1986 Honda Helix CN250, 1986 HONDA HELIX CN250 SCOOTER 1986 was the first year the Helix was produced. It has a 250cc liquid cooled single cylinder motor, front disc brake, and rear drum brake. I rebuilt the front brake system, and both the front discs and rear drum shoes are like new. The tires are in very good condition as well. The scooter is 28 years old and has 41,831 miles on it, that's less than 1500 miles per year. It has a stainless steel after-market exhaust. It has a locking glove box, a locking gas tank, and a huge trunk. The trunk can hold two helmets, or several bags of groceries, and locks as well. The helmets are not included with the scooter. I'm selling it because I'm down-sizing and moving out of state. It is a large scooter, and can easily handle 2 people. I've heard tales of folks taking these coast to coast in the USA. While I've owned it, it has been garage kept. I am holding a clear title for this scooter. Things I have done to this scooter: Put on a new carburetor. Put in a new air filter. Installed a new spark plug Drained, removed, and cleaned the gas tank. Put in a new inline gas filter. I have used only ethanol free fuel in it since I have owned it. Drained, the oil, cleaned the oil screen, and put in new manufacturer's suggested oil. Drained the cooling system, flushed it, and refilled with new coolant. Drained the CVT transmission and refilled it with manufacturer;s suggested oil. Installed a new battery. Hardwired a Battery Tender harness to the battery, and the Battery Tender charger is included in the sale. Replaced and repaired some body work, like turn signals and running lights. Recovered the original double seat with a custom made seat cover. It starts quickly, runs well, and is pretty fast. Now, it's got almost 42,000 miles on it, and it does smoke mostly on start-up. It's in decent shape, but it's far from perfect. There's a few body panels missing (see photos), but they can easily be purchased on Ebay or other internet sites if you're looking to do a full restoration. The paint is pretty good considering it's the original paint job. The handlebar starter button was moved to just below the seat, (see photo) because the original one went bad when the previous owner had it. Everything works. It's retro looking, fun, and everyone waves and smiles when you drive by. I'm asking $1095.00 for it. THIS IS A 1999 HONDA HELIX 250 SCOOTER. BIKE ONLY HAS 5900 MILES ON IT. I HAVE BEEN RESTORING THIS SCOOTER FOR A WHILE . IT HAD BEEN SITTING NOT RUNNING FOR A WHILE WHEN I GOT IT. I WENT THROUGH THE ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS, CLEANED/FIXED ALL OF THEM WITH ELECTRONIC CLEANER AND DIALECTIC GREASE. CLEANED THE CARB AND EMPTIED THE OLD GAS. ALL THE ELCTRICS ARE IN GOOD WORKING ORDER NOW EXCEPT THE STARTER SOLENOID. I BOUGHT A CHEAPO $10 ONE OFF EBAY AND OF COURSE IT WORKS ONCE IN A WHILE BUT MOST OF THE TIME JUST CLICKS AND DOESNT WORK. IF I JUMP THE SOLENOID FROM BATTERY SIDE TO STARTER SIDE IT STARTS AND RUNS. ALL THE LIGHTS WORK, DISPLAY WORKS. WHAT STILL NEEDS TO BE DONE--- IT NEEDS A BATTERY, THEY ARE REALLY CHEAP I JUST HAVENT HAD TIME TO GET ONE, I USE A PORTABLE JUMP PACK TO TEST START IT. IT NEEDS BOTH FRONT AND BACK BRAKES CLEANED. THE FRONT BRAKE HANGS UP AND THE REAR BRAKE STICKS.IF YOU TAP THE FRONT CALIPER WITH A RUBBER MALLET IT RELEASES SO IT SHOULD JUST NEED A SIMPLE CLEANING. THE REAR LEVER ON THE BRAKE DRUM STICK FORWARD WHEN YOU PUSH THE FOOT BRAKE. IF I PUSH IT BACK WITH MY FINGER IT LETS GO SO NOT A BIG DEAL JUST NEEDS A CLEANING.(I AM POINTING TO THE PARTS I AM DESCIBING IN THE PICS). I'M GUESSING MOISTURE/CORROSION FROM SITTING AROUND THE SHORE AREA. SHOULD BE PRETTY BASIC CLENUP OF THE FRONT BRAKE CALIPER AND THE REAR BRAKE DRUM WITH A LITTLE SPRAY CLEANER ETC. I JUST DON'T HAVE THE TIME TO GET TO THAT STUFF RIGHT NOW. SO I AM SELLING THE SCOOTER CHEAP AS IT. IT WILL START AND RUN IF YOU HOOK UP POWER AND JUMP THE SOLENOID. 2004 Honda Silver Wing, Injected Twin 600cc engine!! The 600cc Silverwing (FSC600) was by far Honda s largest scooter offering. Prior to the Silverwing, Honda s largest scooter had been 250cc (Elite 250, Helix, Reflex). Unsurprisingly, the Silverwing was Honda s fastest scooter ever, with a 0-60 mph time of 8 seconds and a top speed of 105mph. I was looking through the glove box, and I found some gas receipts that showed that on a recent trip, it got over 46 MPG. To achieve this, Honda designed their impressive 582cc parallel twin cylinder DACT engine. This compact workhorse put out 49.6 HP @ 7500 RPM and enjoyed an array of fancy technology. The Silverwing employed 4-valves per cylinder, liquid cooling and Honda s PGM-Fi fuel injection. On the open road the Silverwing does quite well. It has great brakes with discs front and rear. It has a Givi aftermarket windshield that has been added to it. This one is not without flaws. At some time someone has done their own two tone paint job, lets just call it a 10 footer. There are a couple of places where the body work has been broken, and repaired. This is reflected in the price, this is the most affordable Maxi-scooter that we have in stock. It runs, and rides correctly. If you can put up with some body imperfections, this is a heck of a value!!! Each bike goes through rigorous inspection, cleaning and examination before we feel comfortable considering it a part of our inventory and available for sale. Once we are through with our thorough inspections and cleanings and the bike has been approved for sale, we photograph it from all angles.
