This is a great running powerful 900SS the previous owner told me it has Imola cams. This bike came from Canada and I have logged many miles upon it. Its a blast to ride and goes like the great Bevel Desmo it is. You should expect the paint is not original and the original headlight is cracked. Please look over the photo's and ask questions, for serious buyers the bike is available to be seen. Life has become too busy to maintain my motorcycles, so it's time to share a few with others. Up for sale is my beloved RED 2003 Ducati Supersport 800 SS. How can a Ducati be in any color other than RED :-) I have always cared for all my motorcycles lovingly so this one is in excellent condition for its age. I've owned many ducatis over years and I've always like this model for its balance between sport and everyday usability. It's also one of the most sexy Ducati designs with its flowing organic lines. Here are some info: 5,641 milesThis is the 2003 model which is the first year it went to the 620, 800 & 1000 cc configuration. This also mean it's the best year since the bike retains it's high-end suspension while also upgrading the engine.The 2003 retained the beefy aluminum swing-arm and 3-way adjustable front and rear suspension. While the uninformed buyer may see that a bike is a newer model year, they may not understand this very crucial detail if they are remotely interested in performance. The later model SS uses the lower end swing-arm with limited adjustable front and rear suspension.The major (e.g. 6,000 mile) service by Desmoto-Sport in San Francisco and was done at 4,021 miles because that I am particular about my maintenance; This includes the cam belts and the service runs about $700.802 cc Desmodue engineMechanically, it runs great and starts up right away. There is some minor pooling of oil at the base of the cylinder head, but the mechanic said it's pretty normal for these engines. That's Italian engineering, and it's run fine.I've replaced the exhaust cans with Viper slip-on which sounds nice and deep; just like a Ducati should.Battery is always on a tender, and has a new battery.All the eletronics and instrumentation work great.Tires are Dunlop Q2s with about 3,000 miles on them.Cosmestically, it looks great too. See the photos. There are some small rock pitting and a scrape at the lower edge of the fairing chin. The left lower fairing rubs against the exhaust header and has caused some melting of the inside of the fairing before I noticed it and placed exhaust insulation to separate the contact. It has stopped further issues.I've upgrade the mirror which include LED turn signals, so the OEM front signals have been eliminated for better looks. The LED is not running with capacitors so the blink rate has increased.The rear fender has been eliminated and rear turn signals replaced with lower profile design.The bike has never been dropped.Please look closely at the pictures as they are part of the description.
