For sale is my 2004 Harley-Davidson V-Rod VRSC. It has 11,449 miles and has been adult ridden and garaged it's entire life. The bike has been maintained by Rossiter's Harley-Davidson in Sarasota, Florida. The bike was just serviced with new Harley-Davidson Gold Spark Plugs, Amsoil motorcycle full synthetic 20W-50 oil and Harley-Davidson oil filter. The bike has a Stage 1 kit that includes; K&N air filter ($100), CFR exhuast ($550), and Power Commander III w/USB ($400) installed and mapped/tuned by Harley after being put on the Dyno ($400). The bike runs and sounds excellent! There are new Metzler Marathon ME880 tires on the bike, with the rear tire being a 200/50/18R. This V-Rod has many other upgrades as well, such as: H-D chrome rims (stock aluminum tend to pit, $700 + trade-in stock rims)H-D chrome lower forks with chrome fork sliders, ($450 + install)H-D chrome front master cylinder and hydraulic Clutch master cylinder, chrome levers ($750 + install), Arlen Ness Stealth chrome mirrors, ($100) H-D Quick detachable windscreen, ($469)H-D chrome shift linkage bar, ($120)Custom made chrome handlebars (You will not find another set, $460), Dakota Digital gauge cluster (tells rpm, voltage, clock, top speed, hi rpm, 0-60 time, 1/4 mile time, trip A, trip B, odometer), - ($650 + install) H-D chrome upper and lower belt guard, ($230)H-D chrome rear suspension, ($440)H-D quick detachable rear storage rack,($250)H-D V-Rod Sundowner seat with back rest, ($400)H-D clear rear tail light with LED's that have adjustable setting to strobe or solid, fender integrated LED turn signals, ($300)H-D front air dam, ($450) Battery tender hook-up. Bike comes with Harley-Davidson VRSC manual, ($90)H-D parts manual,and original handle bars and factory oem gauges. There's more little things like hand grips, pegs, and such, but you get the picture. This bike was $18,200 new and easily has $6500-$7500 worth of extras! That's great if you can find one cheaper, but if it needs anything or you choose to start buying things for it such as a Stage 1 kit or even a comfortable seat such as a Sundowner, you will easily surpass my asking price.This bike needs absolutely nothing, it is mint. Never been down, always garaged. Hard to find Harley-Davidson Orange! Clean and clear title ready to go. Pictures were taken on 5/24/2015, no filters were added to pictures. Those rims harked back to my obsession for Steve McQueen’s 1967 Mustang Fastback in Bullit.After two weeks and 1000 miles of every type of riding from the daily commute to day trips, I started really liking this bike. The more I rode it the better I liked it.The Motor Company had the sportiest handling of any other Harley currently offered across the bagger line…and I’d argue even the other Dyna models offered, such as the Super Glide and Street Bob.This was also my first experience with the new 103 that was introduced in the 2010 Electra Glide Ultra Limited; the V-Twin performed well, although more horsepower would be welcomed in stock form. But again, that chassis allowed for some serious riding.First some background. Due to the popularity of Harley’s uber-expensive CVO Convertible, The Motor Company decided on offering the same kind of versatility to go from tourer to cruiser but on a machine that’s affordable to the general public.Harley designed the Switchback on the smaller, less-expensive Dyna chassis, which seems to be an effort to gain more popularity with that under-35 crowd that Harley would like to have riding its machines.After adding some hard bags, the 2012 Harley Switchback was born, the name implying that the rider can switch from a light tourer (emphasis on light) to a stylish boulevard cruiser and back again. This switchback happens quickly, and I mean quickly – the classically-styled windshield and hard saddlebags can literally be taken off in under a minute without tools. No joke…my best time was around 45 seconds.While we’re discussing these "switchback" items, I might as well explain them. The windshield is nothing new to Harley; the classic shield attaches to the forks via four grommets, and stays in place due to resistance.For my 5’11" stature, the screen offered great protection from the elements, with little wind buffeting at highway speeds. But this was mostly with a ¾ helmet on; when I wore a full-face helmet, the wind buffeting was much worse, tossing my head around sporadically, especially at speeds over 70 mph.I enjoyed the protection so much that I actually used the windshield about 80-percent of the time I was testing the 2012 Harley-Davidson Switchback. That, and the fact that once you remove the windshield you expose one of the most beautifully-designed headlights of on modern Harley. Yeah…it’s so beautiful it’s hard not to want to just stare at it while riding, hence the enjoyment of actually riding with the windshield; I simply didn’t want distractions.The other "Switchback" items are the hard saddlebags, which are crafted of durable ABS plastic.
