RAZOR SHARP AGILITY. A completely new 250cc DOHC engine has been designed to perfectly match the new generation chassis. All internal components have been revised and repackaged in order to reposition the engine within the new chromoly steel frame, shifting the mass closer to the centre of gravity of the motorcycle. In combination with the shorter and lighter carbon fibre rear subframe, revised 4CS fork, new shock, new rear link and shorter exhaust, the new FC 250 has enormously improved handling, manoeuvrability and performance compared to the previous generation. 2016 Husqvarna FC 450, Map switch and launch control As in previous model years, the MY16 motocross range features a standard handlebar map switch. For MY16, on the 4-strokes, the map switch now also activates launch control. With the engine at idle, launch control is engaged by switching once between the selected map and the alternative map, and then back again. When the fuel injection LED flashes, launch control is engaged. This function limits the amount of power to the rear wheel for approximately two seconds, improving traction and preventing loss of control under hard acceleration. New engine management system The new Keihin EMS is smaller, lighter and faster at processing data. It integrates launch control for perfect starts and selectable engine maps via the switch on the handlebar. Combined with the new gear sensor, power delivery can be tailored for each gear. Engine maps can be personalised according to rider preference with the optional Husqvarna accessories tool. New 44 mm throttle body The diameter of the throttle body remains the same as the previous model year at 44 mm; however, the injector has been repositioned in order to optimise flow into the combustion chamber. By eliminating the throttle linkage and directly mounting the throttle cables, overall throttle body weight has been reduced by 100 g while also providing more immediate throttle response and feeling. New electric start and Li-Ion battery The new electric starting system, standard on all 4-strokes, is more efficient and 150 g lighter and, combined with the new compact Li-Ion battery, saves over 1 kg in overall weight. The wiring harness has been optimised so that the rear subframe can be removed without having to remove any wiring. New crankshaft The new crankshaft features 10 % more inertia and has been repositioned 9 mm backwards and 7 mm higher. The higher inertia increases traction and rideability while the new position within the engine contributes to mass-centralisation. A plain big end bearing and two force-fitted bearing shells ensure maximum reliability and durability, guaranteeing long service intervals of 100 hours. New CNC machined triple clamps The black-anodised CNC machined triple clamps feature a new top clamp that integrates a rubber damping system that reduces vibrations, therefore increasing comfort. The triple clamps have been meticulously designed to evenly distribute the clamping force on the fork leg, maximizing contact area for optimal sensitivity and minimum friction. Handlebar position adjustability has been maintained for MY16. Magura hydraulic clutch The FC 450 now features a new Magura hydraulic clutch system. The high quality German-made clutch system guarantees even wear, almost maintenance-free operation and perfect modulation in every condition. This means that play is constantly compensated so that the pressure point and function of the clutch r

2016 Husqvarna FE 501, Rear link Now in its third year of development, the rear linkage on the Husqvarna enduros has proven itself as the optimal choice for all riding styles and levels of rider ability. The versatile system performs well on the widest variety of terrain, from tight and technical trails, to wide open, high-speed tracks. The high level of comfort guaranteed by our linkage system allows riders to tackle rough terrain with optimal feeling and traction in every condition. New rear shock setup The high performance DCC (Dual Compression Control) rear shock made by WP has a revised setup and has been re-valved to match the geometry and setup changes on the front-end. The new setup features improved damping characteristics and balance. The high performance DCC (Dual Compression Control) rear shock is designed by WP Performance Systems; it guarantees excellent damping characteristics, ensuring maximum feedback and comfort. The shock is completely adjustable for rebound and high/low speed compression damping. New 22 mm front axle Detail improvements and optimisation on the MY16 enduro bikes are based on the updated front end where a new 22 mm front axle with specific fork shoes replaces the previous 26 mm axle. The new axle is lighter, and the shoes have shorter offset and increased trail, for more stability and better front-end feel. 22 mm offset triple clamp The CNC machined triple clamps on all the bikes now feature a 22 mm offset. The resultant reduction in trail balances the increased trail due to the new front axle and fork shoes, for optimal balance between agility and stability. The triple clamps are made of high quality materials, precisely machined and anodised in deep black, and are designed to evenly distribute the clamping force on the fork leg, maximising contact area for optimal sensitivity and minimum friction. Accurate flex has been designed into the triple clamps, perfectly complementing the fork, and transferring detailed information to the rider. Ergonomics play a major role in rider feeling and confidence, so the handlebar can be adjusted in 4 different positions to adapt to a wide variety of riders. Engine The single overhead cam 510.4 cc 4-stroke engine of the FE 501 has a bore of 95 mm and a stroke of 72 mm. Lightweight, DLC coated rocker arms actuate two lightweight 38 mm, 32 g titanium intake valves and two 33 mm, 42 g steel exhaust valves. Peak power of 58 hp is easily accessible thanks to the linear power delivery. Updated DDS clutch The DDS (damped diaphragm steel) clutch system is featured on the FE 501 to achieve smooth clutch action and easy control. A single diaphragm steel pressure plate is used instead of coil springs. It integrates a damping system for better traction and durability. The clutch basket is a single-piece CNC machined steel component that allows the use of thin steel liners and contributes to the narrowness
