For all its kitsch appearance, the Voyager is a convincing rival visually.Where many bikes fail in taking on Harley, however, is in matching other qualities of the troubled Milwaukee marque. To be convincing, the Voyager must be an effective tourer and have a good stab at matching the less easily defined qualities that have persuaded more than 50 per cent of big-bike buyers in the States to buy Harley-Davidsons.Some of the detailing will be given nods of approval, such as the white-on-black, simple serif script on the clocks, the chunky chrome ignition switch and of course the overall look of the big V-twin engine, which looks air-cooled even though there's liquid and a tucked-away radiator.But when it comes to feel, the Voyager isn't quite there. The top box, for example, is made of flimsy plastic with cheap catches that were already rusting on my test bike, while the lock wouldn't defeat a nine-year-old. The panniers are of similar quality and out of place on a near-£14,000 motorcycleThe gearchange is too far in the other direction, with a very heavy feel. The clutch's biting point is vague, making tight manoeuvres harder work than they need be, while the engine lacks the rawness of a Harley. That's a difficult criticism to make (many riders would find the smoother Kawasaki preferable) but for me the essence of Harley is the balance between crudeness and sophistication.Like a Harley, the Voyager's top gear is overdrive-tall, poviding a relaxed feel at motorway speeds. But the height of the unadjustable screen cuts right across the field of vision for taller riders such as myself. Even if you are able to look through it, there's no way of clearing rain drops from it – with a layer of winter road sludge, forward visibility is going to be a real issue.If you can see over the top, there's a relentless vibrating turbulence at anything over 80mph, and since the riding position could well induce backache, longer distances can become more tiring than they should. The seat pushed me too far forward, while the forward footboards didn't allow me to take any weight through my legs.There's plenty of Harley-type equipment, including a radio with ambient sound compensation which is surprisingly clear even at high speeds, although it lacks RDS station recognition which is almost universal these days. There are no rear speakers though, the sound is a lot less clear for the pillion. The passenger's legs rub on the bike's paintwork, too, although it's a comfortable place to be. I'm not keen on the radio buttons elbowing the horn push out of its usual place, while the equally busy right switch cluster includes cruise control, which is useful if sometimes jerky when it engages.As with a Harley, there's a lot of heat coming off the engine. This will be welcome in winter but too much, I suspect, on hot summer days.The bike handles well; neutral right down to walking pace and very stable at high speeds – not like a Harley, for once, and all the better for that. However the underdamped suspension can bounce you around on rougher roads, while the 4.4-gallon tank means that you'll need to worry about refuelling after only 150 miles, despite the Harley-beating 40mpg the bike returns.What you get on the Kawasaki is a consistency of quality that Harley still struggles with. The finish and detailing are to a high standard generally (luggage aside) and you know you won't start seeing major components corrode as soon as you roll it out of the showroom. I am selling a Taylar Cycles board track racer tribute cycle. It was just finished 6-12-2015. (Still awaiting some brass pieces which will be installed prior to pick up/shipping) This cycle is what is for sale. I do not have any parts or take orders for custom builds. Please contact Taylar Cycles directly for custom builds. If you are in the market for a Board Track Racer there are many choices. Tribute builds (made to emulate or look similar) are available everywhere and the price range for a decent one is about 4-8 thousand. There are a few "replicas" (not found on ebay) which range from 42-60 thousand. (We wont even mention the cost of a real one :) If you are looking at getting one of these for the look and do not intend to "ride" it save yourself the money and buy one of the others that started out as a $150 Walmart bicycle and have about $275 in cheap parts and a pretty paint job and stickers. They go for $1200-$2500 typically. Some look amazing. You are paying for the Artist's work, not a cycle that performs well on the road. My goal is to sell this. However, I will be more than happy to talk to you and answer any questions to help you make the right choice. (Even if not to buy this) If you are looking at getting one of these for the look and do not intend to "ride" it, save some money and buy one that was made from a Walmart bicycle. Some of them look really good. Taylar Cycles are made 100% from raw material. EVERYTHING used is the best. Thick wall steel, polished/plated parts, nuts/bolts graded for the vibrations, Sealed bearings, laser cut parts and the highest quality welds. Frame, Fork, Tank, Oilers, Toolbox, Dropouts all custom and done for the build. (Not bicycle) Wheels are built from relaced hubs for motorized use. Tires are diamond tread 26 x 2.35 with thorn resistant tubes. Chains used are for motorcycles. Front/Rear drum brakes, not a coaster brake intended to stop a 30 lb bicycle. Powered by a Honda GC160 4 stroke motor (no mixing fuel) that have been fabricated/dressed to look a little more correct and pretty. Special brass velocity stack, knurled fuel/oil/starter pulley. Torque converter with polished mounts and sealed bearings (no shifting). Very reliable and easy to operate. Sound is deep and thumps like the originals. Doesn't sound like a chainsaw. Much torque and can get you to 45-50 MPH regardless of your weight (Unless your 500lbs) These builds take 8-12 weeks to produce. No waiting on this one, she's ready to be picked up in Riverside, Ca or you can have her shipped to you. Honda's line of Shadows are some of the most popular cruisers on the road. Thoroughly modern performance is courtesy of the 1099cc V-twin engine, specially tuned for low-revving torque, and maintenance-reducing features like a shaft driven final drive. Best of all, the Spirit is a huge bargain, giving you a big-bike ride without the big-bike price. It also pays when it comes time to fill up, too. Great overall performance while still staying very fuel efficient. If you're ready to turn some heads in a big way, and appreciate a bike that's never going to go out of style, the Honda Spirit is the machine for you. Condition: This bike is in great condition and comes 100% ready to ride right out of the showroom. It has 13,803 miles. The engine is perfect and fires immediately. It revs perfectly and runs great with no misses, noises, leaks, or smoke. The wheels look great and the tires still have plenty of tread left. Not much to say on condition. It looks very nice with a couple of minor blemishes on the front fender. At the very front of the fender, there's three small scratches, one on the right side, one on the left side, and one right in the center. We have even provided pictures below so that you can see exactly what they look like. They are purely cosmetic and do not affect any function of this bike. Other then the fender scratches, this machine is very nice and seems to have been well care for and maintained. Someone is going to get a GREAT machine for a great price. Everything on it functions exactly as it should. A new 2016 Honda Sabre or Stateline (Honda canceled the Shadow 1100 in 2008 after a 23yr run) would cost you $9999 plus tax and fees.
