1971 Bugetta dune buggy built by Indy car builder and mechanic Jerry Eisert. approximately 8 Bugettas are known to exist. this one has its metallic blue original gel coat, original interior, original empi gauges, original ansen 10 inch front and 12 inch rear wheels with knock off spinners (wheels are bolt on). the corvair flat 6 starts perfectly, and runs very strong. exhaust headers are straight pipes, so it is loud and probably will get you a ticket! I have a set of super trap mufflers that could be adapted for use to tone it down. but honestly, this thing is bad ass as is! the vw trans was rebuilt completely. The buggy has been completely re plumbed and re-wired with the best materials available. front suspension is modified vw. The buggy has a custom made aluminum engine cover, and the original 4 carb air cleaner fits underneath with the air horns protruding forward. car handles very well. sits very low to the ground. comes with original tonneau cover. The seats and covering material are all original and were done by Ted's aircraft interiors (as a lot of dune buggies were back then) Has Ted's sticker on the rocker panels along with the Eisert Racing Enterprises (ERE) sticker as well on both sides. Has SCCA Formula 5000 stickers on the rocker panels (original stickers, not later reproductions). the tub is monocoqcue (aluminum panels riveted together) (it is not a VW pan!) and is the only dune buggy to ever be made with this very expensive to fabricate method. Eisart worked on Indy cars and Can-Am racing cars during the late 60s-early 70s and was influenced so much that the Bugetta benefited from this advanced tub technique. the buggy comes with lots of paperwork and documentation that I acquired from the family of Jerry Eisart, including business card, stickers (all original), articles, photos of ads for the Bugetta, photos of his indy cars, etc. also comes with two magazines with road tests and articles. there is a DVD that the family gave me which shows his orginal Bugetta, a second version, and a "sports racer" dune buggy, of which one was made. also, some color shots of other Bugettas that he built. while this buggy is expensive it is priced at less than what I have invested in it, not including my time! without a doubt the finest dune buggy ever built. clear California title. has California special construction tag as well as the Eisert manufacturing tag (both are metal). if you are in the market for a classic "race car" dune buggy this is it. Very rare to find one of these, and harder to find in all original condition.
