I have a nice Mini Chopper for sale. It was built in 2004 and given as a gift to a friend of mine. I don't know much more about the build. It has hardly ever been used and has not been ridden at all in the last few years. I estimate it has 30 miles on it at most. This is a custom bike that does not have a VIN number and I don't have a title for it. It runs and rides well. Everything works on it. It could use some TLC from sitting but nothing major. As you can see in the pictures this bike is a carbureted single. I think it is a Chinese engine but I don't see any markings on it that provide the manufacturer. I am assuming Chinese because it has electric start and closely resembles as Honda engine which is typical for the Chinese replica motors. It is a 3 speed transmission with the automatic (centrifugal) clutch. The electric start is nice and it has a CDI ignition. The parts used in the build are nice. The front-end is a strong setup and the one-piece aluminum wheels are well made. The custom exhaust looks cool and sounds good. The frame is steel with quality welds. The tank is straight forward tear-drop and the paint is good-rider quality. I have owned a number of older motorcycles and sold a few of them on eBay. I'm not entirely sure how to value this mini-chopper. I took a look at the parts and thought about what it would take to reproduce it in time and materials. Leo Vince slip on muffler with the baffle still in Factory maintenance manual Have the locks for the factory luggage if you ever want to get those Forks have 400ml of 7wt oil and this has worked quite well. Currently running Amsoil 20-50 oil but dont recommend it for temps under 40f as the Tiger has trouble starting with this thick of oil. Would recommend sticking with 10-40 in winter and 10-50 in the summer. Okay the bad, I managed to drop the Tiger at 5 miles an hour doing some light off road, see video at Also managed to do something I havent done in 30 years, forgot to put the side stand down and dropped it, only fell a short distance against my kids non running Trooper and so no damage and then to add insult to injury when I got home I thought the side stand was down and it wasnt so down we went again in slow motion, no damage except for a little scrape mark on the engine guards. Sometimes getting old SUCKS. Oil and filter always changed every 3-5K and I even washed it the other day. Only problems I ever had was with the idle dodad that would sometimes cause the engine to die at start up, as long as it is cleaned and lubed then no problem, you can look this up in the Tiger thread. I also had the pin that controls the spring back on the shift lever break, fixed it with a 10-32 flat head screw and it will never break again. As everybody always says I wouldnt hesitate to drive it cross country, if you buy it let me know if you do it and send pictures. Selling my Multistrada 1000 DS. Runs Great, daily driver, rebuilt title. Has 28k miles and still runs like new. These are impressive machines. I'm a mechanic and I rebuilt this downed bike a couple years ago to ride because Ducati's are fun, cool bikes with excellent engineering. I didn't make it a perfectly cosmetic bike because I ride, I don't show my bikes in events, don't need to impress the ladies that don't know what it is anyway. There is some small rash from the left side crash the previous owner had, but he had frame sliders, so, it's minimal. The left Motivation Frame Slider has been replaced with a new one. I also bought a couple used pieces that had slight rash, but it doesn't bother me, and the bike rides the same. You can spend the extra time and money to make it prettier, but for me it was more economical to leave it as is and just enjoy it. It has a new battery, Rizoma Red Italian Grips (they look and feel just like the cheap Chinese aluminum grips, just cost a bunch more), excellent Pirelli Tires, great Brembo Brakes, nice stock alloy Ducati wheels, stock seats, turn signal mirrors, etc. . . New front fork seals, too, so you won't have to worry about that for a long time. I like this Ducati because it's simple air and oil cooled and you're not hassled with all the water cooled bike maintenance issues, extra bulk and weight, etc... I also like the dry clutch. Yes it rattles when not engaged, but I kinda like that classic Ducati sound. The dry clutch lasts a lot longer than the wet ones. I'm only selling this bike because I'm getting into long distance touring and I have too many bikes as it is. I don't need money, so, please understand that I won't accept a lowball offer. It has a lot of zip that 50cc scooters don't have, will go up to 63 mph, and gets around 85 mpg. Before buying this scooter I did a lot of research and based on what I read, vowed to not buy a cheap Chinese scooter. If you do your research, you'll see that it pays to buy Italian scooters. I've been the owner of this scooter for almost 2 1/2 years. It was my only motorized transportation for 2 years and has been very dependable, whether the temperature is 23 degrees or 95 degrees. I've changed the oil on a regular basis and have had it serviced at East Atlanta Motorcycles. I've recently replaced the rear tire, the mirrors, the battery, and a left-front trim piece. If the sell price is right, I'll throw in: Fulmer Candy Apple Red Size Large 3/4 Helmet LS2 Black Size Medium Half Helmet 2-Piece Size Medium Rain Suit The scooter has lived outside but always covered (included). Mileage of 16,683 is accurate. Scooters over 50cc like this one require a tag, registration, title, insurance, and a valid Class M motorcycle license. There are several places on the scooter with scratches and scuffs from a couple of light spills that sandpaper and touch up paint could fix. BMW : R-Series 1938 BMW R71

1938 BMW R71, completely restored (94 points) and awards at Riding into History. The last of the side valve engine design from BMW. Three documented owners, and complete provenance from the import log in England. In late 1937 BMW introduced a new series of motorcycles with a rear suspension, offering more comfort and control. This design would serve BMW for the next 17 years of production before the famous Earles fork model (known later as a /2) would replace it. Also new, was a 750cc side valve engine for more pulling power with the proven durability of a side valve engine. This would be the last side valve design from BMW. The price for this technology and durability was 125 pounds Sterling (8 months of salary for the average worker). A new BSA Gold Star could be purchased for a bargain 85 pounds. This R71 was manufactured in March of 1938, and exported to England in one of the last shipments before war. The original distributor (AFN) records were accessed and revealed this BMW was sold to E.G. Gorham on November 26, 1938. In the summer of the following year, Les Gilles bought the BMW. Les owned this bike until its sale in 2010. (over 70 years of ownership). Les rode his bike constantly, riding dispatches during the bombings of London. Early U.K. BMW club publications reveal the memory of fellow riders of Les riding his BMW back and forth to his work at Hooper’s (The body manufacturer for Rolls Royce). Les always attended the yearly Isle of Mann races, and his story was found in a newspaper.The bike has under gone a 3 year, documented restoration. The bike presented today is close to how it was delivered to the first owner in 1938. A replica UK license plate and tax stamp are present, along with the lead/wire seals for the carbs. BMW wanted to make sure this model received the proper break-in. The carbs have a small pin that that limit the throttle opening. This kept the load on the engine light until the proper service level, when the dealership would remove the seal. Also found was the letter "S" cast into the final drive cover. This indicated the final drive casting was part of a factory "recall" to replace earlier drives. These had metallurgical failures of the original design, and were replaced.This motorcycle design was copied by the US Army, and the Russian Army. The Russian design has evolved and is still produced today under the name of Ural. Rumor has it that when the Russians wore out their original tooling, they passed it on the the Chinese who still produce the Chang Jiang, which has also undergone many production updates.Original BMW R71's are rare and more often Russian or Chinese copies are found in the Market place.
