I'm selling this bike because my fiance worries about me riding motorcycles. This bike runs perfectly. I bought it in like-new condition (the fairing on the left top side was cracked and some light scuffs were generally apparent), with only 935 miles. Since then I have put almost 15,000 miles on it, and had no mechanical trouble except for a broken clutch cable. The bike faithfully gets 55-60 mpg, even when I drive mostly at 60+ mph speeds on the freeway. The tank holds about 5 gallons, so you have an almost 300-mile range! Back when I was willing to break the speed limits, I took this bike to about 90 mph without hitting the 13000 rpm redline (according to http://faq.ninja250.org/wiki/What%27s_the_redline_of_my_bike%27s_engine%3F, the redline is actually 14000 rpm). So, I know it's very capable. The bike is stable and nowhere near its full power potential even at freeway speed limits. As I mentioned above, the fairing is cracked on the left top side. There are minor scratches and wear around the bike. There is surface rust on the clutch cable sleeve. The clutch cable itself was replaced after the original broke. Since replacement of the clutch cable a couple of years ago (a few thousand miles ago), the bike has had zero mechanical issues. Note that since this bike is carbureted, you do need to be careful to "winter" the engine if you won't be running it for more than a week or so. Fuel stabilizer works very effectively, and if you do leave the bike with gas in the lines for a few weeks, you can still nurse it back to top running order if you take 30 minutes to gently start it up the next time. The current tires (Dunlop - very good) will need replacement soon. I believe the current battery is the original (I've never replaced it), but it hasn't given me any trouble. Again, this bike runs perfectly - it's very agile, quick, easy to handle, and has a comfortable upright seating position by comparison with most sports bikes. The title is clean, and I'll be prepared to hand it over upon your purchase. Please bring the form (130-U, I think) so that we can transact the purchase. Purchase terms: I will accept cash, cashier's check, or money order. Delivery: I prefer that you pick up the bike, but I have a pick up truck and am willing to help you deliver the bike somewhere in the Houston area, after payment. Because the bike was so young when I bought it, I believe I'm the only person to have changed the oil. The last change or two, I switched to full synthetic oil. With the bike come several freebies, including the following:Black fabric motorcycle cover for exterior protection (it's visible in the pictures). This cover is not fully waterproof and has one small hole in the front, but does provide some protection from rain, and definitely protects from sun, dust, etc. One men's First Gear brand blue mesh rider's jacket. It was recently dry-cleaned. It keeps you cool, even in the heat of Houston summer, as long as you're moving about 10-15 mph or faster. One U-bolt lock for locking up the wheel. I like extra security, so I used this lock to supplement the motorcycle's still-perfectly-functional steering lock. Original tool set that came with the bike (see photo for contents), including screwdriver, wrench, pliers, etc. Search terms: Kawk Ninja 250r ex250 250f 2005 blue orange First Gear mesh jacket clean title sportbike sport bike sportsbike Below are stats I pulled on the 2005 Kawasaki Ninja 250R from http://www.bikez.com/motorcycles/kawasaki_ninja_250_r_2005.php: Kawasaki's profilation of this bikeThe NINJA® 250R is one of Kawasaki’s best-selling motorcycles due to its sporty styling, agility, lightweight and excellent handling.
