Make us an offer!! You never know!! This listing is for a beautiful and well cared for last year Kawasaki KZ900 B1. This is a great candidate for a restoration and a welcome addition to any collection. It runs great, shifts well and is almost 100% complete and overall original including the paint. It is missing three items that I know of: the front fork emblem trim, the air box snorkel extension under the seat and the high/low beam switch button. The high/low beam switch does work as do all other electrics: the charging system, headlights, tail light, brake light, turn signals and horn. All mechanical operations are functional; the front and rear brakes, clutch, transmission shifts smooth in all gears. One issue is that while the tachometer works, it does not return to zero. The more we ride this bike, the tach seems to be working better. This bike is fast,fast, fast!! Clear title in hand. At some time, the top end has had some work as the cam end plugs are not original. In the pictures you will see that the cam end plugs have the Kawasaki "K" logo machined in them. Please look at the pictures carefully and ask any questions you may have. MAKE US AN OFFER!! YOU NEVER KNOW!! 1981 Kawasaki KZ1000. The pictures tell the best story of this bike so please look at all of them and you can see how nice this bike is overall. Perfect candidate for a restoration or a survivor as is. Let's start with what the bike needs. It needs a horn switch. The lens on the tach is cracked. The speedometer needle is loose. Not the best paint job or seat cover. Now for the good. The previous owner of this bike owned it for 12 years. He had the motor completely and professionally redone in 2003 by Exoticycle Motor Sports in Sarasota, Florida at a cost of almost $4000. It is built to the hilt and runs super strong, super fast!! The motor has about 10,000 miles on it according to our documentation. Frame has been powder coated. He also added a rack of Mikuni RS-34 radial flat slide carbs at a cost of $900. We have additional receipts of over $600 for brake kits, fork seals, chain and head stem bearings. You can see all these receipts in the DropBox. Don't have a receipt for the 4 into 1 Vance & Hines header but that's what it has. Tires are in great shape. Battery is about 3 months old. Tank has been lined in the past and the liner is in good shape. If you are looking for a mechanically sound and super fast KZ1000 this is it. A paint job, a seat cover, a detail and a few minor repairs listed above and this bike would take this bike to the next level!! And it runs fast fast!! It runs great, shifts great and has no oil leaks. All electricals work as they should except the horns. It does need a horn switch.
