This is a nice original, hard to find, 1984 CR500. 1984 was the first year for the CR500 which is air cooled. It has it's normal scratches for a 30+ year old bike, but runs and shifts good as it should. It has new o-ring chain and sprockets and the front brake caliper and master cylinder were just rebuilt. Tires are very good condition Kenda Milleville. The bike is a beast and needs nothing but a rider. Sold with bill of sale. Prefer local pickup. Any shipping would be responsibility of buyer. 2001 Honda CR500R engine. Came out of a running bike. The top end was removed for inspection and put back together but needs gaskets if you choose to run it as is. Has slight damage to the bolt boss for the sprocket cover from chain coming off, does not leak oil, easy fix, (see photos) Cylinder is .050 over, no damage, cases are 10/10 (aside from the bolt boss). Includes the full stock cr500 ignition system (coil, CDI, Stator flywheel), a stock 38mm PJ carb, an aftermarket 39.5mm PWK carb (with zipty racing air screw), The stock reed block and intake boot & an aftermarket Vforce 3 reed block with another stock intake boot (but modified for vforce reeds), Also included is a pentek CNC sprocket cover anodized black from the UK, and the kick and shift levers that came with the engine. Sorry, do not have an exhaust to go with it. I bought this engine used with the intentions of rebuilding it and building an AF conversion but have lost interest in the project. I do not know the hours or history of the engine, it ran when I bought it and thats all I know about it. This is a used running engine that is usable and I give no warranty. I have a 1991 Honda CR500. I have had it for about 7 years and only rode it a few times. It is a very strong bike. It runs, shifts, and brakes good. The carburetor was recently rebuilt, new air filter, and reeds were replaced with Boyesen super stock. Seat is in good shape. I just don't have the time or space to ride it anymore. Things i know it needs are new tires, front forks need to be rebuilt, needs chain slider replaced, silencer/muffler needs to be replaced, and kickstart lever needs to be replaced. I bought a complete cr500 and this roller was included in the sale. I have a clean CA title in hand. Everything you see in the pics is included. Original honda factory fenders. the bottom of the frame is not bent up or scrapped bad. there is a mark on the swing arm (see pic) from a chain derail, that might be why there is no motor..... This is the last year of the Honda big bore and they are getting rare. complete 2001 cr500s are worth 3k+ so if anyone has a motor sitting around here is a good opportunity. THE BIKE HAS ALL NEW PLASTICS, GRAPHICS. THE FRONT FORK SEALS REPLACED SWING ARM BUSHINGS ETC. THE ENGINE WAS GONE THROUGH, WITH TOTAL REBUILD, TOP AND BOTTOM END, WITH AROUND 10HRS ON IT. I COULDN'T RESIST HAD TO RIDE HER. YOU CAN DO THE MATH BUT IN 2001 THE CR125 WEIGHT WAS 192.9LBS, THE CR250 WAS 213.8LBS, AND THE CR500 WEIGHT WAS 222.7LBS, SO I DON'T HAVE TO TELL YOU HOW WICKED FAST SHE IS!! You are bidding on a 1985 CR500r. Bike was sitting but I have recently pulled it out and got it running. Bike was previously used for Hill Climbing. The bike runs (Once you get enough kick). This is not a beginners bike. It appears to have a recently rebuilt motor on it. The gaskets in between the cases look like they have never been dirty. The bike has a extended swing-arm. A pro circut pipe. This bike has major compression. It may need a new float valve in the carb as it will periodically drip some gas. I have most of the stock parts if you wanted to put it back to stock. The bike has a tether type kill switch. See photos. Its a 30 year old bike. It needs some odds and ends such as a clutch perch and lever but will start. I will assist in shipping but please contact me prior to bidding. I would prefer local pickup. Bike is sold as is. BIG, MEAN, and SIMPLE... ****** This motor has only 16 HOURS since complete Top and Bottom end rebuild. ****** ***** First 5 hours were the break in period...Which was mostly easy riding through fields and some open trails.***** **** I run Honda HP2 full synthetic premix oil at 32:1 with premium 93 octane pump gas. **** *** I use a clean and oiled dual stage Uni-filter in the airbox....Because dirt is the enemy.*** *** And Engine Ice coolant to help keep the cylinder cool. *** ________________HERES WHATS NEW!!!__________________ ---> Hot Rods Crank shaft and Rod, Complete with Main Bearings and Seals... ---> Fresh cylinder bore in non-ported cylinder and non-modified cylinder head. ---> New .060" over or 90.5 mm Wiseco forged Piston kit. ---> Displacement up to 507cc from the stock 491cc ---> New Boyesen pro-series Carbon Fiber Reeds on factory Reed Cage. ---> Other various seals and gaskets replaced including water pump seal. -Runs very strong, usually starts first kick... jetted well with the stock carb, Even Idles well- with NO fouled spark plugs.. _______________________________________________________________________________________________ ************ CURRENTLY, THE BAD ----- HERE'S THE HONEST TRUTH *********** #1 - One of the 6 reed cage mounting tabs on the cylinder has a weld where you can see that it was repaired. The Reed cage mounts up great and there are ZERO ISSUES. It's the bottom left mounting tab in the pic before the dyno graph.. * THERE ARE NO ISSUES HERE MECHANICALLY- WORKS AWESOME- PURELY COSMETIC.* #2 - The right side engine case gasket seeps a little clutch/transmission oil while running... Not the outer clutch cover, the next one in.... A new paper gasket with some good sealer should fix it.. Its NOT that bad...I just add a "glug" of gear saver every few rides... Thats all, if it was un-ridable I would have fixed it... - OTHER THAN THAT ITS A MEAN MACHINE, THE CLUTCH FEELS GOOD AND ALL GEARS SHIFT SMOOTH... -The weep hole oil check bolt is good with good threads. -The main drain bolt is good with good threads. -There's a case saver for the front sprocket, And NO welds or repairs to the left side... So either its never had a chain bunch up on it, or the case savers really do work- - THIS SALE INCLUDES THE FOLLOWING - *COMPLETE ENGINE with good kick starter and shift lever... *ALL ELECTRONICS.............including the hour meter........ *Factory keihin 38mm CARBURETOR with throttle assembly and clutch cable. *Boyesen pro-series REEDS on the factory REED CAGE still bolted up and ready to rock. *Two 520 pitch FRONT SPROCKETS... 13t and 14t ______ FREE SHIPPING INCLUDED WITHIN THE 48 CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES______ The engine will be removed and securely packaged as soon as possible following the sale.
