This is an old bike that's in fantastic shape. Recently rebuilt carbs. Dyna S electronic ignition system installed this summer. New battery. New mirrors. New rear signals. New grips. Also a new helmet lock. The bike is in awesome shape and running really well. Everything is in good shape. There are a few scuffs and scratches (may be able to see them in the images) from the bike tipping over with a previous owner. Pretty minor stuff though. I've got some spare parts and an old dented tank (that came along from the previous owner) that you can certainly take as well. The one issue that just came up is with the electric starter. The thing worked great all summer and then just started causing trouble in the last week. There's some grinding and slipping when you engage the electric starter. I suspect it's the starter clutch. I don't think it's a super-difficult job, but I don't have time to take it on at the moment. This only affects the use of the electric starter. All of that said, the kick start works great and there's no problem getting it started the old fashioned way. It's been a fun bike to wrench on and even more fun to ride, but the wife and I are moving cross-country in a few weeks so it's time to sell. I'd love to take it along with me, but I just can't justify the cost to move it.

Up for sale is my 1978 Kawasaki KZ 650B that has 19,530 miles & is basically all original besides the shocks/tires/brakes/oil & others. This bike has all original paint and is VERY nice for the age, no dents in tank or any major blemishes (except for about a 1in scratch on top of tank/front of gas cap) has very light rust inside tank but nothing that needs to be repaired or lined. The seat does not have any rips/cracks & is very nice, exhaust is all original and the right side muffler does have some chrome that has flaked off which is very common on these bikes, the left side has not/does not appear to be flaking anywhere. This bike has electric start & kick start and both work as they should, all instruments work, high/low beams, horn, turn signals, brake light, neutral light and gauge lights. The breaks on bike stop the bike just as they should with no issues or hanging up. Engine runs good & idles at around 950-1050 rpm at an idle as if you know of these bikes they don't idle much lower. Intake boots are in ok shape but seem like they may leak a little and upon starting bike it does smoke for a minute until warmed up which is common on older used motorcycles and may also be a little valve guides/seal leaking from sitting? Overall this KZ 650 is an unmolested beauty that is 38yrs old and all original unlike many others out there. If you have any questions please ask before bidding & I will do my best to answer. 1978 KAWASAKI KZ650, Check this out! 1978 KZ 650 Bobber! Runs great, new battery, tires in good condition, fresh oil change, pod filters. This bike is super neat! Everyone at the shop takes notice. Being that it is from 78, it has some quirks but none that prevent it from being an awesome bike that starts right up everytime. Being hard tailed this bike's rear end is obviously lower to the ground then it was stock. Its quirk is that when starting and (and while turning off) we've found it is in the bikes best interest to be upright. This prevents the gas from accumulating to both of left side carburetors :) Otherwise, this bike is good to go! With regular oil changes and regular ride time we don't see why this bike wouldn't last another 30 years! The Inline four cylinder, double overhead cam engine was truly a marvel in it's time. This is the ancestor of modern day street performance motorcycles. Cool affordable little piece of history with a custom twist.

For sale is a bike I am very fond of. I found it in a garage after having been neglected for 15 years. The changes I made were designed to update the look with cafe racer inspiration and make it a little more aggressive in stance without losing the vintage look and feel. Over the past two years here's a list of the work I've done:Custom rear short fender. New tubes and tires, painted front forks, rear wheel bearings, fork gaiters, rebuilt front and rear brake calipers with new pads, new Nissin front brake master cylinder with lever and stainless steel braided front brake lines, removed old 4-way tree which was awful and now is easier to bleed, has an easier brake pull, added stopping power and electronic brake light signal instead of old pressure switch. New mirrors, new handlebars, new grips, lubed and greased all cables, new front and rear mini bullet blinkers, new mini brake light, new mini speedometer and tach, headlight bulb and wiring, fuses, a lot of new wiring, rebuilt carbs, air filter, spark plugs, coils (over $300), valve job, petcock, fuel sending unit. Built custom bracket for right side to add messenger bag. New springs for rear brake pedal and side stand. Many visible bolts replaced with new stainless allen head bolts for looks and easier and quicker access than 3 sizes of socket wrenches. You can see I left the crash bar on the front because it is an extra safety in parking lots and protects the engine in case of a drop. It's your choice to leave it on. Equipped with side stand and center stand which is super helpful for doing work like lubing chain. All work done by me with factory service manual and proper torque wrenches.The gauges are backlit and have indicators for Neutral, Oil Pressure, blinkers, high beams. Although I abandoned trying to get the low fuel light to work, I left the wire lead there so if you want to try adding an LED to it you could probably figure it out. Actually very easy to do.There is one 1.5" dent on the front left of the gas tank, above the Kawasaki and a few paint chips around the front edge where it meets the steering column. There are a few very small knicks here and there of about 2-3mm. This bike rides amazingly well and I have babied it the whole time I've owned it. Smooth shifting, smooth throttle, solid stopping with the three disc brakes. The only rust is on the under side of exhaust pipes.When I found her she had only 8,500 original miles!! I have put only 800 on her, new speedometer only has 400 miles. The range is about 120+ miles per tank. I usually fill up at 90-100 and reset the trip at fill up. Never crashed or dropped.
