Very uncommon find. 1993 model Yamaha FZR-600 sportbike in completely stock, unmolested, original condition with only 7,600 miles since new. Most of these incredible machines seemed to have found their way onto the racetrack or were beaten to death and highly modified by abusive riders... this particular example was fortunately spared from that type of undesirable life. Only two owners and always garaged and maturely ridden. Finished in a visually striking period-90's paint scheme, prepare to receive a whole lot of attention riding this one around... it absolutely swivels heads and garners attention like you wouldn't believe! Every time you stop somewhere people want to get a closer look or to talk about it. Let's talk originality for a moment. Just how original is it? Well, the battery has obviously been replaced and a new, correct Bridgestone rear tire was installed, but otherwise the machine is very nearly as it left the factory in Japan 21 years ago. Original windscreen, hand grips, warning decals, tool kit, reflectors, chain & sprockets, brake pads... you get the picture. While this FZR may appear black in color at first glance, look closer (particularly outdoors) and the deep metallic blue paint is stunning. There's no noted sun fade anywhere with the text on the controls and gauges crisp and legible. The ultra-rare color matching rear seat cowl is intact and excellent. You'll even receive the original owners manual, safety guide and a period factory dealers brochure (see photos). A costly recent full service was performed to rejuvenate the machine from extended storage. This included an oil change, complete DOT4 brake fluid flush, chain lubrication and adjustment, coolant flush, control lubrication, carburetor cleaning and a general 'once-over' throughout. Starts instantly with zero smoke even when ice cold. Shifting is flawless. The fuel tank is rust-free. Goes down the road like we'd imagine it must've 20+ years ago. One ride is all it takes to see why these were (and still are) incredibly popular classic machines. Telepathic handling coupled with outstanding brakes and very smooth throttle response make for a very rewarding experience. The factory selected gearing is perfect and the engine is still surprisingly powerful even by modern standards. Unfortunately at some point over the years the bike did experience a very low speed tipover on the left side. In the interest of maintaining total originality, none of these areas have been repaired or 'doctored' in any way. The easily replaceable aluminum stator cover has scrapes on it. The plastic mid-cowling has some noted scratched/scuffed areas (see photos) and the left portion of the upper has a few scratches and thin cracks. Inspected with a microscope you'll also find various other tiny nicks, scuffs, or hairline scratches consistent with careful use of any 20+ year old machine. At any real viewing distance none of this is hugely noticeable or takes away dramatically from the eye appeal of the machine, but obviously warrants full disclosure. Fact is, these minor cosmetics are truly the only thing separating this FZR from near perfection and it has been priced accordingly. Why ride what everyone else rides? You'll see 1,000 Ninja's, CBR's and GSXR's out on the road before you ever see another one of these. You'd have to search long and hard to find another one this clean, unabused, and original... not to mention affordable. We will leave it to the discretion of the next proud owner to either fix these small areas or simply enjoy the bike exactly the way it is and for what it is... a sportbike from another era... a cool 21-year old motorcycle time capsule. Keep in mind, older Japanese motorcycles have been consistently and strongly gaining in value. With that said, you're purchasing much more than just a motorcycle here, but an excellent future investment that isn't likely to depreciate and can be enjoyed anytime you wish. Depending on your state, this FZR also may now qualify for inexpensive classic insurance. Clear NJ title. We request a small deposit via PayPal, remaining payment via cash.
