gregscustomcycles Store This “Captain America” Motorcycle was a factory built bike made by CMC “California Motorcycle Company”. Only produced one year in 1999 and endorsed by Peter Fonda Himself these rare bikes are seldom ever seen and very few are ever for sale. This one is a documented two owner bike with only 79 actual miles on it! It spent its entire life in the original owners living room! Still new in every way with no deterioration on the bike, chrome parts, nuts and bolts, etc. It looks as new as the day it rolled of the showroom floor. The bike is documented with the Letter of Authenticity, Matching Helmet signed by Peter Fonda. The bike is ready to ride and drive if so desired. You will probably never see another one for sale with as low of miles as this one. This Captain America in #105 of 750 Produced. Although there was supposed to be a total of 750 made, the actual number is much less than that as “CMC” turned into Indian Motorcycles in 1999 and thus were focusing on building the all new Indians from them on. All motorcycles were built in Gilroy, California. Factory Specifications include: S&S 88 Cubic Inch Super Stock Motor “Panhead” Style Rocker Covers 5-Speed Transmission Belt Driven Rigid Frame Powdercoated Motor and Frame Extended Billet Forward Controls Billet Triple Trees 4 Piston Billet Calipers with CMC logo Peanut Tank Chrome Fenders Captain America Seat Braided Steel Brake Lines Fishtail Exhaust System Chrome Oil Bag Single Round Mirror Chrome Lifter Blocks 12” Ape Hangers 16” Wheels Rear 40 Spoke 21” Front 40 Spoke wheel 10” Over Rocket Legs. 2000 Indian Chief. The Chief Marketing Officer for Indian Motorcycles commissioned NASA logo designer Bill Helin in Vancouver to paint his original "Mystery Chief" painting over one of their brand new 2000 Chief's. The bike was shipped to Vancouver, completely disassembled and the Mystery Chief painting was custom painted on every part of the bike. After 4 months, the bike was shipped back to Gilroy, California (Indian HQ),where it then went on a national marketing and promotional tour of every Indian dealership in the US (it was never for sale and was never driven). One year later, after completing its promotional tour, the Mystery Chief Indian motorcycle landed in Los Angeles and was put up for sale at Indian's Santa Monica dealership. I bought the bike for $34,000 USD in 2001. I drove it for three years until my first child was born, after that it was put in storage where it has remained since 2004. The bike has 2900 miles on it and has not been driven since 2004. Serious inquiries only- NO test rides, for sale at $18,000.00. The bike was formally appraised in 2010 for $45,000.
