About Me | See my other items | Email A Friend Description of [1966 BMW R50/2 for sale] For sale or trade vintage 1966 BMW R50/2. Triple matching frame, tag and engine numbers, clean title, original paint. Bike equipped with Denfeld dual seat and chrome, luggage rack, front headlight bumper. This Beemer runs and rides excellent and needs nothing but a new loving owner. There are original 61K miles on the clock, original paint with pinstriper initials under the tank (R). The motor was overhauled in 1981 and only 3k miles ago with full folder of available receipts. Did I mention, one owner bike with original 1966 title and service records and pictures from 1966 and 2014 to back up the story. New black, Werker 6V battery installed recently (9/2014), recent tune up included checked and adjusted valves, cleaned carbs, set timing....bike starts in 1 kick and runs like a champ. Bike comes with 2 ignition keys, tire pump, owners manual and set of tools. I have ridden the bike and shifted all 4 gears. It rides very well and is pleasure to operate. Tires in good shape although show signs of dry rot on the sidewalls, some nicks and scratches, small dents on front and rear fenders. Front wheel needs to be trued as it wobbles a bit but nothing very noticeable. Electrical components all work as intended including the lights and horn. Please look closely at the photos and video as they are an important part of the description. Please ask questions before bidding should you have any. We make every effort, to accurately describe items and their condition, and have an extensive track record of accuracy. About Me | See my other items | Email A Friend Description of [For sale 1967 BMW R60/2 ] IF YOU "BUY IT NOW" AND FOLLOW UP WITH THE TRANSACTION WE WILL SHIP THE BIKE TO LOWER 48 STATES FREE OF CHARGE. IF AN OFFER IS SUBMITTED AND ACCEPTED THE BUYER WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING CHARGES BUT WE WILL HELP YOU WITH THE SHIPPING CHORES. FOR SALE A 1967 BMW R60/2. It is a very nice and all serviced up bike. I have notes of the service work that have been performed by the previous owner in 03/1993 and only 500 miles ago. See the last pic for extensive maintenance record. "The BMW R 60/2 VIN 1812208 was manufactured on December 15th, 1966 and delivered on December 16th, 1966 to the BMW importer Butler & Smith in New York City. The bike was equipped with a bench seat." Bike was sold originally in 1967 hence it was titled as 1967 and that was a common practice back in the days. Matching frame, engine, tag and title numbers. It is a very honest bike, one of the nicest riding and looking pre-1970 BMW bikes I have had in my collection. It is all original bike w/o any mods. This bike has been stored in various conditions in its life and it shows. It is quite clean machine, not perfect but a great every day runner. The motor has had a recent top end disassembled, inspected, one helicoil professionally installed at the machine shop for the right side spark plug. New rings were installed, new top end gaskets and seals, torqued back to factory specs. Valves and timing was set, carbs re-adjusted. Clutch and brakes work well, gearbox goes through all 4 gears as it should. Lights, also all work as intended. I disassembled the horn, cleaned but did not get it to work, I will try again but no promises. Bike may need new rear tire as I have noticed some weather cracking, front tire is like new. Starts easily as the cold start video shows, runs and rides excellent! "The Earles Forks and opposing cylinder engine always get a lot of attention." Please look closely at the Photos and Video below as they are an important part of the description. Please ask questions before bidding should you have any. Rare 1951 German Made Triumph TWN BDG 125 German made. $5500 OR BEST OFFER. The Triumph motorcycles started in England in 1902 to the present day by a German gentleman. They were also made in Germany from 1903 to 1957. The German models went by several different names. In 1951 the name went back to Triumph or TWN "Triumph Werke Nuremburg" This is a model BDG. The BDG's came as 250 cc and 125cc. These bikes are very popular in Germany and parts are readily available through several different sites. This bike started as a complete bike. It went through a complete nut and bolt restoration, including a complete motor and transmission rebuild, frame powder coating, and tank and fenders paint. There is a lot of re-chroming. The only draw-back is there are a few minor flaws, slight scratches in the paint. Some touch-up paint would fix it fairly well. It is 100% original except for the custom made leather seat. There is a new OEM seat included. There is a new wiring harness, all new cables, and a new battery. Things left to do are install the new wiring harness (included), and hook up the clutch cable. It is mostly together with only a few new parts needed: Rear axle (A vintage BSA axle was used, it's too wide but works), Rubber grips on the rear passenger pegs, Tank Knee Pad bracket (new knee pads included), Tires (New tires but they are not vintage correct. They are the correct size 2. 75x19 but they are too wide and may rub the fender slightly. The correct tires are about $140 each.), and a few small odds and ends such as a little arm that attaches to the clutch cable and motor. I have a pile of extra parts. Buyer will probably have one of the rarest and most unique Triumphs in the Country. It comes with an owners manual and a parts booklet. Sold with a Bill-of-Sale, but no title (this was a vintage restoration). This is a real conversation piece. It could be put on display in a man cave, or taken out to ride.**Local buyers preferred. However, if shipping is needed, buyer is responsible for cost and arrangements. Will accept cash (in person only) or cashiers check. No personal checks accepted. Serious inquiries only!

1975 MAICO GS400– ALL ORIGINAL SURVIVOR! 134 ORIGINAL MILES, FRAME # 341016, ENGINE # K407112, TWO OWNERS FROM NEW, TITLE INCLUDED, RUNS AND RIDES 96 Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE Maicowerk A.G. was a West German motorcycle manufacturer. Founded in 1926 by Ulrich Maistch as Maistch & Co, the company originally manufactured 98 and 123 cc Ilo two stroke engines. After Worls War II, they began producing their own unit construction two-stroke engines, selling complete motorcycles. Maico made a brief foray into the automobile business with their own line of microcars in the late 1950s. Maico have also made go kart engines. The road motorcycles were named after winds... 'Blizzard', 'Typhoon' etc., but the company was better known for its purpose-built Motocross and Enduro machines, and for its 'Maicoletta' motor scooter, both of which sold in higher numbers than the road motorcycles. Maico Racing Motorcycles: Maico motocross (MC) and enduro (GS) racing models proved very successful in both European and American competition throughout the 1970s. While lacking the financial capital and big money race-team backing like that of the Japanese factories of Honda, Yamaha, Suzuki, and Kawasaki, Maico riders such as Adolf Weil, Ake Jonsson, and Willy Bauer proved to be a serious challenge to the Japanese factories and produced numerous top three finishes in the Motocross World Championships. The firm also experienced some success in Grand Prix road racing competitions with rider Borje Jansson winning three 125cc Grand Prix races between1972 and 1973. American publication Motocross Action called the 1981 Maico Mega 2 - 490cc the greatest open-class motocross bike of all time. The 1974.5 400cc and 440cc GP, 1978/79 250cc Magnum and 1981 490cc models along with any year 501cc motocross bike are also some of the most sought-after vintage MX and twin-shock motorcycles to this day. One of the visual modernizations of the Maico off-road motorcycles was the move from a "coffin" style tank in 1974 to a "teardrop" style tank in 1978/79 on bikes like the 250 Magnum. The bikes later moved to plastic tanks in 1980 with the Mega 490. One of the largest contributions to the world of motocross suspension technology came in the 1974 season when the Wheelsmith Motorcycles team in the USA and the Gunther Schier teams in Europe forward-mounted the rear shocks on the Maico factory-backed motorcycles, immediately increasing the travel and ability to trump the competition. This initiated a frantic effort on the part of factory teams and privateers alike; chopping up their frames in a desperate attempt to remain competitive. Maicowerk AG filed for bankruptcy in 1983, but continued to produce small numbers of motocross and enduro models (re-badged as M-Stars in the United States due to legal issues) up through 1986. Subsequent manufacturers have purchased the brand name and applied it to their own limited production motorcycles. Modern open-class dirt-bikes are still being produced under the Maico brandname. The ATK Intimidator dirt-bike (reportedly the most powerful production 2 stroke motorcycle available aside from Maico's own motorcycles) features a Maico motor. After the company went out of business in 1986, its assets were taken over by a Dutch company, but to this day retains a strong cult following. Many riders restore vintage Maicos for display or to take back to the track.
