, this particular one was made according to our specifications and professionally TIG welded and pressure tested by a shop here in Wilmington, NC. New oil lines were installed as well. We also installed a new 530 GOLD chain for aesthetical and functional purposes, drilled the rear wheel drum, the chain cover and some of the frame tabs for the same reason. New, vintage firestone tires were used for this build, because we wanted everything to match that period in time. The company's logo was the only thing engaved (cnc'd) onto the points cover. We installed a 4 into 1 kerker exhaust with a custom made exhaust tip. Upgraded the carburetors jet, needles and synchronized everything. Lastly, the hammer engraved name plate was added at the end to give you the feeling of a hand built machine. Please feel free to ask me any question about the bike. Text me here or at 347-235-9405 If you buy local (Wilmington, North Carolina USA) you'll have 30 days/1000 miles warranty as we're sure of the way we built this bike. NO MOTORCYCLE BUILDER GIVES YOU ANY WARRANTY ON A 40 YEARS OLD BIKE, WE DO. We might be able to throw in shipping (insured) for the right offer. Within the USA, NO international. Decided on case to case basis There's no warranty implied or expressed if you buy from out of State / Area or Country (due to possible scams). This unique bike is the result of 400 hours of work. YOU WON'T FIND ANOTHER BIKE ON THE STREET LIKE THIS. Street Legal No low ballers, only reasonable offers will be considered. Clean/Clear NC title in hand as for all our bikes! Buy with confidence as we have 100% positive feedbacks. WE SHIP WORLDWIDE at buyer's expense. The stripes are not decal and are painted. The seat is aftermarket reproduction new. exhaust does have a tail piece but no baffle. I added the grab bar and turn signals and the rear fender. The front fender has a few dings, chrome is decent. The rear fender i had in my stash and is decent with very very light surface rust in places. missing the rear pegs and will also need a bracket to keep the center stand away from the chain.front caliper has been taken apart and cleaned and reinstalled, bled and in working order. Carbs have been gone through and ultrasonic cleaned and are in good shape, bike runs well but have not been down the road due to the 5-20 degree weather. 130 mains and 40 pilots in the carbs.one badge is backward and one is not, ill be swapping that out.speedo shows 45k miles. engine runs well You can never know if the gauges have been replaced. i have not adjusted the cam chain or adjusted the vavles. For your consideration, I've got a 1972 Honda CB750 that has been mildly customized in the Cafe Racer style. This bike belonged to a friend of mine for many years, and he did the majority of the custom work to the bike. In addition to some of the custom body work seen in the photos, some other improvements have been made: New wheel bearings, newly powdercoated rims, stainless spokes from Buchanan's, rebuilt front forks and new rear shocks. Brand new set of tires and tubes. Also, the swing arm is from a 76 CB750, and with that came the addition of the disc brake set up. A very nice addition to these old bikes. There has also been an oil pressure gauge added as well as oil temp gauge at the oil tank. This bike was purpose built to be blacked out and tough looking. It is all that. In the Cafe style, clip-on bars have replaced the standard handlebars. The riding position is very comfortable for what it is. This is a very nice running bike, that may only need a final synching of the carbs to run absolutely flawless, everything esle seems to work fine. I have been storing the bike in my shop for the last couple of years. I have just done a fresh Motul oil change, with a carb rebuild and a new battery. The bike starts and runs well. Improvements can be made on these 4 carb bikes...that said, I don't know that the pod filters are a perfect fit for this bike. Included in the sale is the original air cleaner assembly. I have set the price and reserve fairly, as I know this is not a perfect example of either a stock or a custom bike. There are cosmetic imperfections that some may not aprove of. Others will find it's rough and ready urban demeanor a great fit for what they want. Please ask questions.Your bid is final. Please bid only if you intend to win. I take my auctions very seriously, and ask that bidders approach with the same respect. Thank you in advance. I can store the bike for an agreed upon amount of time while shipping is worked out. This can be determined after full payment has been made. $300 non refundable deposit is due immediately after the auction ends. The remainder is due within 5 days of winning the auction. This can be cash in person, wire transfer, or cashiers check. The bike will not leave until funds have been verified.
