1980 xlh 1000 harley davidson sportster 33,xxx miles clean title matching numbers on motor and frame barn find 9 yrs in semi storage bike was driven once a yr on 4th of july and kept in a semi warm barn i got her home, and she started ..... RAKED FRONT END!!!! freakin cool..... z bars s&s le pera saddle pipes took her for ride up my street and back motor ran good! tranny popped out of 1st turning around on my street, so i started in 2nd no problem.. (i dont think pushed it hard enough into 1st) loud, strong ,,,,even idled at 800 rpm rusty and oily but no major oil leaks that i found petcock drips when put on.. gas tank had a kreem job go bad (por15 can fix that right up) no dents on tank lg fuel filter was all ready on her i changed oil to redline, rotella, m1 blend 15w 45 or so i didnt change oil filter the oil that came out was surprizingly clean,,, i will update if i can oil cooler lowered progressive rear shocks decent chain and sprockets tires arent bad ,, no dry cracking that i saw and some decent tread (im 53 my eyes arent what they used to be) rear brakes are toast .. you can see rusty rotor front brakes need at least some bleeding ... dual front disk, rusty,, 7 spoke wheel this front end may be from a different model directionals need to be re hooked up..... wires were cut....idk low beam and high beam work fine rear tail light works but i dont know about brake light rear left lense is broken 978 729 5725 txt any time reasonable 603 686 5050 call 9-5 eastern with any questions for sale locally i guess i could end auction anytime thanks for looking harley davidson all the way!!! i will help with shipping if i can i will sell to the world,,,,,, as long as i get paid :)

Up for sale is a 1975 Harley-Davidson.. Runs excellent. 1000cc Iron head motor. Bike and motor only have 88xx mile son them. It has spent most of it's life in the garage. It has short handle bars currently installed , but I do have the original handle bars to go with it. Bike doesn't leak or anything like that. Clean title for the bike. I've got to raise thousands by April 15th, so my '79 HD Sportster 1000 has to be sold. It started as a very original, numbers matching XLH (see photo) with low miles and 2 previous owners. It had been sitting awhile, so it needed the usual.................. Oil Change, Fresh Gas, New Battery, Avon Roadrider Tires, New Oil and Air Filter, New Carb, Valve Adjustment, Primary Chain Adjustment and it started right up, ran and idled great. Many of the original parts were fine, so they were adjusted, lubed and cleaned. I've always had a soft spot for the '78 '79 XLCR Cafe Racer that HD produced, so I decided to take virtually the same frame, engine, suspension, brakes, etc. as the XLCR, and make my own version of a HD Cafe Racer. I used as many used parts as possible to retain the 36 year old patina. The CR is not competed to my satisfaction though.....................Left front brake rotor is a bit warped, The left fork seal weeps a bit, Has some other MINOR leaks, The speedo cable makes some noise, Kickstand needs a block to sit straight, Right battery cover missing, and it jumped out of 2nd gear one time when I romped on it, but I rode it over 100 miles without another problem. It's a true cafe racer, not a highway cruiser, so it was perfect riding to the local bike bars. A vintage bike needs to be pampered with regular oil checks/changes, gas treatment (Seafoam), turn off gas, check tire pressure, put in neutral at lights, started regularly and ridden with respect which will give you trouble free rides for years, not treated like some modern crotch rocket. Early HDs are known for poor brakes, clunky transmissions and vibration, and this bike is no exception, but the sound and torque are unbelievable!. Always draws a crowd, and stands out among baggers and other Harleys. Check my other auction for a budget Cafe Racer. The bulky stock HD horn was replaced with a smaller horn mounted under the seat, out of view.On Apr-03-15 at 08:47:11 PDT, seller added the following information: A long time HD Ironhead mechanic helped me with an oil change modification (see new pic). When changing engine oil, the oil pump sometimes gets air locked which requires the sending unit to be removed to properly bleed the air/oil. Now with a petcock between the pump and sending unit, you just loosen the valve and let the air bleed naturally. When you see oil, close it up. If you're in a hurry, start the engine with the valve open until only oil comes out. I prefer the first method. Clean, easy, effective.

All brand new only 1000 miles, Custom rigid frame, DNA Springer +2 IN, 16"rear 21"front, with Pirelli tires, Disk brakes front and rear, 1000 CC Engine is completely new also, new lower end with polished rods and KB Performance .010 pistons, balanced, port and polished heads, new Kibblewhite Precision Black Diamond valves and guides, all new bearings in transmission and engine cases, Transmission blueprinted, Andrews PB+ cams, cam cover is from 69 Sportster with Morris magneto, Zenith 40MM Carb, Custom made LePera seats with Biker Gel, These seats were just put on, Motor was built by me and Noot, We each have 40 years experience with these motors. The twisted sissy bar is a design I started with 40 years ago. The Handmade fabricated parts are Power coated, The paint on the tank and fender has a problem see pictures. Also when I took the spring solo seat off and replaced it with the LePera I created extra holes under seat. When I changed the seats I had intended to replace the fender and repaint the tank and fender this winter but something came up and it is now for sale. This bike was ridden from Iowa to Sturgis last year with no problems.

Here's my 100% original old school chopper. 1000cc IronHead Sportster XLH. Mechanically needs nothing but an oil change if you need to get your hands dirty. Runs great and tons of power. New battery. If I was told correctly I am the 3rd owner. The 2nd owner did not drive it much as it was part of his collection. 15,000 original miles since it was built in 1976. The title is clear and its titled as a 1962. Not a hardtail so its a back saver. Story goes it was build someplace round Kiel WI in 1976 and the Jefferson Starship album cover tank artwork is inline with the story. Tons of chrome and special period parts. If You'll know if this bike if for you. I will be as helpful on my end as I can if you need to ship it. Its a chopper so it has a rebuilt Wisconsin title in my name. 1982 Harley Davidson Sportster XLH 1000. Ironhead. Not an AMF. This is a one-owner bike that was only used in the summer in NY. 46,549 original miles. It's in good shape, starts right up, and is ready to ride. It has the original engine and paint. The windshield, pipes, seat, air cleaner, and kickstand are aftermarket. The oil tank is factory but is a replacement. The bike had a new clutch and ignition installed in 2012. The battery is about two years old. Brakes are good. The rear tire tread is at 2/32"; the front is at 4/32". Everything on the bike works, including the lights, horn, turn signals, speedometer, etc. The engine has a real slight oil leak (a few drops per day), which is common for bikes from this era. The bike is on a NY title, which is clean and in-hand. Includes a soft bag (not pictured) and a factory HD cover. It has always been garaged up until a few days ago when I moved it outside to make room for the new bike. The bike is located in Maricopa, AZ (near Phoenix). Will assist with shipping.
