Those were the years with cookouts on weekends, kegs of beer left next to the grill with stacks of cups. We’re pretty sure we enjoyed those years as well but no one here remembers how many bikes we sold. The Barnett family has been in the motorcycle business since 1973, and all five of us are still in the store every day, including 81-year-old business founder Sherman Barnett and his wife Christy who still both race 800 hp dirt track cars twice a week. This bike started life as a 1978 GS 750. Now it is a cafe racer, custom work done to the tank, exhaust, carb, and intakes... not to mention of course cosmetics and other work. I just put in a new battery, and the tires are fairly new good. I don't driver her daily but I don't see why you couldn't. She is a real head turner... and is quick. If you want to add to your collection, attract attention, or just have a piece of artwork for the garage this is your bike.

Up for auction is my recently built 1982 Honda cb750. First and foremost this bike is a rider, it was built for greater braking handling and acceleration it is meant to go and less show, however with that said this bike and I have been featured recently in Pipeburn's publications along with being re-posted all over the web and won some trophies in vintage classes at local bike shows, but again its a very clean great looking bike but is not perfect it is after all made mostly with recycled parts from other bikes. Copy and paste this to get to the Pipeburn article: pipeburn.com/home/2015/09/28/honda-cb750-charlie-james-customs.html I wanted to add that I really hate to see this bike go so soon would love to keep it longer for it's publicity but really looking to expand into a bigger building trying to grow our name right now and have other projects I would like to complete, and some one is going to get one heck of a custom CB that not only will grab attention where ever it goes but also has the riding ability to back it up. I could write a book on the efforts to make a bike like this but will just hit the main things: Engine is stock with exception of CB900f camshafts new valve cover gasket, timing/valves adjusted, engine covers polished new gaskets for covers as well as Alloy Bolts hardware. Front end is from a early 90's CBR 600 f2, stock cb750 stem pressed and welded onto cbr lower tree, upper yoke, forks (new fluid and seals), rim, calipers, rotors, fender etc... all from F2. Rear end is mid 90's CBR 600 F3, swing arm, 5" rear wheel with new 48t sprocket, custom shims for pivot bolt, new 530x112 chain, caliper, rotor, etc... Bike Master 7/8 superbike bars mounted to upper tree using vintage KTM bar mounts. 1978 Suzuki GS 550 gas tank with new Pingel Racing petcock adapter plate to run 3/8 male npt type petcocks new Harley style chrome petcock.(paint and prep on tank is good but not perfect) The Bonneville Shop 7" carbon head light bucket added a Halogen lamp that has built in leds wired as front indicators. Carbon looking bar ends and levers. Cone type filters with stainless bands instead of big hose clamps. The hand controls/switches I pulled off a bike I parted out I'm almost positive it was a early 2000's Katana. Polished upper tree and engine side covers not mirror polish didn't want chrome shine but they look great and there is a lot of time into them sanding and polishing. AceWell digital speedometer 3700mx has speed tachometer hi beam indicator neutral light + more not there best but very fitting for this type of machine. Honda cbr rear sets with new foot rests (pegs).. Custom sub frame with a very comfortable coffee bean color cafe style seat with a small wrapped hump. Dunlop Sport Max Q2 tires 180/55/17 rear and 120/70/17 front. Integrated Led tail light strip with signals. New old stock OEM Suzuki gas cap for tank. New ytx9bs AGM battery in a fabricated battery box located under bike, behind rear of engine also using a Suzuki battery strap. Vance and Hines Vintage 4into1 in great shape with baffles in tact very nice sound and loud when you open it up New jets from Dime City 70/122 this combo has been working great for me here in Ohio obviously if you take the bike to different elevation or cold/hotter/humid etc.. it may need adjusted to your area. Inside of carbs cleaned inspected replaced some hardware out sides brushed off and lightly solvent cleaned but the engine cases and carbs still have there original finish so there is dirt/grime chips to finish on motor, I really don't like to paint motors always feels like your hiding something this bike has been around for 30+ years its heart (engine) earned that finish! Stock wire harness has been shortened but everything is still there everything is neatly tucked wrapped and hidden, under tank houses flasher relay, fuse panel and solenoid, under the sub frame towards front of seat mounted are the igniters and r/r. There is labeled wires in the headlight bucket for a horn they are already wired to the switch I can even throw in a used horn if your state requires one, I thought maybe get a new small one and hide it in the bucket itself should be enough room. I am sure I didn't touch on every little detail like new bearings and hardware through out but I imagine you get the most of it and there is a walk around video plus lot's of pictures. Being as it is a old bike there is no warranty but you and whoever owns the bike in the future will get and endless supply of help with any questions about the bike how things were done I will even work on the bike maintenance if your near by or can bring it to me. Basically whatever support I can give and others who have bought my bikes metal art etc... can attest to that. Any questions just ask and thanks for looking. Nice bike. Frame and all metal parts custom powder coated a deep dark metallic blue. Not distracting or gaudy at all - subtle and awesome looking. Then the bike is painted a baby blue with a silver double stripe down the center of the entire bike. That paint isn't in the greatest of shape (in my picky opinion) so I'd repaint, if I were to take this bike home. Nice chrome mirrors with turn signals built in and LED lights all around (including cluster) (well the headlight isn't LED, and one brake light isn't LED, just because I ran out LOL). Electronic ignition - no more "igniter box" junk. New DC rectifier and stator just in case with about 50 miles since replacement. Starter motor just rebuilt. New bearings all around. I also rewired some of the bike to improve reliability and labeled all connections and everything is connector based so the bike is super easy to diagnose and work on. New throttle and clutch cables. Any spare parts I have are yours (there aren't a lot, most of them are now on the bike). Kerker exhaust and 4-1 headers and pods for air filter. Sounds good, performs well. This is a very customized bike on a stock shape frame, handlebars and so on. Easy riding and handles like it should.I spent way too much on looks (powder coat was probably $1800 all told on this bike) and paint was meh - my first paint job. But, it looks pretty good. Mechanicals are good - with a few exceptions1. The carbs still aren't adjusted right. When the bike is cold (even on a warm day) it takes some cranking or starting fluid to get her going. Choke it up and she's purring quick with that starter fluid. Adjust carbs!2. The tach and turn signals literally just stopped working. Could be a 5 minute fix on both - or not. These might even be fixed by the time you get here. If not they can't be that bad.3. There are some minor chips& scratches (no i've never laid down the bike) on the right side of the tank. Don't know why - probably got "rolled into" something by someone moving my bike without me knowing. Sigh.4. The bike smokes a bunch when it's cold. When it's warm it doesnt. I'm assuming it could use some rings - it eats some oil too (they all do of course this one just eats more than I'd like).5. I don't love the progressive springs the last owner put in the forks. I'd upgrade if I were keeping the bike. But, that's personal opinion.6. I never finished the seat covering. The cover is on there but you could fasten it with about an hour of work and a knife and pliers and then put the bar back on the rear seat (if you wanted to).Register it as an antique and save on insurance and yearly inspections/registrations! I did. If you are from NY I will include the original plate from 1985 (with 1985 registration sticker still on it) - you can use it as your plate. Stand out!So, it's a minor project. In reality fix the turn signals (if they're not aleady fixed!) and ride it. The rest are me being a nit picker. But if you want it perfect, there's the other stuff on the list.Make me an offer. I'd like to get $1800 and given where this bike is at I think that's pretty firm, I'm only selling because I have 3 bikes and no time for this one (hence why my account even went away on this forum LOL - I had to re-register, I just haven't had time to ride or keep working on it.. sigh.Low miles. whatever the picture says. It's not getting ridden.Cash in hand for a test ride sorry I know how this goes...

Up for sale is my ready to ride 1979 Suzuki GS750L. I am asking $2500 or willing to trade sportster . It has an in line 4 cylinder 750 engine that is running great and is a blast on the street. Dual disk brakes up front give this bike a huge stopping advantage over many classic / vintage bikes! There are several upgrades listed below. I am only selling because I work more with Harley Davisdon bikes and I want a harley that I can use at work. Low milage (21,900) because previous owner didn't ride it much, and I have a short commute to work 1-2 times a week on the bike. Here are some of the upgrades that have been done to the bike. - New Progressive Suspension fork springs and rear shock with adjustable preload. - Like new tires with only a couple hundred miles on them - Chain replaced about a year ago with only a couple hundred miles on it. - Rebuilt carbs tuned by local certified Suzuki mechanic - New LED rear run/brake lights and mini turn signals - 2up Burly Brand Brat seat from an early sportster model, fabricated custom mount for this bike. - High output Spot LED auxiliary lighting ( they really light up the road and mike you very visible at night! ) - Mini Side cover bags, both sides ( holds and organizes tool kit, paper work, and misc small items SEE PIC ) I have several extra parts, rear fender, headlight, original side covers, and a few other misc parts. I also have a work in progress rear seat cover / cowl that could be finished to give the bike a single seat cafe look, but still give the option of a secondary seat.

1977 GS750 basket case, my loss = your gain. I planned on making it a cafe racer, but ran into some issues with the title and don't feel like dealing with it, and I've got a baby on the way so I don't have the time to. The bike is registered to me, but the title issues mean I don't have a title, all I've got is a bill of sale. The bike ran before being disassembled, and the engine mechanical and electrical weren't disturbed, so it should be easy to reassemble. The tank and fenders are stripped, and the rear section was shortened. I need the space, so any reasonable offer will be considered.

A ton of work has been done to this bike, and it needs a little bit more. It's been running all summer but recently has had some carburetor issues - turns over but won't start due to air/fuel mix being off. It comes with all receipts dating back to 1979, as well as some of the original stock parts (carbs, etc). About 9,500-10k miles clocked, 3k on the engine after modifications. Have clean title, almost all receipts going back to '79, original tools, manuals and brochures for mods, extra parts - including stock carbs, stock clutch basket/discs, center stand, etc. Has been running well all summer. Always garaged except during summertime. Stator cover has small but hardly noticeable crack (bike was backed into by a car while parked in the street). Seat has a slight rip, oil pressure switch is a little off. The bike is, as you will probably guess from the modifications listed below, very fast. If you're looking for a fun and unique bike, this is it.It has:850 piston kit (bored out)Yoshimura camsHeavy duty valve springsSmooth-bore carbs Velocity filters Yoshimura Pro-Series VII 4 into 1 Newly replaced clutch basket & plates (from 1982, improvements from '79)Front and back disc brakesCustom leather seat (also have extra material)Custom brown paint job Tons of chrome, down to the nuts and boltsNew fuel filterJust changed the oilBrand new tires
