1988 Harley XL Sportster project bike. Clean title in my name. Originally an 883 model but I also have a set of 1200 cylinders and pistons that I intended on installing. I began taking the bike apart for the 1200 upgrade so the bike is partially disassembled. Many extras listed below. Set of 1200 cyclinders and pistons. Extra side covers. New gasket set. New alternator/clutch basket (NIB).Set of drag pipes. Ultima ignition and coil. Shocks from a touring model.Extra set of bars.Bike is straight and I was riding the bike before starting the upgrades. Everything is ready for someone to finish the project.

Up for your consideration is a numbers matching 1972 Harley Davidson Ironhead sportster 1000cc basket case. Been collecting parts for a while but too many projects so gonna sell off a few. Engine cases are split, have been repaired blasted by a shop specializing in engine case repairs ( starter went out on P.O. and front corner of primary side of case was damaged ) Ready for some new bearings and re-assembly!Crank has been trued, 4 speed trans is intact and was checked for factory tolerances, cams and lifters are in good shape.Frame is in great shape, no molested or chopped in any way.Have both the original swing arm and a 84 disk break swing arm as I was going to run disk in the back and no front brake.Cylinders could use a hone but bore not required, was going to clean up hone and re-ring pistons for reassembly.Heads are original, everything had good compression before tearing down for case repairs.Valve covers have pitting and case covers a small amount as well, was planning on sanding and repainting anyway so never bothered finding nicer chrome.Clutch was working fine.No starter, as the old one detonated.Fork seals are decent.Generator included, unknown condition.New coil pack includedNew points cover includedNo Tins, no wheels. ( -minus oil tank/battery holder see picture - has some pitting )New engine gasket set includedPrinted copy of an original 1972 Ironhead service manual includedClean FL title in my name.I'm sure there are a few parts I am forgetting, if you have any questions shoot me a message. Don't waste my time with a super low offer, not hurting for cash. Buyer pays shipping, may be willing to deliver within 100 miles for a small fee. Ride safe.

- Good project or minimal investment rider. Currently runs poorly after sitting with bad gas for more than a year. Carb needs additional cleaning. When carb is working properly this bike runs extremely well. - Runs really strong and I was told it has a 1200 conversion kit but the jugs are stamped 883 so maybe bored over in a machine shop? Don't know for sure and haven't verified it. Rips down the road faster than an 883 should though. - Has a new battery - Has a new rear tire with maybe 150 miles on it - Has a 2000's 1200 solid rear wheel - Biltwell Slimline risers and Biltwell Mustache handlebars - Vance and Hines slip-ons - Primary gasket leaks - liquid gasket included along with a quart of gear oil - Petcock does not seal - new petcock included - Carb is still a little gunked up and needs to be cleaned again - Gallon of carb cleaner included - Overall wiring is not great. No blinks, Starter wired through a side mounted momentary button. Harness, relays etc. need to be protected better than they are. Has a headlight kill switch mounted at the neck stem. - Tank is good with a chip in the paint. Front fender is trashed from the clutch cable catching on it one time and having some other rashing on the paint. Rear fender is fair. Side bullet tail/brakes lights wired to foot brake switch only (no handlebar wiring) - I have a Biltwell Tuck n Roll Cafe seat brand new for it that I will include for an extra $100. $175 list price.Message me for additional info.

1988 Harley Davidson XL Sportster 1200 cc. Maroon in color. Has a few scratches in paint. Has a blown head gasket....just one. Gas tank has a hole in it and will not be sold with the bike. There is a new tank to be sold with the bike. Also will come with another exhaust system. The original works fine, just have a spare. Only rode this bike a few times and timed wrong and blew one of the head gaskets. Just don't have the time to fix it or ride it anymore. It is a great bike. It rode and drove great! Hate to let it go but it would be perfect for any serious lover of bikes! Only has 5766 miles on it! If you have questions or require more info, please feel free to contact me.

I acquired this machine a few months ago, and brought it back to stock form, from race trim, using the parts that came with it.( The pictures showing the stock parts as found are the ones used on this machine, there is not a extra set). The original owner bought this machine new in New York, and campaigned it successfully at Englishtown drag strip and at Atco drag strip, racking up at least 6 documented class wins in Pro Stock. It was then parked in 1974. The original new York inspection sticker is still on the fork tube, The Kendall and S-K tools stickers were due to them being track sponsors in that period. All the spares were wrapped in SOCKS. I started it 2 days after it was recovered, and it is running on the original points and plugs, which was accomplished with only a carb clean and fluid change, and it is still running and you can drive it home on the original plugs and points. ( I will also supply a new set of points, condenser, etc.). The spares that will be included, (pictures are within the link I will provide ) which include the original owners track side tool box , NOS spokes, ( ONE SET ) factory shock tool, some hand made tools of his, NOS cam cover or primary screws, and too many other numerous spares to list. Some of these are NOS spark plugs, (around 5 or 6) 3 NOS countershaft sprockets, , NOS carb rebuild kit, all of the race parts I removed, the original front tire, the drag slick, the machined aluminum struts, drag pipes, the owners running notes and notebook, the service manual, the spare parts book, and the 1973 supplement. I will also include as much of I can from my stock of engine gaskets. All the indicator lights are functional. I replaced a couple of the lenses with NOS ones. It is charging properly, shifts and clutches properly as well, and does not smoke. I removed the spark plugs to inspect the cylinders, and with the pistons TDC, it shows new pistons with no visible carbon. ( See the owners notes about Dytch piston fitment). I can not guarantee these are Dytch pistons, as I did not disassemble any part of the motor, but what I see leads me to believe they are. I also suspect cams, a racing clutch, and stroker flywheels ( again see the notations the original owner noted in the bore and stroke specifications photo, where he noted a different bore and stroke next to the factory specs. The original key switch was inop, ( Still has factory paper isolator intact on the back side of it. ) so I bought a original switch that works, but it drops the keys, so for now it is running on a accessory after market switch.( No wires were cut, and the original dis- assembled switch and the replacement original I bought are also included ). The paper disc isolator is still intact behind the rear brake light switch, as well as the yellow dot on the carb ( factory marked). I installed a new air filter, 2 tires and tubes, and a new headlight bulb, and new battery. I chose to leave the patina as best I could , while waxing as much of it as well, to preserve it as is. There is a 2 inch nick in the very back of the seat (shown in pics), not through to the foam, It is my opinion, this machine would score the high 90's if judged, and will win your local show hands down. The title was transferred Monday last week, and a copy kept of the original. I have written a log of all I have done as well, as well as extra photographs of it in progress. If you are interested in purchasing, please feel free to contact me. The NADA blue book is 8750.00, and with all the documented history, NOS spares, and the race parts included, we feel it exceeds that. The video of it running has some lag in the sound due to being too close with the camera microphone. It does rev quite nicely. The head gaskets show a little seepage, but all it may need is torqued down, I was focused on making it start. I will add a complete top end gasket set to be sure if it needs it you have . I will consider doing that myself if some arrangement is made, contact me for details. ( In reality, though, re-gasketing a top end is a no-brainer) It is, in essence, a time capsule. I am not accepting any trades. Please contact me with your email for a video of it running the first 2 days it was recovered . Thank you for looking, I hope you enjoy. here is the link to additional photographs- http://s1381.photobucket.com/user/Bruce_Kiper/library/ Here is a video I described, I failed to post the first time. This was 2 days after I purchased this year. https://youtu.be/XXrKHOFJAAo I will assist in International shipping as well.

YOU ARE BIDDING ON A CUSTOM THAT WAS ORIGINALLY ASSEMBLED BACK IN THE LATE 70'S. (LOTS OF PETINA HERE..) I'VE TRIED NOT TO DISTURB MUCH BUT AT THE SAME TIME MAKE IT SAFE FOR THE ROAD.. FOR STARTERS, IT HAS A CLEAR TITLE WITH A NY STATE VIN TAG ( PICTURED). I'M ALMOST POSITIVE THE ENGINE IS A 1969, THE FRAME A 1974. MOST RECENT WORK DONE (WITHIN THE PAST YEAR) HAS BEEN CLEAN AND REBUILD CARBURETOR, CLEAN AND REBUILD MAGNETO INCLUDING NEW BATTERY,CAP AND MOST INTERNALS, NEW TIRES & TUBES AND FRESH FLUIDS..THIS BIKE RUNS WELL BUT WILL STILL NEED A FEW THINGS. IT HAS A TIN OUTER PRIMARY THAT LEAKS (SHOCKER), NEW GASKET SHOULD HELP. BRAKES ARE GOOD BUT NEED SOME ADJUSTMENT. THIS BIKE IS A PRETTY COOL LOOKING PIECE FROM THE 70'S, IT EVEN HAS A CHROME FRAME, FRONT AND REAR FENDERS TOO.. SO WITH A LITTLE TLC AND A FEW HOURS SOMEONE COULD MAKE IT A VERY SPECIAL RIDE... FEEL FREE TO CALL OR EMAIL VINCE WITH ANY QUESTIONS AND I WILL DO MY BEST TO ANSWER THEM. 914-592-2200. THE BIKE IS LOCATED IN ELMSFORD, NEW YORK. I CAN ALSO ASSIST WITH SHIPPING IF NEEDED. GOOD LUCK AND THANKS FOR LOOKING..

This is a 1975 Harley Davidson Sportster 1000cc. This bike has a few custom parts. It has a left side shift and is a kick start. She runs but as of right now has a small oil leak. The oil leak seems to be coming from a gasket from the transmission casing. The front hand brake needs to be flared as well. The bike was rode in CT, there is no speedometer or gauges on this bike. If interested please call me. I would rather answer any questions over the phone than on here. Please ask for Neil Provost Sr. @ 860-578-7270. I am located in CT, 06076. Near Ct /MA Border

up for bids is a nice old skool hardtail sportster. bike has less then 5 miles on many of the new parts. the only reason for selling is that I got hurt at work less then a week after I bought it and I am no longer able to kick it over. the bike is kick start only and will start cold with 3 or 4 kicks. the only problem with the bike I have found is the primary case leaks and needs a new gasket. the following is a list of some of the new parts on bike; new wheels and tires, voltage regulator, fwd controls, ignition switch, battery and cables, coil, crane hi-4 electronic ignition, generator, fork bace, chain and all new brakes. and a lot more. if you have any questions feel free to call me at 919=-344=-1785. thanx for your intrest, jeff
