2006 Vento VThunder 250cc motorcycle. I am the third owner to my knowledge and purchased bike from a relative at around 1900mi. Over all it is mechanically sound and runs well. Being a small bike it will struggle to keep up with interstate traffic averaging 55mph to 60mph and it's light weight (approx. 350lbs.) is noticeably affected by high winds and air current from traffic at high speeds. Tires are good and have not had issues aside from the normal pressure fluctuation due to temperature changes in the weather. It has not been ridden since last fall aside from the occasional ride around the neighborhood to keep things free and lubricated mechanically. I normally would get around 60mpg +/- but this was primarily highway travel. I have not known it to burn or leak oil but has dripped excess oil from the chain where it collects at the crank case a few times. The fuel tank is around 3.5 gal. I am not certain of the exact size and that does include the reserve space. whats NEW: ** spark plugs replaced at 2500mi. there were no issues, I felt the need to replace them due to age not condition ** mirrors replaced when purchased, one was previously damaged ** gas cap replaced due to malfunctioning lock on original ** chain replaced at 3200mi. The rollers on original chain were breaking apart. I presume this is due to the previous owners not being familiar with chain maintenance, proper tension, and age. ** driving lights replaced due to originals having loose sockets and not retaining the bulbs in place ** front turn signals had similar issue, the bulbs have been replaced with large single bulb amber LEDs the BAD news: ** the shifter linkage is loose and has some play but still shifts properly, it appears to be a worn bushing of some sort but does not seem to cause any issues aside from the extra travel in the pedal when shifting. ** the patch shown on the seat is repairing a stitched seam in the original seat covering which had split apart ** the front brake rotor is warped and is quite unpleasant to use, the rear brake is fine and quite usable I do not have the circumstances to continue the necessary maintenance and the bike is taking up needed storage space for the upcoming cold season. For someone who is able to take care of the rotor this makes a great starter/learners bike and excellent for town/city use. If you have the nerve it does well on the highway but wont keep up with traffic and the wind/air can blow you around. The sale is near Springfield, Illinois and I can deliver to the immediate surrounding area within reason if needed. Otherwise the buyer will have to come pick it up. SALE IS FINAL
