Based in Glendale, CA Navarro Engineering became one of the premier speed shops for classic American hot rods and lake bed racing. Mr. Navarro is known as one of the founding fathers of hot rodding, an engineer by trade but was highly successful in other fields such as medical equipment; he excelled in personally machining performance parts for flat head V8’s. He was a founding member of the Glendale Strokers car club, whose members included some of the most prominent lake bed racers and record holders in that era. The San Fernando Valley became the epicenter of hot rodding culture with local residents like Von Dutch collaborating to create some of the fastest and most stylish hot rods in the country. This legendary truck appears to be the one and only Navarro Shop Truck used from the 1960’s forward to pick up and deliver parts to and from the speed shop. We did speak with a descendent of Mr. Navarro who informed us, the truck was sold many years ago after his death. The company lives on today as H&H Flatheads, while we do not have any documentation as such we can tell you this is one bitch’n truck that gets more looks than a fully restored one! The wooden bed is in great condition, with no rot or damage visible. The body panels are solid with minor surface rust found on upon closer inspection. There are several dings and dents to be found, however they only add to the character of this trusty steed. This truck is intended to allude to the 1960 GMC ½-Ton truck Barney Navarro was given by General Motors to help develop their newest 305ci V6; as seen in his Motor Life review. We will not be responsible for buyer’s remorse or problems found to said vehicle once they have left our property. We are just being realistic; most of the cars we deal in are vintage and by their very nature will need TLC and some degree of attention sooner or later. These are not new cars and your expectation should not be of a perfect, new car. Once full payment has been received, Seller will email or fax a copy of clear title, Bill of Sale, Buyers Guide and additional DMV forms to the Buyer to sign and return via email or fax. The fully-executed forms must be returned to the Seller prior to the shipment of said vehicle. The vehicle may not have more than 75 additional miles on the odometer from the time it left our possession and be returned in the same condition that it left.
