The last year of the chrome "Toaster Tank" Super Rats was the rarest year with only 2600 machines produced. It was similar in looks to the previous 93 and 93A Model Super Rats but was a completely different animal with new primary and pinion gears, gusseted and reinforced swing arm pivot, strengthened frame, and legendary "Flame Thrower" spark arrestor expansion chamber exhaust. Up for sale here is a pristine condition "Mint Factory" original paint bike. Sporting its rare, factory exclusive to Super Rat, 3.25X18 rear and 3.00X19 front NITTO tires along with its excellent condition original stainless steel Super Rat Front and Rear fenders, chain guard, red button kill switch and all the other 100% Super Rat exclusive factory goodies, this is one stunning and beautiful 93B Super Rat with absolutely NO BEAD BLASTED OR POWDER COATED PARTS~! The clean up and restoration work was performed by EXTREME Super Rat enthusiast and world famous custom speed skate boot manufacture Bruce Kohen. The motor and carburetor were completely rebuilt with all new components, bearings, seals etc. by famous Hodaka builder Dave Rozier (aka Hodaka Dave) with jetting and exhaust porting input from other famous Hodaka builders George Cone and Roger Lippiatt. 1970 Hodaka Super Rat- All Original - UNRESTORED! No Title! - JUST RELISTED- Buyer wanted us to deliver to Florida which we cannot do! This is for pick up at our location in Indiana and buyer makes payment at the time of pick up! NO PAYPAL!Hodaka Super Rat-100 cc Dirt Bike. The sound of the the bike is unmistakable and addicting. It was every kids dream to own one of these awesome machines in the 1970's. This is a single owner bike. The original owner got this bike as a Christmas present in 1970. He won a trophy with it and never raced again. He has had this bike through adulthood and has had it in a climate controlled environment suspended from the ceiling. There are two brackets on the sides that he put on the bike so that he could suspend it. They are still currently connected to the bike and can be removed by just taking the bolt out! The bike has the correct Super Rat motor which is marked M4865 on the block. Because of the position of these numbers we could not get a close up picture. The rear tire is not original to the bike, it has been replaced at some point. The fuel lines have been replaced and the petcocks were rebuilt and do not leak. There are a couple of dents on the gas tank. One is larger and the other one is very small but present. The owner took it down once or twice a year and showed it off and then back up in the ceiling it went! The bike starts very easily and has a very unmistakeable sound. I've honestly never heard anything like it! Runs strong, shifts through all the gears, don't know of anything mechanically wrong with it. Own a piece of Hodaka history! I haven't had this bike for very long time, but the first time I saw it was in 1970 in the showroom of Steen's in Alhambra. At that time I couldn't get the money together to buy it so I ended up buying a Hodaka Steens SS. Anyway back to this bike, for those who don't know of this bike or model, this is a rare BSA Rickman Westlake. This bike was first designated to Steen's in Alhambra in 1969/1970. John Steen and Derek Rickman were good friends and business associates so Steen's was the exclusive importer of the Rickman BSA Westlake. The Motorcycle World Article shows Derek Rickman test riding a BSA Westlake in the 1969 for the 1969 Elsinore GP, another article says he rode the race on a BSA Westlake and was running third when he DNF do to electrical problems. After John Steen closed his business, the bike went to Lynn Wineland, who worked with John Steen for many years. Lynn owned this bike for many, many years then the bike went to a couple of museums and then I purchased it . I am very careful about my descriptions having gone on many wild goose chases to see bikes and cars that turned out to be in far less condition than advertised. I am sure many of you have been in the same boat so I will do my utmost to describe this so that there are NO disappointments or surprises. 1973 Rickman rolling nickel plated MX chassis with manufacturers plate still in place reading 11/72 and S/N 6968 Z. Someone painted frame silver but we spent 5 mins cleaning a partial frame tube and shines beautifully although there are some spots near engine area that show rust thru paint. It has some motor mounts welded in place but they can be removed and new ones made up to fit your engine choice. I was told plates were for a Hodaka and originally it was for a Zundapp motocross. Picture a Ducati single or whatever. Has Rickman rear hub and conical front hub and Betor forks. No title but can get a clear New Hampshire title within 3 weeks of sale for an extra $100.00 if needed. Please feel free to contact me thru eBay with any questions you may have. Please note that I use my own picture service so you get larger and higher quality photos and I took many to show every aspect of this bike so you get no unwanted surprises. This bike offers a great value to anyone looking to add to their airhead collection or pick up a ready to ride vintage touring bike with only 22,000 miles. The bike was purchased and ridden in the early 1980s and then stored until 2013. In Spring 2013 the bike was sent to Heid's Hodaka in Eastern NY to be restored to running order. After $4600 of parts and professional labor, the bike has racked up only a couple summer rides since. I have replaced the valve covers, exhaust, battery and rear rotor since then. Additionally, I had the right valve cover, front cap, timing case cover, top cover and fairing support rod powder coated for maximum longevity. The bike comes with original hard cases, a spare left and right valve cover, and record of the maintenance performed during the overhaul at Heid's. Mechanically, this bike is sound. *Runs great**No issues shifting**Front and rear brakes work**All lights function**All parts present (including the underseat tool kit)**Odometer at 22,XXX*Aesthetically, the bike is not as showroom perfect as some of the other tenderly loved airheads you might find. The paint has small flecks missing and there are some scratches on the fuel tank. It runs great though, and I'd still be using it as an occasional weekend outing toy if I wasn't moving across the country and downsizing my life. It has a lot of life left in it and would be a great bike for anyone looking to get into touring with cost effective option.
