2014 KTM 350 XCF-W, TOP FEATURES DDS CLUTCH: The one-piece basket of the DDS clutch (damped diaphragm steel) is machined from solid high-tensile steel in one solid part together with the primary drive gear. This process guarantees unbeatable reliability and, together with the thin steel linings, contributes to the narrow engine width due to a compact rivet-less design. The diaphragm spring makes it possible to implement an additional rubber damping system inside the clutch hub, ensuring reliability for the transmission and excellent traction. Finally, the hydraulic clutch mechanism by Brembo in conjunction with the diaphragm spring provides a very light clutch operation and controllable modulation. ENGINE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (EMS): The Engine Management System by Keihin with electronic fuel injection via a 42mm throttle body ensures a snappy response and maximum engine performance. An oil-cooled 196 W alternator provides sufficient energy for the fuel injection, lighting and other electrical loads. With an optional map-select switch from the Power Parts program, the EMS can allow the rider to select different engine characteristics. In addition, the optional User-Setting-Tool provides the ability to readout engine data with a laptop and change the ignition and injection mapping with just a few mouse clicks. ENGINE: The 350cc 4-stroke engine with a state-of-the-art electronic fuel injection system offers a very wide power band and is distinguished by a dynamic but fatigue proof power delivery. Features may include: WP SEMI-ACTIVE SUSPENSION The innovative WP semi-active suspension system introduces a new level of comfort and safety in motorcycle riding. The rider can select three spectrums of use: Comfort , Street and Sport , while the SCU (Suspension Control Unit) adapts the damping rates in real-time to the riding surface and rider, based on the information provided by a set of stroke sensors and accelerometers. It also reads the vehicle load, making the suspension suited to different weights. FRAME AND SUBFRAME The laser-cut, chrome-molybdenum steel trellis frame, welded to the highest standards, contributes to excellent chassis geometry. The rear wheel is fitted to an axle that is 50 mm in diameter and bolted in place with a 60 mm central wheel nut. A high-precision, eccentric adjuster is used for tensioning the chain. BRAKES More than adequate deceleration is ensured at the front wheel by the two radially mounted Brembo M50 four-piston Monoblock calipers, actuated by a radial brake pump, each gripping onto floating 320 mm discs.
