Being offered is a 1980 Honda CR125, Racer. No expense was spared in the building of this bike, it is like new with only 3 heat cycles on the engine. The engine has all new OEM honda bearings, seals and gaskets, new steel and fiber clutch plates, The cylinder is on standard bore with new piston, rings, bearing, pin and clips. The carb is a rebuilt and jetted Keihin, new reeds are added also It has a NOS pipe with a dent free oem silencer. It has mint DID rims, New buchanon heavy guage stainless spokes and nipples, new tubes and locks, all new wheel bearings, seals and brake shoes, wrapped in new rubber. The front forks and trees are rust free 1980 cr250 originals, rebuilt with new seals and seal savers. The frame is solid, it has no repairs, rust, rewelds, crushed or damaged tubes, it has been powdercoated with RAL3020 in gloss red. The swingarm is powdercoated also, with new bearings and chain buffer. The rear shocks are 16" Fox airs, completely rebuilt by Thor also, they are in mint shape with no rash or damage, The chain rollers and sliders are new throughout, it has a new sprockets, 12t steel counter shaft and a 51t alloy Sprocket Specialties rear and a new black chain. The plastics are all new throughout, they are from VMX racing and very high quality, it has a new seat cover fitted over new seat foam also from VMX racing, the tank is a Oem 79 CR125 alloy unit that has been restored and is in perfect condition.It has new Vortex vintage bend bars , all the cables a NOS honda, it has period correct shorty levers, new Pro taper grips, side pull throttle and a new kill button. all bolts are new and stainless with stainless locknuts throughout. All axles and other hardware have been zinc plated back to original. Inside the uncracked air box is a new UNI Air filter. This bike runs and handles great, weight has been shaved off the bike wherever possible and it feels very nimble. It is very tight and feels like new. This is my 2003 Honda CR125R that I purchased in 2004 with very little time on it. I rode it for about three years on and off and put about 30 hrs on it before taking it apart in 2008 to do a rebuild. Time got away from me and the project just got finished up this year. I just don't have time to ride it anymore and I am moving so it's time to sell. The following is a list of things done to the bike and it has about 4-5 hrs of trail riding since the full rebuild:Full engine rebuild including new Wiseco crank/bearing/rod assy, new piston, gaskets, ect...V-Force reads FMF full exhaust with ti-shorty mufflerThe frame/swingarm/subframe have all been powdercoated satin black and new bearings installed top to bottom including wheels.New tires/tubesUpgraded to KTM thicker handlebar with barkbusters installed. I'm sure I am missing some stuff but be assured this bike needs nothing and is ready to ride. I have always used Maxima Castor oil and I run it a bit rich to be safe. This is a 1982 CR 125. It is a complete bike but a little bit of a project. Overall it is in amazing shape. The compression is somewhat low and it will only start if push started.It shifts through all the gears fine, clutch works fine. The rear shock has good dampening and does not leak, the linkage is not all sloppy either. The water pump area does show some corrosion but is usable. It has Evans waterless coolant in it. Th bad... the a previous owner apparently liked the color black and spray painted the frame and even the spokes. (YUCK!) I have not attempted to remove the paint. It has the following new parts: 1) left and right DC Plastics side panels 2) DC Plastics front number plate 3) New Moose bars 4) new grips 5) New aftermarket aluminum radiators. 6) New rear tire ( wear from a few zips up my dead end street ) I would be happy to show this bike in person if requested. It is located in Baldwinsville, NY 13027. It would make and excellent easy restoration project OR with a little TLC a great trail bike. It is NOT a museum piece. These last-generation aluminum frame CR 2 smokers and the best and last Honda 2 stroke made and they represent the pinnacle of Honda 2 stroke performance and reliability. The turning and suspension characteristics are nothing short of stellar and the tried-and true engine has all the over-rev and roosting power you would expect....all that with predictable Honda workmanship, fit and finish. Recently bored from 125cc(54mm) to 139cc(57mm) and ported for more torque/hp. Brand new red chain & sprockets-zero hours ride time. New Mototassinari Vforce3 reeds. New full FMF pipe(with dent-see pics) & shorti silencer(for more torque). I also have a longer FMF silencer(for more hp) that was only used once that I will sell for an additional $100 if interested. Clean/clear title plus manual included-buyer pays title transfer fees(if transfer is desired). This bike is very light & fast & has a suspension that rides & handles like a dream.
