1989 KTM EXC250 i pulled the whole motor apart when i got the bike and did new gaskets and seals,I also installed a $500 PVL ignition system.it belonged to a older man who had it as a display in his garage.It wasn't ridden very much it still has the original magura grips.last year for left hand kick.starts right up idles,runs great the only things wrong with it are the handlebars are tweaked alittle and it weeps at the powervalve cover alittle bit, also the front master cylinder isn't original. i have a oem magura one for it just not installed.tires have good tread.Selling off my dirtbike collection, i hurt myself on a three wheeler a few months ago and my knee just isn't the same check out my other auctions. Selling my 1995 KTM 250 EXC with CLEAN AZ Title in hand. Bike has JUST been gone through from the frame up, 99% complete, however financial circumstances have changed and putting any more money into the bike is not an option at this time. Lets start with what needs to be completed. Bike has good spark and lights illuminate when you kick but will not fire unless you pull start and clearly ignition timing is off or stator is going. Selling as is. You may adjust and find it works fine, or find it truly does need a new ignition and you have options. Find replacement SEM parts, or put an upgraded, and more reliable, Kokusan 2K2 KTM ignition on it (yes it fits), complete Powerdynamo Ignition system, or PVL system No. 70133. The Good. Every bearing greased, every nut/bolt replaced or cleaned. I even put a new Kehien AirStriker PWK 38mm carb on from JD Jetting. Purchased from original owner, who raced it one season and won the 1990 SETRA 250A enduro title. Set up and maintained at Barry Higgins' KTM shop (Douglasville, GA), where I bought it in '91 for the occasional enduro/hare scramble, but mostly trail riding. Garaged in '95 and not ridden for 19 years. Frame-up overhaul in 2014, including new paint, reconditioned pipe, rebuilt shock, brake hydraulics and pads, forks serviced; more recently, complete top-end, including power valve/cylinder service at Eric Gorr's shop in Wisconsin, new Wiseco piston/rings & wrist pin, new gaskets/o-rings, new crank seals, new countershaft seal, Boyeson carbon fiber reeds, new Twin Air filter, new front tire, and an MSR aluminum skid plate (not mounted). Plastic is in good condition; no working lights. Overall, nearly $1,000 invested. Mostly ridden at vintage events since rebuild (AHRMA Modern Support class) . I have all the manuals with many of the KTM tech notices, and a small collection of spare gaskets. The EXC is still a blast to ride, starts on first kick, but I had to have something with that magic handlebar button. A fast, solid, fun bike. (I just bought a new 250 XC-F and now officially have too many bikes, says my wife - I also have an '86 250 MXC project bike). This item is located in Washington, Georgia. I purchased this excellent KTM in 2006 and have maintained it 'as good' or 'better' condition. Unfortunately I have not been able to ride as planned and my riding usage became nil for several years. Nonetheless it has been well taken care of as follows. Front and rear suspensions have very little riding time since fully serviced by Enduro Engineering. Suspension has factory settings as far as spring rates and valving (average weight rider).Installed new Rekluse RMS135 auto-clutch (has estimated less than 10 hours use) and works properly. This setup maintains a normal manual clutch for optional use as well (best of both).Tires and o'ring chain little use since installed.New 'low riding' GUTS grip seat; very comfortable. Original seat like new and comes with bike.FMF Gold Series pipe and Pro-Circuit 296 silencer/spark arrester were new when I purchased the bike and are flawless still.JD Jetting kit included.Has bung welded into pipe for A/F ratio precision jetting; runs better than new in all ranges (owners opinion).Carburetor, fuel tank & air filter recently cleaned - new base o’rings in carb.New shut-off valve and fuel tank screen.New rear brake shoes.Lighting operates properly.Service/parts/operational manual included.
