Owned by custom bike builder , collector. ONE OF A KIND Custom / A real GEM This is a Brand New 2006 BIMOTA SB8K Santa Monica #8 super bike / sports bike . The bike currently has a number of custom upgrades and additions on / in the build , as it has been one of my collectors pieces that Im customizing . The bike is listed and for sale with the upgrades that are currently done to the bike. However, the bike can easily be returned to its original stock condition by having the upgrades removed and replaced with the OEM parts. At the end of the description I add a list of additional parts and upgrades that are not yet on the bike. These can be added to the purchase but the purchase price would need to be negotiated to include these items ( they do not automatically come with the bike). So basically what I am saying is that the bike can be set up and sold to the buyer in a number of different configurations ranging from 100% stock ( as it came from the factory ) or with the current upgrades , or with the current upgrades plus any or all of the additional components listed as options at the end of this description. Never registered, never titled, never ridden, nor plated. The bike has always been kept in an environmentally controlled setting and has never been left, parked or stored otherwise. The bike is in brand new pristine condition, actually better than showroom new, because of the additional items noted throughout this listing. If you have never seen a BIMOTA SB8K Santa Monica model , you cant do it justice with pictures. BIMOTAs are always gems, but IMHO the Santa Monica is without a doubt the best built BIMOTA ever made. The attention to detail and the fit and finish of the entire bike is superb. If I had only one BIMOTA it would have to be either a Santa Monica or a Tesi 3D LE.......or both :) :) The bike is totally street legal and ridable. But the bike has only been kept as a collectors piece and has not been ridden or used in any way. So the bike is as new as a new bike can possibly be. The bike has not been titled, nor registered, nor plated. The original MSO ( Manufacturers Statement of Origin ) and bill of sale will go with the bike upon purchase. This is a USA legally imported bike. Bob Smith of Moto Point imported this bike into the USA for his own private collection ( Bob Smith / Moto Point was the USA BIMOTA Importer to the USA at that time ). The MSO is proof of the bike being legally imported into the USA, and of course the bike has the correct DOT approved VIN numbers. Important note ; BIMOTA has not had an official importer in the recent past. The DB7 was the last model imported into the USA. There are a number of BIMOTAs that have been brought into the USA illegally or by sneaky methods , and these bikes can be extremely hard, if not impossible to get titled, registered or plated to make them street legal. It is a good idea as a potential buyer to always check the bikes importation records to be sure that you are not buying a bike that you cant ride on the streets legally . All makes and models have to pass DOT regulations and emissions and noise standards. FYI......I mention this because I have been asked this question and think that its important to bring this topic to the viewers attention . The bike originally was imported into the USA and was owned and in Bob Smiths personal collection. The bike was later sold to another dealer / collector and I purchased the bike from this individual in order to put this bike into my collection. I was in the process of highly customizing and upgrading this bike with intension to keep it in my collection and to possibly start riding the bike in the mountain canyons in my "back yard " ( the Rocky Mountains are just outside my back door ...... true ). Im now in my early 60s and due to health and medical problems, Im thinning out my collections and considering putting this rare gem up for sale. This bike is still brand new as it has never been registered, nor plated, and has not been ridden. It has been serviced and set up with the latest fuel maps and is kept in a climate controlled setting. The bike is kept on wheel stands and is connected to a battery tender. The bike is occasionally started and warmed up and checked out , and then returned to the collection ( this is done to prevent problems that can happen if a motorcycle is left sitting to long without running the engine and neglecting its care / bikes in storage require regular care and regular checks and Im happy to discuss this topic to any one who has interest in this, or has questions about it ). The bike originally was the highest spec BIMOTA ever built with a MSRP / Retail of $45900 USD ( true in 2006 when it was made ) The bike came with many many top of the line components and has an a hugh amount of carbon fiber throughout the bike, Ohlins suspension, Brembo brakes , and a superb Suzuki TLR 1000 Vee Twin engine. BIMOTA added its own special ignition and fueling systems and has the worlds only tilting injector system that is computer controlled to match the movements of the butterfly valves of the 2 massive 52mm throttle bodies. The bike came with a half aluminum half carbon fiber frame, Racing forged CNC machined Gold anodized wheels, a one of a kind instrument cluster, a programable ECU with 2 maps that can be change in a minute at the instrument cluster / switch gear. The attention to detail is state of the art. In fact this BIMOTA has the best level of quality and fit and finish as well as the highest cost for BIMOTA to produce. There is a fair amount of information about this bike available on the internet. The reviews and road tests of the bike had called the bike the Best Big Twin Super Bike as well as the Best BIMOTA ever built. The handling , suspension, performance and ride ability all un surpassed . Please note: the few glitches that the BIMOTA SB8R / SB8RS bikes had was completely re done and do not exist in this model ( I use to own 3 BIMOTA SB8RS bikes # 5, # 6, and # 10 of 150 ....so I know ). Here is wants on / in the bike as it is listed for sale ( all of these items go with the bike unless decided upon differently by the buyer / seller agreement ): BIMOTA Carbon Fiber Racing Gas Tank / Fuel Tank ( the bike originally had a USA DOT Aluminum gas tank painted ). This is a very rare and expensive upgrade. $3600 USD from BIMOTA Italy . The Carbon tank was made for racing the bike. The carbon gas tank was treated with a epoxy inner coating ( during set up at the dealers ) and was done to both reinforce and strengthen the carbon tank to make it safe for riding the bike on the streets and mountain canyons. The carbon tank was used to both decrease weight as well as to improve cosmetics Carbon Fiber Racing Gas Cap assembly ( locking type with key ) replaced the stock heavy OEM locking gas tank cap assembly to both lower weight as well as improve the cosmetics . This carbon gas cap matches the weave of the tank Carbon fiber gas tank guards were added for additional protection to the tank Rare BIMOTA Billet CNC machined Control Levers for both clutch and front brake replace the cast OEM levers. These BIMOTA levers are unique and fully adjustable and have the BIMOTA logo "cut" into their aluminum / billet facing. This was a $1000 USD addition. V-twin Racer from Another Mother Daniel Ludwigsen’s Wraith-inspired Buell Bobber » We’re probably just going through one of those cyclical phases where many, many customs are being built to be ridden in anger as well as a cute thing to look at and that’s okay by me. I never got that memo back in 2002 that said custom bikes were no longer going to be ably ridden by other than about six or seven skilled people. Wide, fat rear tires, frames stretched beyond belief and then stretched some more, forks reaching for the horizon, and a turning radius equivalent to an oil tanker doing a 180 at sea does not make for an easy riding machine. No surprise then that people are turning to bikes like our Spitfire Motorcycles’ Supertracker feature bike that combines custom looks, awesome performance, and a hell of a lot of fun to ride in one ready for celebrating St. Paddy’s Day package (except for the booze part). View all 8 images What Spitfire’s Paul Cavallo has done here for Supertracker’s owner, Mike “Cheez” Brown, is to take one customer’s dream of “I want a V-twin that I can jump” and turn it into a fire-breathing reality. What Mike ended up with is a bike that looks ready to travel back to the ‘80s when super motards (or supermoto depending on your preference) were created for a made-for-TV-sport called Superbikers that failed here initially before a resurgence in Europe brought it back to America. Toss in some street tracker vibes just because you can and that’s where the name Supertracker must come from. Obviously Paul didn’t just modify a Sportster frame for this duty, but started from a clean sheet of paper or a pile of tubing or whatever he starts from when he’s building something that never existed before. Check out the wicked long travel and beefy inverted fork along with the braced swingarm and monoshock rear suspension Paul designed and you can se this is not your typical street tracker custom, but a bike built to fall back down to earth safely after a big jump or two or three or more. I’d go for the “more” aspect. Getting it up to speed to jump is a Spitfire-modified 1203cc Buell engine ripped out of an innocent Buell Thunderbolt for repurposing in Mike’s bike. Real XR-style exhausts by SuperTrapp look just peachy and enable Mike to dial in the engine’s audio output to whatever his mood is by simply adding or subtracting plates. Hey, a guy’s gotta look good and sound good before, during, and after any jump. Making it look good is the handmade bodywork by Jason Wilson that was treated to a dose of Wayne Wreck and Sweet Baby James paint to bring either an ode to some body being Irish or just a bit of Shamrock-induced luck to the bike. I’m going with the luck part as jumping anything this big and fast involves a bit ‘o luck as well as skill in landing safely over and over. Hey, everybody’s got some lucky thing on there bike or some ritual of luck they do when it comes time to fly. If for some reason you don’t, I’d advise you to get one quickly as you don’t want to push your luck anymore than what you have already. The end result of all of this work culminated in a “Best in Class” and “Outstanding Engineering” awards at the 2010 Oakland Roadster Show along with a well-deserved third place finish in the 2012 Ultimate Builder Show finals of the Performance Custom class. Some features roll out of my pen like a smooth ride through Colorado’s San Juan Mountains heading north for the Badlands. Others burn out, like a high standard shotgun blasting away. This one feels more like a sawed-off shotgun about to unleash eight rounds of double-ought buck. Let’s hit it. The former master designer and fabricator of Hell Bound Steel built this wild bike. The company went belly up when the banking industry put half the companies in America out of business because of their greedy habits. The manufactured custom industry is gone except for Big Dog, Brass Balls, and Sucker Punch. But let’s drop the negative waves. Paul Cavallo and his dad downsized their business to a manageable size. They manufactured products for many of the companies in the industry, including WCC, and you know what happened. But they’re still at it, making parts under the motto: American Made for Anyone. They have all the capabilities to build custom frames for anything from Harleys to British bikes and Yamahas. Eventually they made the decision to kick off their own line of products, including girder frontends, foot controls – WCC style, wheels, and fenders, under the name Spitfire Motorcycles. They also build custom bikes for customers like Mike “Cheez” Brown, who’s worked with bands such as Kid Rock, Korn, etc. Paul and Cheez ran in similar musical circles as kids, hanging out with the same bands. Motorcycles were always a major priority with Cheez. “Life is all about riding motorcycles and f*@king, with some music in the background,” Cheez said. He rides anything with two wheels, including dirt bikes, Harleys, and Vespas. His dad was a professional motorcycle drag racer and died leaving the track during Daytona Bike Week in 1978. Cheez has always been a huge fan of flat track racing and XR 750s, so Paul went to work creating a one-off hot rod, state of the art, flat track racer for the street. Paul is a dry sort, but he never stops thinking. His eyes dart around the room during conversations, as if his creative juices are on constant high alert. He started this project in March of ‘09 with a donor Buell. He thought he would use several of the parts, but ended up with only the driveline and rear brake. He built the frame three times with the input and computer savvy of Race Tech, the suspension masters. “Race Tech designed the one-off mono- shock, and we designed and rebuilt the frame and swingarm several times to make it work perfectly in any road conditions,” explained Paul. Cheez isn’t a long legged man, so the bike could not be tall and clumsy, but still had to handle in the dirt or on the freeway. “We ended up building a 120 horsepower, mono- shock hot rod that you could jump, but it still has a low center of gravity,” stated Paul. The Race Tech frontend has multi-valves designed to allow the fork oil to flow at specific rates until the travel exceeds 15-20-25 mm. Then, suspension action, adhering to the road conditions for the best possible ride. Paul said that it took seven months and several trips to their plant for Race Tech to complete the job. Each time the bike was mounted in a fixture, computer stickers were applied to monitor the chassis movement under varying loads and road surfaces. Every delicate movement was monitored with laser cameras as each component was hydraulically compressed. With each set of tests, they altered the neck angle, the height of the forks and mono-shock, and the length of the backbone of the frame and swingarm. Plus the axle position on the swingarm was adjusted. “Race Tech prints out the data from any variation in the chassis,” Paul said. “Then they compare their findings against years of research to calculate the rates of travel, performance, and handling.” Since Cheez is Scottish, he is a major Steve McQueen and Evel Knievel fan, so the bike, the “Super Tracker,” contains elements of both men as a tribute. This bike isn’t just an oddball custom built for a guy who plays a guitar solo in the Sublime song, “What I got.” He’s all about motorcycles. His partner in biz is Henry Nicholas, the engineer creator of Broadband, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi who is also a renegade. Here’s a recent mention in Forbes: This is a shocking turn of events for Nicholas, considering the traction two indictments levied against him in federal court in 2008 got with the media. The indictments, which made him out to be a hooker-loving, drugged-up billionaire who dabbled in securities fraud, essentially cemented his image as a dirty guy – or at least someone who couldn’t handle success. But late last week, federal prosecutors asked Judge Cormac J. Carney to dismiss a four-count indictment that charges Nicholas with drug conspiracy. This request for dismissal came a few weeks after Carney threw out charges o n 21 counts of options backdating and securities fraud against Nicholas and former Broadcom chief financial officer William Ruehle.–Matthew Miller. So, Cheez and Henry are two wild men. Cheez owns several Club Tattoo parlors in Phoenix and Vegas with Shawn and Chester Bennington, the Linkin Park front man, a couple of restaurants and a top selling hair salon. The exquisite vehicle captured the media’s attention and the imagination of history. Auburns were built largely by hand. By 1937, though, production of Auburns had ceased. Auburn Speedsters were known for their top speeds of 100 mph.California Custom Coach (CCC) was started by Cecil Gold and Ray Oja from Burbank, Calif., in 1976. CCC Inc. was located in Pasadena, Calif. The build tags found on their Auburns state that CCC Inc. is a subsidiary of the Auburn Speedster Company. FS BMW R1200GS Carbon Fiber Titanium Custom.......the majority of these upgrades and custom modifications have been done recently, so most of what you see is only a couple of years old. All of the carbon fiber parts are pristine and are as good as new condition. The bike has always been stored , and or parked out of the sun and in climate controlled conditions to keep the carbon parts as well as the whole bike in showroom new condition. I know that the economy is in a weakened state and for many people, money is tight and that its become harder and harder for most of us to make ends meet let alone have extra to buy a custom bike for our recreational pleasure. Im also asking that any potential buyer to be able to make an immediate deposit upon the purchase of the bike ( either from buy it now or from an accepted offer ). The exact details of the bike purchase is to be worked out by buyer / seller discussion. The bike can be set up to the buyers wishes. In this listing I will explain the bike and how it has been set up. I will list the items that are on / in the bike and that go with the bike . PLEASE NOTE / regarding ABS.....this bike is a non ABS model that had to be special ordered from Germany. The bike can easily be made into a ABS model by simply adding the ABS components. The non ABS model is really a regular GS but with the ABS system left off the bike. All of the needed brackets, space and design of the bike is the same as the ABS model. If you wanted this bike to have the BMW ABS system, you could buy a new or used system and simply have it installed. The ABS system will add some more weight of course. FYI....take off new and used BMW ABS systems and system components are easily found on Ebay, the internet and especially cheaply at motorcycle salvage yards and used parts sales . ==============================================================================================================================================ADDED EXTRAS TO BE INCLUDED WITH THE BIKE / THESE ITEMS ARE INCLUDED WITH THE BIKE AT NO EXTRA COST: = BMW GPS system ( brand new top of the line set up for this make and model) New in box with all information, instructions, literature , included NIB .( The GPS system has been installed on the bike ) This is the BMW top of the line GPS set up that allows push button control on the fly ( while riding the bike, you can control and adjust / make changes to the system) = BMW GPS system mounting system ( includes the complete GPS mounting brackets , wiring harness , installed on the bike / this mounts the GPS system module on top of the center handlebars for easy viewing , easy access and easy operation ) =Carbon fiber sports style mirrors / Real Carbon Fiber Sports Mirrors .....set / pair of Real Carbon Fiber mirrors / these are lighter in weight and offer less wind resistance than the CNC billet custom mirrors on the bike as it is pictured ( you will get both sets of mirrors / both the CNC machined from billet custom mirrors as well as the genuine Carbon Fiber Sports mirrors ) -Extra custom made Fournales rear adjustable air suspension system ( this is a duplicate of what is already on the bike ) This is an extremely expensive custom made air suspension system , made for this bike. I purchased 2 of these ( on is on the bike / the other is a spare in case the one on the bike is damaged or breaks / Please note: these air shocks are adjustable , and are bullet proof reliable. In fact they are used in extreme off road and on road endurance and long distance 4x4 and ralley car racing . I purchased 2 of these rear shocks because they were custom made for this bike. The one on the bike should easily last the life of the bike. The spare is only for use in the rare event of an accident or damage to the original unit. -Titanium sports bend titanium handle bars ( real titanium / not just ti color / with cross brace that is removable ) - Extra pair of custom made CNC machined billet turn signal assemblies ( duplicates of what is already on the bike) Again, these are spares / these CNC machined from billet turn signals were custom made . A pair of spares only makes good sense. = Extra air suspension pumps / the bike will come with 2 manual air pumps for added pressure to the front and or rear air shock absorber systems. One is kept on the bike in the carbon fiber rear fender case. The other one is a spare to be kept at home , or in the shop, or if desired, both of these pumps can be carried with the bike. FYI....these special air pumps are CNC machined from billet, and are small, easy to use, and extremely durable. They only weight about one pound each. They are about 12" long, 1" in diameter, and are similar to a small carry style bicycle pump. But these are no bike pump. They are expensive tools especially made for air suspension systems . = CARBON FIBER REAR FENDER CASE ....the textile rear fender bag in the pictures was removed. In its place Ive mounted a real Carbon Fiber rear fender luggage case . This storage / carry case is roughly 12" wide, 14" long and 4" tall with adjustability to expand to around 9" tall or more. This genuine Carbon Fiber fender case was extremely expensive and is a beautiful piece of art. It is gently curves in all areas and it fits the bike perfectly. It is both functional as well as areo dynamically sound. It is not a square trunk or box, but a very cosmetically pleasing piece of kit that adds both form and function to the ride = Tool kit included. Ive added a small tool kit of metric pieces that will go with the bike. These are in the carbon fiber rear fender case , alone with one of the air pumps ( described above ). Pictures of these added extras are available upon request. = There may be some additional items that Ive missed or forgotten. The only reason I am thinking about selling this beautiful machine is that due to health problems Im not going to be able to do any more long distance or long duration riding. My R1200GS Carbon-Titanium custom bike was a result of over 2 years of steady research and development. It was a money is no object project to improve upon the already great BMW machine. This started as a brand new 2005 non ABS BMW R1200GS.....the entire bike is a total ground up all carbon fiber and titanium custom upgrade. The goal was to build the ultimate BMW boxer super sports touring bike for the roads and canyons of the American Rocky Mountains. The entire bike has had every fastener, nut, bolt and screw replaced with genuine titanium parts. Every piece of body work has been replaced with real carbon fiber parts, many of which were custom made and/or modified and adapted to the bike. The intake, ECU, exhaust, suspension, lighting, wheels, brakes, and every other system of the bike has been painstakingly redone with the goals in mind of maximizing performance, minimizing weight, and keeping the bullet proof reliability of the BMW R1200GS donor bike. The bike was purchased brand new from BMW Denver here in Colorado. The bike was bought as a special ordered NON ABS model that took nearly a year to get from Germany to me. I wanted the Non ABS because I did not want the extra weight or complexity of the ABS system, nor do I like the total lack of feel that ABS gives to the brakes on a bike. As an ex racer I believe that non ABS brakes provide the best feel at the lever and the best rider control of the bikes brakes. The few benefits of ABS was not enough to convince me that I wanted or needed it. I have had ABS bikes before and I just dont care for them. The amount of upgrades and level of detail is to much to list here. But just to give you and idea : BST carbon fiber 17" wheel sets, Brembo GP HP calipers, Braking wave rotors, Fournales custom air adjustable shocks front and rear ( springless air suspension custom made for the project), Akrapovic full titanium race exhaust system, Ztechnik true xenon HID accessory light system, ECU and intake upgrades , carbon fiber everything ( and I mean every thing ), genuine titanium everywhere ( and I mean everywhere )....... does this give you an idea ??? Along with the bike I also have a number of extras that will go with it. Including some of the take off items, and a set of the BMW saddle bags and mounts ( for longer distance use ). LUGGAGE : if you look closely you will see that the bike is currently set up with a set / pair of BMW Quick Release / locking saddle bag / luggage mounts ( with real Titanium fasteners of course). These mounts are easy to put on or take off the bike. The bike will come with a set / pair of BMW's top of the line Hard Cases / saddle bags that are made for this exact model. These I believe are called BMW "Vario" hard cases. They expand and reduce in size to fit the amount of luggage you have, or the amount of space yu need / want. They have 2 sizes that they can be adjusted to ( the width changes to make the cases bigger or smaller ). These cases lock to the bike and also lock closed with a key that matches the bike ( the bike key fits the bags and mounts). These cases also include heavy duty textile liners / soft bags that go inside them. This way you can either take the hard cases off the bike, or you can leave the hard cases on the bike and simply remove the soft luggage inside them. These are the only hard cases / saddle bags that look good on the bike IMHO. And they look very good on the bike, as they should since BMW designed them as a sports touring accessory for this exact bike. These hard and soft luggage items that are described above , will come with the bike or they can be left out of the purchase. This is a detail to be decided between the buyer and seller. These luggage items were purchased brand new from BMW , and I believe that I only used them once ( for an overnight trip in the mountains of Colorado ). I can say that this BMW luggage system was superb. It works well and looks great on the bike . PRICE......I forgot to put in a price......this is a very good question. I can tell you that over $50 K USD was invested ( this is how much the components and parts cost for the custom build . This does not include the cost of labor to build the bike ). The project started out with a brand new bike and all upgrades and additions were brand new ( no used items were used in the build ) . My original listing asking price is $36,000 .00 USD ( $36K USD) This $36K asking price......how did I come up with this price......it was rather difficult. The initial cost of the bike, plus a small fortune in genuine carbon fiber components and real titanium everywhere inside and out. Plus many many hours of work to find, make, modify and adapt parts . Labor to R&R the pieces. Testing and trial and error , R&D of various components to come up with what I consider the perfect bike......how do you put a price on this ? The $36K USD asking price I came to by assessing the total cost of this bike project ( less labor / not including any labor costs ) and then dividing it in half. The $36K is roughly 50% of the cost of this supreme custom ultra sports touring project . I figure that this bike is well worth every penny. In fact its a priceless one of a kind bike. I seriously doubt you will ever see another one :) R&D / Trial and error.......let me give you a couple examples; prior to settling on the custom made air Fournales suspension system on the bike I tried a number of different suspension systems including OEM, WP, Ohlins and BITUBO racing shocks. I also tried a number of different exhaust set ups, different brake sets, and quite a few other things were done with this same approach. What I wanted was to create the perfect "Sports touring " motorcycle for use in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and adjoining states. The end result of a few years and way to much time and money you see pictures of here. Mileage; The average yearly mileage of a sports touring bike is 6000 miles a year or more. BMWs tend to be ridden much more than most other bikes, especially the GS models which are often used as daily riders, and or are ridden all year round even in bad / poor weather conditions. The average miles on a BMW R1200GS 2005 model is 54,000 . This bike has only 27% of miles when using this mileage as a comparison. 15K miles on a 9 year old bike means that only 1600 miles a year ( only 133 miles a month ) of use on the bike. 15K miles for a 1200 BMW horizontal / 180 degree air / oil cooled twin cylinder bike is hardly warming it up for use. These bikes can easily put on 100K or more miles without a single missed beat. Speaking of pictures.....I have many more that show various details , and I may add more to the listing . I can of course send more pics upon request. But pictures , even being worth a thousand words cant compare to seeing this bike in the flesh. I welcome people to set up a viewing. The only way you can fully appreciate this bike is to see it, sit on it.....and ride it ( but only if you buy it....no test rides ). Please forgive me if I have repeated anything . There is so much that was done to this machine that it is essentially a completely new motorcycle . All of the hardware ( screws, bolts, washers, nuts ) on the bike, as well as on all of the accessories are changed out to race spec Titanium pieces ( for example; even the hardware on the windscreen is all titanium ). When I say that there is real carbon fiber and real titanium everywhere I was not joking . A hugh amount of titanium went into this project. The foot pegs are titanium. The turn signals are custom made CNC machined billet with LEDs There is a carbon fiber tail section case that will come with the bike. The gas cap assembly is CNC machined billet The control levers for front brake and clutch are fully adjustable CNC machined billet pieces The instrument cluster is wrapped in carbon fiber and has both billet aluminum and carbon accents The axle sliders and frame sliders are carbon fiber and titanium items The engine case screws and fasteners are genuine titanium replacements There are a number of custom made carbon fiber pieces throughout the bike The bike is equipped with the BMW saddle bag mounts ( titanium here too ). These are easily removed. The bike comes with a set / pair of the BMW expandable / adjustable Quick mount / release saddle bags ( mint condition as the bike ) There is a CNC machined handlebar adjustment bracket system on the bike that allows moving the handlebar placement ( up / down and or forward / backward ) The custom made seat is covered with real carbon fiber leather ( not fake ) The crank case breather has been vented to atmosphere with a K&N style breather system added to prevent anything getting into the system ( this removes the vent from the air box which means no more oil getting into the airbox and or filter and only fresh clean air gets into the engine) The air intake snorkel is an oversized unit and the filter is a racing cotton fiber reusable / cleanable one ( to increase air volume intake and eliminate restriction ) The bike is set up for the BMW GPS system ( the GPS does not go with the bike, however this can be added for a additional cost ) The bikes ECU has a programable computer feature that is tuned to the modified intake and exhaust The battery is a carbon fiber racing lithium ultra light weight system with charger ( this is a $1000 USD battery ) The rear / passenger foot pegs were removed , but the brackets were kept and a set / pair of carbon fiber and titanium sliders were added to the brackets to provide additional crash protection. This bike has just over 15,000 ( fifteen thousand ) original miles on her. This is barely ridden in / broken in for a BMW :) All of the miles on this bike were put on it by me. And only by riding on paved good condition canyons / roads and in good condition weather ( no off road, and no dirt use ). The bike was purchased for use on the paved canyons and roads of the Rocky Mountains ( which are right outside my back door....literally :) .......so this bike is considered a very low mileage example for her age. I will add more details when I get the time Please study the pictures ( I may add more photos as well .....enjoy the eye candy) Please note; the bike is in pristine condition. The only blemish I can find is that the leather seat has a few tiny areas where there are signs of use / wear and tear. Everything else is excellent as far as I can tell. Bob Smith of Moto Point imported this bike into the USA for his own private collection ( Bob Smith / Moto Point was the USA BIMOTA Importer to the USA at that time ). The bike originally was imported into the USA and was owned and in Bob Smiths personal collection. The bike was later sold to another dealer / collector and I purchased the bike from this individual in order to put this bike into my collection. I was in the process of highly customizing and upgrading this bike with intension to keep it in my collection and to possibly start riding the bike in the mountain canyons in my "back yard " ( the Rocky Mountains are just outside my back door ...... true ). Im now in my early 60s and due to health and medical problems, Im thinning out my collections and considering putting this rare gem up for sale. This bike is still brand new as it has never been registered, nor plated, and has not been ridden. It has been serviced and set up with the latest fuel maps and is kept in a climate controlled setting. The bike is kept on wheel stands and is connected to a battery tender. The bike is occasionally started and warmed up and checked out , and then returned to the collection ( this is done to prevent problems that can happen if a motorcycle is left sitting to long without running the engine and neglecting its care / bikes in storage require regular care and regular checks and Im happy to discuss this topic to any one who has interest in this, or has questions about it ). REGARDING CUSTOMIZATION AND OR UPGRADES AND EXTRAS; please read this as it tells about all of the goodies that have gone into this machine , as well as additional upgrades and spares available . The bike originally was the highest spec BIMOTA ever built with a MSRP / Retail of $45900 USD ( true in 2006 when it was made ) The bike came with many many top of the line components and has an a hugh amount of carbon fiber throughout the bike, Ohlins suspension, Brembo brakes , and a superb Suzuki TLR 1000 Vee Twin engine. BIMOTA added its own special ignition and fueling systems and has the worlds only tilting injector system that is computer controlled to match the movements of the butterfly valves of the 2 massive 52mm throttle bodies. The bike came with a half aluminum half carbon fiber frame, Racing forged CNC machined Gold anodized wheels, a one of a kind instrument cluster, a programable ECU with 2 maps that can be change in a minute at the instrument cluster / switch gear. The attention to detail is state of the art. In fact this BIMOTA has the best level of quality and fit and finish as well as the highest cost for BIMOTA to produce. There is a fair amount of information about this bike available on the internet. The reviews and road tests of the bike had called the bike the Best Big Twin Super Bike as well as the Best BIMOTA ever built. The handling , suspension, performance and ride ability all un surpassed . Please note: the few glitches that the BIMOTA SB8R / SB8RS bikes had was completely re done and do not exist in this model ( I use to own 3 BIMOTA SB8RS bikes # 5, # 6, and # 10 of 150 ....so I know ). In fact I sold my SB8RS bikes and replaced them with this Santa Monica ( and I had my SB8RS bikes customized and upgraded to the max )......I very much like this bike / SB8K Santa Monica over the SB8R/SB8RS models IMHO. LIST OF UPGRADES and CUSTOM changes to the bike ( the bike is currently set up like this ) : Thousands of dollars and many many hours have gone into improving upon an already "perfect " bike. The carbon gas tank was treated with a epoxy inner coating ( during set up at the dealers ) and was done to both reinforce and strengthen the carbon tank to make it safe for riding the bike on the streets and mountain canyons. The carbon tank was used to both decrease weight as well as to improve cosmetics Carbon Fiber Racing Gas Cap assembly ( locking type with key ) replaced the stock heavy OEM locking gas tank cap assembly to both lower weight as well as improve the cosmetics . I feel that when dealerships are selling their vehicles online to a broad audience and the buyer isn't able to personally inspect the vehicle during the typical purchasing process, the seller agent, Scott in this case, has to go out of his way to provide information, data and pictures to support the vehicle that they are representing. It is a Factory Built Model NOT a Kit made in someone's back yard. It has had only one owner Since the Build and only 5800 miles. My Friend and Jeweler Custom Ordered the car Locally from Mr. McBurnie. It was one of the original cars built before he was shut down by Ferrari and it took about 4 years from the time he ordered it to get everything completed on it. It is #79 0f 79 Built. Pretty cool to have the last one off the assembly line…;-) He ordered it with every possible option that he could. This car was his baby as you will see. It has spent all of its life in the garage. With Only 5,800 Original Miles on it from when the car was redone back in 1996. This is the car that was designed for Miami Vice TV Show and boy did it cause a lot of controversy when it came out. There is a Phantom Spot on the sensor of My camera when I took the pictures it is NOT on the car and you will see it in diff places in the pictures below... YES it ticks me off BUT I can't change it now I am sorryMy name is Nathan Wratislaw and when I met Mr. Tom McBurnie about a dozen years ago I had already seen many of these cars and owned one. My friend and Jeweler Paul was why I was "in the Know" and had had his for about 7 years at that time... It was SO Exotic.. I tried to buy this car back then NO WAY he said...LOL... There will never be another made he would always tell me. I went on to Buy the rights to the RIOT Car and all the Molds for that car from Mr. McBurnie and got to know him in the coming years and he also Taught me to lay Fiberglass the way he does on these cars... I'll tell you that training and having Lunch at least a few dozen times over that transition It just became Obvious how much Tom enjoyed Building cars like this. He went on for Years Building Carrera or Porsche 356 RSK and other Clones as well. This is all about the Last one of these California Daytona Spyders he Built and if you don't know about it do some research on Google it was quite a HUGE deal back then and this was the first Miami Vice Car as well.This Daytona even has the Custom made McBurnie Wheels Cast just for this car and likely under a dozen made. I have had 2 others in my life and this is the BEST by far. There is not many things about it that are not just as I would want them. Like I say the car is NOT Cheaply Built and I believe it is the Best one EVER made. My Friend lived here in San Diego and went back and forth and was very picky about having things done correctly.. Well he made sure of it and this car is a Masterpiece!!
