New 1973 400MX. NOS bike. Assembled from a crate earlier this year. All original including the tires. No dry rot on any of the rubber parts. The oxidation preventative, Cosmoline removed from the machine. Gear box flushed and new oil added. New replica front fender replaces the original as the PVC plastic on the original was breaking down and sticky. Fork seals replaced with new fork oil. Bike was started and runs great. I would recommend a Mikuni kit if this bike is to be ridden or raced. The Jikov carb parts are very difficult to come by these days.

Great classic cz400. These are pretty rare to find in original condition. Most have been snatched up and all aftermarketed out for racing. This one was properly put away in 1985 and has sat in the basement all this time. Bike was bought new in 1973 and the aluminum parts were immediately swapped for lighter plastic accessories for racing. Bike runs well, carb was cleaned but needs to be tuned. I'll work with you if your close but You will not come across another one of these that is unmolested any time soon. Book value is much higher that what I'm asking. I have original manual and title.

This is a clean CZ 400 bought from the orignal owner and the bike still had the original tires on it. I put new tires on it and had a fresh 2nd over bore and piston. I have a beautiful 1975/74 CZ 250 Falta. This bike belonged to the Late Don Matthews. Don was a foremost CZ racer and builder in Ahrma and Pacific Northwest vintage motocross scene. He was a friend and a great person. The CZ World Championships ( Don Matthews) is dedicated to his memory. The title has 1974 CZ. The frame has a falta kit and powder coated. Falta top end 4 speed tranny. Works shocks, aftermarket fenders, brake stay/chain guide. It has bing carb and reed valve box. Aftermarket race pipe. I am not a CZ expert at all!! I tried to race it but after 15 years of 4 stroke racing it just doesn't work for me. There has been a lot of good work done to this bike . The piston port work to the cylinder head, down to the rear brake pedal set up. There was a lot of attention to detail on this build. Please ask questions, I race at the expert level and this bike handles great the forks have had work done to then springs and emulators. Beautifully restored 1975 CZ 250cc Falta Motocrosser Chassis Number: 980 5 000418 Engine Number: 980 5 000381 As a member of the CZ factory racing team, Jaroslav Falta (born 22 March 1951) of the former Czechoslovakia, was one of the top motocross racers of the early 1970s in the F.I.M. 250cc motocross World Championships. He almost won the 1974 250cc world championship, however Russian riders used questionable tactics during the final race of the season to secure the title for Guennady Moisseev. Spectators moved the fences in to tighten the circuit as to restrict Falta! He is best remembered for winning the 1974 Super Bowl of Motocross at the Los Angeles Coliseum, against some of the best riders in the world. When Jaroslav Falta was racing, the situation in his country was not really favourable, but his talent, commitment and his desire to win made him race among the best motocross riders from that time and he conquered some important victories. He was loyal to the Czech bikes and he showed the world that they were winning machines after achieving four Grand Prix victories against the likes of factory riders such as Harry Everts, Joel Robert, Guennady Moiseev, Hakan Andersson and Gaston Rahier. CZ's response was to release a Falta Replica in 250 and 400cc displacement for 1975 featuring the key components of the factory bike and also satisfied CZ's core values of performance and indestructibility. Standard features included the alloy-bodied air shocks, magnesium hubs, lipless alloy rims and a handmade leather belt that secured the aluminum fuel tank. With the single downtube red frame and improved styling, the Falta ditched the agricultural look that CZs were known for. The 1975/76 CZ 250 and 400 Falta Replicas were nearly identical. It can be argued that the Falta Replicas brought the company back to the forefront in motocross, but by 1977, CZ, along with the other European manufactures, was no longer competitive with the Japanese manufacturers. The 1975 CZ 250 MX Falta offered here hails from a fine collection of exotic and rare examples of significant motocross machinery. The matching numbers bike has been on static display for about 10 years and will need minor re-commissioniong to make it fully road and track-worthy. This bike has the red frame, all restored, Falta 'skip-fin' cylinder, longer swingarm with multiple shock positions, longer travel forks with air caps, and with longer wheelbase it offers better high speed capability. Excellent tank, newer fenders, original seat with fresh cover, Mikuni carb conversion and a period custom exhaust--with minor fettling will run great. The bike is offered on a bill of sale.
