I have for sale a KLR 650 for sale with 5026mi, nothing wrong with bike, bought 4mo ago, thought I wanted a change of pace on bike type but decided I like the standard street bike style better. Mileage will vary slightly as I do drive bike a couple times a week to work. Front and rear tires almost new, chain and sprockets in great shape. Comes with engine guards (not attached) and highway pegs, and Clymer repair manual. Never taken off road and always garaged (since I have owned it). Light scuffs on bike as seen in pictures. Clean title. Only thing bike needs is someone who wants to drive her on a daily basis. $4000 obo. Cash or bank cashiers check only. It's a beauty!!!This is all numbers matching machine including the frame, frame badge and the motor. Miles appear to be original to the bike. This bike is pretty original with accessories that every BMW enthusiast will appreciate like engine crash bars, Denfeld solo seat complemented with the Pagusa in the back (stock factory setup). Bike comes with 2 ignition keys, original owners manual and Shop Manual. I can help to arrange the shipping of the bike to lower 48 states on buyers expense $350-$650 depending on the destination location. I use Uship.Recent service included following:* Change of all top end seals and gaskets, (big job),* New drive shaft boot, new screws and lock washers,* Everything torqued to specs, * Valves adjusted, * Fluids all changed, * New Air Filter Installed* New Exhaust Headers from Vech installed including the cross pipe,* New Solo Seats Installed, * New Switch Harness installed, * NOS tires installed, * Timing set, Bike runs and rides excellent and needs nothing. I rode this bike and shifted all 4 gears. It was a pleasure. This extraordinary machine usually starts in three kicks or less if you follow the procedure correctly. Electrical components all work as intended including the horn. Front and rear brakes are fully functional as well. Clean title in hand. "The BMW R 69 S VIN 658506 was manufactured on February 10th, 1964 and delivered on February 14th, 1964 to the BMW importer Butler & Smith in New York City. The bike was equipped with a bench seat." The BMW R69S, produced from 1960 to 1969, was BMW’s sport bike of its day. With 42 horsepower, it was by far the most powerful bike BMW made at the time. You had to pay to play ($1,564 in 1966), but that extra money bought you one of the most prestigious motorcycles available in the day. This is one of my favorite motorcycles of the 1960’s. But I’ll leave the explanation of why that is to Cycle World, who put it best in a 1962 review: "Whatever the BMW’s merits in a contest of speed, it is still the smoothest, best finished, quietest and cleanest motorcycle it has ever been our pleasure to ride. To be honest, we think that anyone who would worry much over its performance-potential is a bit of a booby. The R69S is fast enough to handle any encounter, and it has attributes that are, in touring, infinitely more valuable than mere speed. All things considered, if we were planning a two-wheel style vacation/tour, the BMW would have to be our choice of mount." I am a motorcycle fan and collector. This motorcycle is for Beemer Lovers and sports enthusiastic. Here is the History of this Police Beemer. This Police special was in service in NJ used for parade and selective escort services by the town administration. The motorcycle has excellent service records and was maintained as per the beemer's bible by the BMW dealership. The town fireman opted for this police model with his retirement package. As the luck would have it he won a Raffle ticket with a high end Motorcycle and decided to sell this baby. The gentleman from whom I purchased this motorcycle couple of years back is 83 years old was the next owner. This previous owner sold this beauty to me, rode for sometime and because of his advancing age decided to sell and I purchased from him. I was targeting for a specific sport event in Asia where I want to take this beauty,participate fully decorated..Therefore I turned NUT and did the following on this Motorcycle. 1. Took the motorcycle to BMW dealership at Arlington. They examined from bumper to bumper. One mirror was replaced as it showed some hairline cracks.Some hardware was replaced with ss factory replacements. 2. The second Police battery was removed by the previous owner to make the motorcycle light. I replaced both the batteries with factory GEL and installed the police battery. 3. I requested the dealership to change all fluids which they did including the filters. 4. I removed the radio box and some police lights as I needed the pillion rider as my Navigator on the event. 5. I retained the police chrome engine and rear side chrome bars trimming the rear section of the police bars ( see the photograph) 6. I installed a garmin 2820 GPS (BMW Navigator 3)which has Bluetooth as well as out put jack for voice guidance. 7. Arrangements for iphone setup and wired circuits for charging the same. 8. Installed VDO volt meters for both motorcycle & Police batteries. 9 Opted for a BMW tank bag and rear trunk with rider support pad. 10.Installed a "SURE FOOT" pad for the kick stand importing the same from Germany. 11.Installed pillion rider seat 12.Opted for new set of low SARGENT saddles for rider and pillion rider. ( This has less than 200 miles on them) 13.Escort radar detector installed on the LH side of the handlebar. 14.Mount for Camcorder on RH side of the handlebar. The police model is equipped with additional features which are not in the standard RT model marketed by BMW. Essentially the differences are: A .Additional oil coolers B. Additional Battery and wiring circuits. C. Anti rolling kick stand. D. High out put Alternator. E. Additional lights and special circuits. F.More accurate speedometer and higher final drive ratio gear box. ( for more details please refer the specification on BMW R 1150 RT-P in the web page) The motorcycle comes with heated grips and additional PIAA driving lights.Both tires and batteries are less than 500 miles on them. The motorcycle carries a valid sticker till 5/31 2016. There is NO implied or expressed warranty. The sale is final and as-is. where-is basis.Pick up is buyer's responsibility. It is a very nice and all serviced up bike. I have notes of the service work that have been performed by the previous owner in 03/1993 and only 500 miles ago. See the last pic for extensive maintenance record. "The BMW R 60/2 VIN 1812208 was manufactured on December 15th, 1966 and delivered on December 16th, 1966 to the BMW importer Butler & Smith in New York City. The bike was equipped with a bench seat." Bike was sold originally in 1967 hence it was titled as 1967 and that was a common practice back in the days. Matching frame, engine, tag and title numbers. It is a very honest bike, one of the nicest riding and looking pre-1970 BMW bikes I have had in my collection. It is all original bike w/o any mods. This bike has been stored in various conditions in its life and it shows. It is quite clean machine, not perfect but a great every day runner. The motor has had a recent top end disassembled, inspected, one helicoil professionally installed at the machine shop for the right side spark plug. New rings were installed, new top end gaskets and seals, torqued back to factory specs. Valves and timing was set, carbs re-adjusted. Clutch and brakes work well, gearbox goes through all 4 gears as it should. Lights, also all work as intended. I disassembled the horn, cleaned but did not get it to work, I will try again but no promises. Bike may need new rear tire as I have noticed some weather cracking, front tire is like new. Starts easily as the cold start video shows, runs and rides excellent! "The Earles Forks and opposing cylinder engine always get a lot of attention." Each tank is hand crafted from scratch using high quality 16 gauge steel. Completely TIG welded and internally seal with a fuel tank sealer that protects the tank from internal rusting for years to come. In most of the U.S.A. these types of bikes are classified by the states DMV, (department of motor vehicles), as "Mopeds". Therefore they DO NOT require title, licensing or even a motorcycle endorsement. However, check with your local DMV to be sure of the laws in your area. A deposit of $300 is due within 24 hrs of auctions end, paid via PayPal to secure your purchase,(Non-refundable). The remaining Balance less the deposit is due within 7 days. Full payment can be made via bank to bank wire transfer, cashiers/certified check or cash in person at pick up. We will also except full payment via PayPal if buyer pays the transaction fees. (reference Paypal calculator online to calculate fees). We will only except Credit card payments in Person at our shop, with proper customer Identification and including an additional transaction fee of 3%. Please note the bike will only be released for shipping and or pick up after full payment has been made and cleared.
