One of a few survived vehicles in the world and most likely the only ZIS 110 in the United States is for sale now. Less than 2100 of them were produced and most of the existing ZIS 110s were destroyed by order of Nikita Khrushchev who took the highest office in the USSR after Stalin. Khrushchev condemned Stalin and accused him in creating a cult of his personality. Everything associated with Stalin was removed from public places and destroyed. ZIS is a Russian abbreviation for “Zavod Imeni Satlina (Plant named after Stalin)” In this anti Stalin campaign the plant was renamed and became “Plant named after Likhachov” and all ZIS 110 limousines were ordered to be destroyed. Fortunately, fair-minded people disobeyed the order and some of ZIS 110 survived. This ZIS-110 is one of them. It was manufactured in 1947 with serial number 253. In the same year, Stalin gave this limousine to the first secretary of the Communist Party of Azerbaijan Mirdjafar Bagirov. Azerbaijan was one of USSR republic and position of first secretary was the highest office in the republic. After Stalin's death and his condemnation, Bagirov, as a close ally and friend of Stalin was removed from the office, convicted and imprisoned. The car was in an automobile garage of the Communist Party’s Central Committee and was not used until 1968. In 1968, the limousine was given as a gift to Orudge G. Koshkarly, an outstanding citizen of Azerbaijan. Retired General, he was a famous Azerbaijan writer, a member of prestigious Writers' Union of the USSR. The son of Orudge Koshkarly, Murad G. Koshkarly inherited the car after his father passed away in 1989. In 1998 Murad did a complete restoration of the car including engine overhaul. I met Murad in the streets of Baku when he was driving ZIS and exchange phone numbers with him. Sometime later he called me and offered his car for sale. I bought and shipped the car to the US in 1999. It was delivered to storage in Houston, Texas as I continued working overseas. In attached photos you can see that bumpers were removed from the vehicle for shipment as it did not fit in 20 foot container. Upon return home 5 years later I kept the car in storage as it would not fit in the garage. I never started the engine and ZIS stayed in storage for all these years. When I brought car to Houston it was in perfect working condition. Everything, including the original radio and hydraulic power windows were in working order. After many years in storage car needs overhaul. The good news is that all parts are original and that is a major concern for true car collectors. I consulted with Russian vintage car specialists on the selling price I should put for the car in its current condition. The answer was around $200,000 That sounded as a reasonable number considering selling price of similar cars in a very good condition. Honda VFR Needs A New Home!

Need to move this to make room for another dirtbike. Asking $1950. condition: good I am selling my 1986 VFR700. The bike was running well with 49,000 miles on it when I transplanted a VFR750 motor in it with 7000 miles on it. The improvement in power was noticeable. I still have the original motor. At the time the bike was made there was a tariff put on importing motorcycles over 700cc so Honda made bikes in both 700 and 750 that year. The 750 was quite a bit more expensive so most VFR's that year were 700's. The engines are identical on the outside and the 750 bolts straight in. The machine has new tires in the last 3 years. The electrical charging system was upgraded. It has a new battery. I have made some carbon fiber parts for it. The chain and sprockets are in excellent condition. I installed VTR1000 mufflers for some improvement in power while still maintaining a quiet machine. Cosmetically it looks very good. I would say it is very very good overall condition. This is a limited production "tuber", one of the last hand assembled by a few of Erik Buell's expert team in East Troy Wisconsin, back in the early days, only 384 were made the this first year of the S3T in 1997. American Muscle, made in USA. Very light but strong hand laid fiberglass fender, fairing, gas tank, and rear tail section. Once Harley took over Buell in 1998, the expensive to make fiberglass components all went to mass production cheap ABS plastic. Ducati style hand crafted chrome-moly perimeter frame, Performance Machine front and Brembo rear calipers, and the same inverted WP forks used by 8 time national race champion Scott Parker. Corbin seat ($500), D&D Racing carbon fiber exhaust canister ($500), lightweight quick release lockable luggage ($1500 option), new sport touring tires; front IRC ProTech SP-11F, rear Metzeler RoadTech Z6 ($400), newer AGM battery ($100) , newer front brakes, new rear brakes. That's already $3000 of just "stuff", not even mentioning the rest of the bike. MODEL YEARS PRODUCED 97-98, 00-02 APPROX. NUMBER BUILT 1,779 1997 = 384 1998 = 630 1999 = NIL 2000 = 349 2001 = 164 2002 = 252 Displacement: 1203cc 91HP@5800RPM Torque: 87 ft.lbs @ 5,200 rpm Note: only the 1997 fiberglass body versions are considered collectible among the Thunderbolt S3Ts. Bought in September 2012 with 14665 miles, as a third bike that I always wanted, and have only put on a thousand miles in three years. Originally I was going to completely refreshen the bike to showroom condition...someday...well guess its time for a new owner. Another "Bueller" enthusiast would be perfect. Starts and runs excellent, it is tuned and piped for 100HP like the later Thunderstorm motor but without the troublesome head and cylinder gasket issues of the 1998 and later models. Has always been run on Mobil One synthetic 15w50. Primary chain and belt drive tension adjusted, valves are maintenance free hydraulic push rods, self adjusting. Carburetor has been re-jetted for performance. Rear end lowered two inches for better comfort, can easily be redone to original. Handles incredible, upright sitting position and pretty comfortable in the saddle overall. I added rubber gel grips to smooth out some hand vibration. Bike is very light, only around 450lbs, top speed around 130 in under a minute for those adrenaline junkies. The luggage black tubing frame is one piece and removes in minutes for a very modern sport bike look. Its imperfect, if it was showroom the value would be $5,000. It was almost $14,000 new in 1997. This rare Thunderbolt S3T needs some small cosmetic details finished; gas tank ovals were going to be airbrushed with the new Pegasus Buell symbols, some small paint bubbles on gas tank, some scratches on saddle bags. Fairing leg lowers, upper plastic belt cover/hugger, and rear plastic under fender were discarded by previous owners, driver foot pegs replaced with more modern (not pictured), originals included. Custom made license plate bracket. A beautiful unique exotic looking bike overall. Unlike most motorcycles, consider this one an investment rather than an expense. The value goes up slightly every year instead of down, and soon, in 2017, at twenty years old, it will be considered a rare american classic.
