Up for sale today is the last of my collection of Yamaha Dt Enduro's and the prize of my vintage collection, (as far as I am concerned). I bought it, along with several others years ago before they were sold off by another collector and heading for Yamaha Museum in California. This is as close to new condition you will ever see again, with no surprises. Runs perfect. I ride it a few miles a month around my neighborhood and makes people stop in their tracks. I have put almost all the miles on it myself, very carefully and they are not a factor in its condition, it is like new. All original, not restored, they are not as good. Kept in climate controlled environment, all rubber, seat etc. like new. Check my feedback for other bikes I sold throughout the years, people are surprised when the get them. I had 27 at one time and this is the last and was my favorite because I was a poor kid and used to dream about having this bike but we could never afford one. Now its just been mainly for admiring and was very hard to decide to sell it. You will never see another like this. Clear title. Matching #s on frame and motor. New oem tires. No negotiations, its worth more than I'm asking and only appreciates in value. I just took these pics for this auction with my iphone, but I have hundreds of pictures, of all my bikes and included a few of some of my others I had, all sold now except this one. I am selling everything because I am going to travel the last years of my life. I have truly enjoyed collecting bikes, but time to move on. Can't think of anything else right now. Classic 81 Yamaha DT175 Enduro This is a Street legal 2 stroke Dual purpose bike The bike is in Excellent condition and runs great When I purchased this bike in 2011 it had not run since 1991. I completely dissembled the engine and reassembled it to make sure everything was good. I am a professional motorcycle builder so I decided to modify the engine to look completely stock but run like a hotrod. The bike stock is about 15HP this one is more like 20HP. Rev's out higher and quicker and pulls strong throughout the entire RPM range. Engine modifications; -Professionally ported cylinder -Reworked milled head -Oversize reed block ( Yamaha Banshee ) -26mm Mikuni Carburetor ( looks like stock 2mm larger ) -Modified exhaust system ( For more RPM's ) -Modified silencer ( more free flowing ) -First oversize Yamaha piston Please ask all Questions before bidding. This bike has a clear, clean WA State Title & Plates last tab 2016. Was used for short trips, with two 100 mile road trips and performed excellent. About 95 MPG. in very nice shape, and runs great. I was disabled in 2015, and afraid to ride it on the road because of it's vintage status and chance getting it stolen. This bike came with the rare vintage teardrop gas tank (less than a gallon) which give it the "look". The gas tanks is clean and not rusted. Some very minor paint blemishes, and one minor seat tear, not patched (yet). New OEM tires and tubes installed 2012. Original Yamaha tool kit in bag under seat. This bike never had any major engine or transmission repairs. Some minor clean up, new hoses, battery, and OEM replacement carburetor with fuel shutoff (original carb is supplied with bike) The original rear turn signals are supplied with sale, and it is shown with rubberized turn signals to prevent damage. All electrical and mechanical items function normally (even the horn). The bike has been kept in good maintenance by myself using the best oils. and non-ethanol gas when available. It is easy to start and generally starts first kick. It runs excellent and shifts through all the gears smoothly. Brakes have been kept adjusted. Great throttle response and a healthy sounding motor with only a little under 4000 original miles. This bike is ready to get on , ride, and enjoy. Bridgestone 1966 DT175 Twin cylinder, automatic oil injection, twin carbs, dual transmissions, dual rotary valve engine. Manufactured in the 60's by BRIDGESTONE TIRE CO. As the legend is told, with the success of Honda in the American market, Bridgestone Tire Co. decided to enter the motorcycle craze by manufacturing a twin cylinder, two stroke that was a very innovative bike for its' time! Twin cylinder, twin carbs, (totally enclosed) twin transmission, a 4 speed for city and 5 speed for hwy. automatic oil injection, no more mixing. After 5-6 years, so told, Honda, Yamaha, and Kaw. went to Bridgestone and said " we are buying all our bike tires from you, now do we need to build our own tire plant or do you want to be in the motorcycle or tire business!" So Bridgestone phased out the motorcycle production, The bikes were built in their tire plants and they had never developed the dealerships like Honda. They were innovative bikes for their time, chrome cylinders, more chrome on the bikes, can be started in gear, etc. This is a early 1966 DT175 model that was found in storage since 79' or 80'. The 175 was equal to the Honda 350 in power and take off! The bike is quick! It is an all original bike as found with the following exceptions, I cleaned it up, installed new battery, plugs, changed the fluids etc. and got it to running. Tires are old and need replaced! I replaced the seat cover, the foam, padding and underlining cover were in excellent shape. I have had bike at 70+ MPH and it gets up quick! but with old tires and an old man....well they don't mix. Lights work HI/LOW, excellent brakes, taillight, brake lights, horn and is a great handling bike! THE BAD: (1) I am not a two-stroke guy, so my abilities are limited! (2) The bike does smoke on the right side (its' 2 stroke) and blow a little oil out the right pipe. From research on excellent site for these bikes, "Richard's Relics -Bridgestone" the old school guys tell me that it is the rotary seal that is letting oil by-pass from the crank case, an easy fix so they say. I will include a new seal for the buyer. I will include a copy of a 1966 DT175 owners manual, a Bridgestone service manual, a parts manual, parts catalog manual, various service letters, Clymer service manual for the DT 175. This is an extremely rare Bridgestone 175 Dual Twin. I believe it is a 1968 because it has the oil injection system, but I don't guarantee the year. It is a project bike and is being sold for parts or repair. This bike would make a great restoration project. There is no title and bike will be sold with a "Bill of Sale". Bike only comes with the items that are pictured. It is missing a muffler and a side cover, and there may be more missing also. Engine is seized. Awesome vintage off-road trail blazing street machine! This bike rocks, the end! Bike starts on first or second kick, runs great, goes down the road beautifully, and did I mention it rocks!? Make no mistake, even though it looks good, this bike has been ridden and shows a little wear. But it also looks like it was put in storage 20 years ago waiting for you to take her out and rip some trails. Please look at all pictures to evaluate condition for yourself and while you're doing that picture yourself on this bad-boy, boom-box in hand, blaring Lynyrd Skynyrd!(I in no way condone driving a motorcycle while listing to a boom-box. I'm ready to let go of my little play bike. It's been really fun teaching some girls and smaller gentlemen how to ride but they're all grown up now and riding heavy bikes. 1981 DT125 but I've removed all of the lights and wiring and gauges as my friends have fallen over and broken them. It still has the stator but nothing connected to it. They've been known to produce 12volts under 3000 rpm through the lighting coil even through the bike had a 6volt system. I laced an 18" rim to an extra front him and installed it to lower the seat height, increase steering feel, and use a fatter tire than most 21" offerings. Lost about 1/2" ground clearance but otherwise it works great. One spoke broke in the process. I still have the factory 21" front wheel with a pretty good condition tire installed. Front fender is from an IT175. Bark busters so the levers survive some tip-overs. I'm 6'5" and 200lbs and I've taken this up the same gnarly trails where I ride my big bike. Im not trying too hard to sell. It's still a fun loaner and learner. Located in Grantsville but I work in Centerville and I'd be happy to bring it with me to work if you interested in checking it out.
