1979 Harley Davidson FXE Shovelhead. The bike has a lot of work done from the frame to the motor. Some of the build includes: 1981 Harley Davidson wide glide front end (forks, triple clamp/tree, 21in. front wheel) for better handling and look. Front forks replaced with Progressive springs and brand new fork tubes. Forks have air in them as well for more responsive ride. 2007 complete S&S 93cui. Shovelhead STROKER motor (5k miles on motor) *8.5:1 compression ratio, S&S 585 cam, S&S carb, complete SUPER STOCK ENGINE and have all paper work and numbers to match. 2007 Revtech 5 speed transmission (5k miles on transmission) Custom paint job done on entire bike (excellent condition) Dynatech mechanical advance ignition to provide superior reliablity and power (compared to electronic advance) New brakes both front and rear end of last season Tires were put on end of last season (90% left) 9.75in T-handlebars All parts on bike are either original to the FXE and wide glide aside from S&S motor and Revtech Trans. All wiring on the bike was gone through professionally and is meticulous The motor and trans have made this bike much more enjoyable to ride and is very realiable. 1977 Super Glide FXE. it runs drives and stops very well. it's hugger orange with 21 inch front wheel and wide glide front end with dual disc brakes. Top end rebuilt 2 years ago. tranny and kicker assembly rebuilt 3 years ago. electronic ignition. belt drive primary(3 year old belt) and chain final drive. front master cylinder is rebuilt and rear master cylinder and caliper are new . will need rear tire soon. has new rear shocks. bike also has many chrome add-ons. The paint isn't perfect but is nice. 4 issues with the bike are ; 1 relocated starter button 2 not sure of actual mileage no odometer on the bike when I bought it. It does have 12793 since I installed an odometer 10 years ago. 3 No horn 4 No blinkers. 90% of this bike has been rebuilt or replaced since I bought the bike. PLEASE ASK ANY QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING. VIN 9D15504H5 (9D=FXE, 15504=sequential serial, H=Harley, Mfr code 5=1975) Estimated build date January 1975 74ci 45deg vtwin (3.4in bore bore, 4.0in stroke, 58.0 HP @5150RPM, 8.0 to 1 Compression) 4 speed transmission, roller chain final drive 600lbs full wet, 5.0 gal tank, 4qt 60wt engine oil, 3/4qt 60wt transmission 34,000 total big twins manufactured in 1975, only 9,350 were FXEs (FXE=Dyna with Electric Start)5813 miles. I do not believe these are original but rather the miles from when it was customized many years ago (est ~1996 based on date codes of parts I replaced) This is customized bike. This is NOT an original FXE. Few are. 1975 was not a good year for Harley with the union troubles and quality issues. Many of them didn't run straight out of the crate, and some were intentionally sabotaged by pissed off union workers. Nearly all HDs from this era are upgraded in some way, most in a big way to make them more reliable. This one is no different but it still runs great on points and condensor (thats the #1 comment I get). It is a very cool bike. I get looks and questions everywhere I ride it. Folks really dig the nostalgia of a well running shovelhead. There is no sound like a shovel w/open pipes, even in Harleyworld. You can tell what it is a mile away. This is the easiest starting Harley I've ever owned. Just a touch of the starter and you're up and running. Starts faster than my new fuel injected HDs. That being said you need to remember that this is a 40 yr old bike. You will need knowledge of older bikes to maintain this bike. I have the books and they will go with it. Its reconditioned, not new..everything works that needs to work..and it has a character all its own...a few quirks of operation like the starter button is under the seat (why I don't know but it works perfect and is easier than bar mounted). Transport your mind back to 1975 and how much has survived that you would want to have from that era. How well did cars drive in 1975? Well, if you long for the nostalgia of that era, this is for you. I really enjoyed owning this piece of history, and I LOVED riding it, but with a bad back now I don't ride much anymore and my garage is not a museum. Let me know if you have any questions. 1976 Harley Davidson FXE Super Glide. 40 year old bike shows normal wear and tear including touch up spots and scuffs to an older quality paint job. This bike was bought from an estate and has a clear Maryland title and a Letter Of Administration with the raised seal of the state for easy transfer. I was told from a long time family friend that this bike was a Liberty Edition model. He also told me the engine and tranny were rebuilt about 7 years ago by one of the best mechanics in this area and only ridden seldomly since then. I cannot verify that information. The engine runs very strong and the bike shifts smoothly. Both engine and tranny are completely oil tight. Carburetor is a S&S B and the fuel enricher has to be held up so cold weather starts take a third hand. I use a stick to hold it up. Bike always starts easy. Bike has been rewired using stacon connectors (not my first choice) And all electrics work as intended other than the 2 rear turn signals work but don't flash due to the front turn signals had been removed. Wiring for the front signals is present and they will flash if hooked up but I do not have them. The rear brake works but is soft. Tread on tires is good but the rear tire has a gouge on the left side from a strut bolt that has since been shortened. Seat has a rip on top. Speedometer is present but there is no drive or cable. Actual mileage unknown. All fluids were just changed using Harley Davidson 60 weight oil. Basically you are getting a strong running shovelhead that could use a little TLC but is ready to ride as is.PLEASE MESSAGE ME FOR ANY MORE INFORMATION AND I ALSO HAVE A 4 MINUTE VIDEO OF CLOSE UP SHOTS WITH THE BIKE RUNNING AND THE ELECTRICS WORKING THAT CAN BE EMAILED.
