Up for sale is one of my low mileage 2009 XR 1200's (I have 3) I really don't need to sell this, but need the room. Most people don't know much about these bikes and think they are just a sportster because it has sportster written on the cam cover. The block letters on the cam cover is part of the tribute to Harley's racing heritage. The letters and silver engine were on the first sportsters produced in 57. The tail section, handlebars and tank are from XR 750 flat track racing. The bike you see now is a combination of all the years and set up for road racing with inverted forks and aluminum swing arm, but street legal. The engine is as follows from the factory: Heads & rockers only on XR's Road race grind cams 10:1 compression pistons Ram air Dellorto downdraft fuel injection Racing clutch Internal oil pump 91 HPThis is how they come out of the box new. The one I have for sale is exactly this, nothing has been changed about it, and it has a nice set of sticky Michelin tires. If you really want to feel the motor and sound like it should be on a track, you could put a set of Vance and Hines black widow exhaust on it as I have on the one I ride. There were only 1220 of these made in orange for 09 and a few in 10 from left over painted parts. I have been factory certified for 36 yrs., I went over the bike and checked everything out, it is in top shape and ready to go. sold as is.The true color is best seen in the last picture of the tank. -Thanks
