1983 Honda Ascot VT500, This is probably the most fun you will ever have on a motorcycle riding alone. It is the V-twin Ascot, not the single. It is water cooled and has shaft drive. They only made this model two years. It is very light and agile (about 400lbs). It has 48.5 horsepower and a six speed transmission. Everything works on it and is all original except the front turn signals are replaced with smaller and nicer ones. It has a precise fitting sport windshield added and sport bags that are excellent, including a passenger seat bag and matching side bags. It has a matching tank bag that I will throw in with it, but I don't think is shown. It has excellent sport tires on it in good shape. The seat does need to be recovered and I would add some jell or foam, but it is alright to ride as it is, the seat is just cracking due to age. It was owned by a Harley mechanic for years and has always been well maintained. I have an aftermarket shop manual for it. I am getting old and have another bike. I hate to sell it, but that is life. 1983 Honda Ascot VT500, 1983 Honda Ascot for sale as a parts bike or fixer-upper. Runs well but needs a new water pump. Water pump has a slight drip out of the weep hole after a ride so it needs to be replaced. The bike has a new battery, rear tire and aftermarket exhaust pipes. I also put a 3.5 gallon CX500 tank on it to give me extra touring range. The bike does not have an odometer (old one broke as is common on this model) so I replaced it with a speedometer/trip meter from another bike. When the old odometer broke about six years ago the bike had 19,500.Title is in my name, clear and tags are good till 2016. Asking $550.00 or best offer. 1984 Honda VT500FT Ascot 1781 original miles, may go up slightly if I go for a ride. When I got this bike the gas tank was rusty and I replaced it along with the petcock with a NOS Tank and petcock, the tank does have a blemish in the paint see the pics. I also cleaned and rebuilt the carburestors with OEM Honda rebuild kits and float valves, replaced the fork seals and bushings with Honda OEM Parts, rebuilt the caliper and master cylinder. All fluids are changed and installed a new battery. I also had the gas tank coated inside so rust will never be an issue. There are new tires and I have the original tires also. This bike runs well. There are some scratches here and there and some rusty spots.Look ast the pics as it needs some detailing yet, ask me any questions or come see it in person. Sold as is where is, will assist with your shipper.

I have a bike most people have not even heard of.. it's a 1983 honda vt500ft ascot water cooled but looks like air cooled. It's a drive shafts driven bike with 6 gears. A very comfortable ride. The gauges do not work probably something in the wiring. The motor has been rebuilt. Have a complete parts bike to go with it. I have clean title for the running bike..

Classic cruiser. Good condition. Minor cosmetic wear. Runs very well. Great starter bike or for commuting. These bikes are rare so it could also be used as a 'parts bike' for someone rebuilding one; BUT this bike runs so well I would hate for it to be taken apart. Will include bike cover, original tools/bag and original owner's manual. Because I have a newborn now I don't ride it as often as it deserves.Asking $2000 but will take best offer.

1984 Honda VT500 Ascot. 10,307 miles. Clean title in hand. Pretty good condition for a 30 year old bike. I bought this about 7 years ago. After owning it for a little while I put new dual sport tires on it, got it inspected and rode it locally for approx. 100 miles or so. It ran and rode well and without any problems. Shortly afterward the original gas tank started leaking due to rusting from the inside out. Since the VT500 Ascot was only produced for 2 years and in limited numbers it took me nearly 4 years to find an original matching tank in nice condition. The used tank cost me nearly $400. During the 4 years the bike was parked awaiting a new tank the battery went bad, the fork seals dried out and the front brake caliper began to stick occasionally. I bought a quart of tank liner and planned on putting it in the new tank just as a preventative measure, but never got around to doing it. The nice replacement tank was put on the bike, but never had any gas put into it. I had other bikes at the time so the Ascot took a back seat so to speak. Every year I think I'm going to get around to getting it on the road, but it just hasn't happened. This Ascot will make an easy restoration project. The color on the gauges and controls is still nice. The paint on the tank and front fender is in very nice condition. The tail section and side covers are decent but slightly faded. The color is OK, but the clear doesn't have the same gloss as the tank and front fender. The engine paint is nice. The front exhaust pipe has some surface rust on it. The muffler has been neatly drilled to allow a bit more sound. It's only slightly louder than stock. There's an occasional drip of oil coming from somewhere under the engine, but it often takes a day or two for a single drip to appear. I prefer this be picked up in person. If not, shipping arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer and full payment must be cleared before the bike leaves my garage. Get all of your questions answered and discuss payment and pick up arrangements with me before making an offer. Don't waste my time with scams or offers to help sell the bike. Bike is also advertised locally.
