"Doyle's Natural Produce" This is an extremely rare 1931 Gotfredson Panel Wagon Produce Truck. The Gotfredson Truck Company built trucks in Canada and Michigan between 1920 and 1948. The history of the company along with lots of great information and pictures can be found at gotfredson (dot) org. Only two RB-34 Panel Wagons were built, with this one believed to be the only survivor. It was purchased by the current owner at the Earl Marhanka Truck Collection Auction in 1991. (An interesting side note; Earl paid $16,500 for the truck at auction in 1974). A complete body-off restoration was done in the 1990's, after which it was placed in storage. All new birds-eye maple was used in the restoration and the craftsmanship is impeccable. The seats were reupholstered with period correct Mohair. Included with the sale are photos documenting the build, historical documents related to this specific truck and Gotfredson Truck Co., along with receipts and other misc paperwork. The fuel and brake systems were just flushed out, the starter was rebuilt and a new 6 volt battery was just installed. The truck starts easily and runs, drives, shifts and stops. HANDLING OF WARRANTY CLAIMS: FOR PARTS: All Parts warranty issues must be processed through the dealer where your product was purchased. If you can not reach your dealer, you must produce a copy of your original invoice showing our model number, vehicle identification number and date of purchase on the invoice, as well as a copy of your Consumer Motor Vehicle Delivery Preparation and Inspection Form before we can warranty your product directly. This automobile was made from 1946 to 1953 and based on the 1945 Armstrong Siddeley Lancaster. The chassis featured independent front suspension using torsion bars and a live rear axle with leaf springs. A Girling hydro-mechanical braking system was fitted, with the front drums hydraulically operated while those at the rear used rod and cable. The four seat, two door body was made of steel and aluminum panel fitted over a wood and aluminum frame. The doors were rear hinged, an arrangement that got the name of suicide doors. The paint shows very well and shows only very minor imperfections. The body is straight and solid, as a post war Willys should be!
