I am finally letting go of my beloved, awesome, badass bike. I rode it from San Diego to Seattle on the PCH. I rode it to Sturgis. I rode it all over the Northwest. And now....I don't ride it. We're having a baby and I have to accept the fact that I will not be strapping an infant onto the sissy bar. The FXDXT is a rare model, only manufactured for a few years. It was created to be a hybrid sport-touring bike. Handles like a dream in the curves and comfortable on the long haul. I no longer have the windshield and faring (long story) but then again, on the aforementioned trips I never used it anyway. The expanding saddlebags are awesome, and I do have the rain covers for those. I bought this bike in 2007 with 2800 miles on it, now it's about to hit 20K. The guy who owned it before me had it lowered a couple of inches because he was a wee little man, and he also put Screamin Eagle pipes on it. I love the low center of gravity and my short legs can reach the ground (I'm 5'6"). Color is Jade Sunglo Pearl. It has a few knicks and scratches in the paint from things like a rock strike, or strapping gear too close to the fender on a cross-country. It has forward pegs (not forward controls) for the highway, and passenger pegs. Nice sissy bar with comfortable passenger seat. Has always been garage stored, with the exception of one year in a carport (garage with no door). For the past 2 years I've been living near the ocean, so the salt air has started to do its work on the chrome in a few places. 88 cu/in engine (1450 cc), regular maintenance done mostly at the dealership, and I still have all the records. This spring I had my first and only problem with running the bike. I was having trouble getting it to start and stay running. Thought it was bad gas but what actually happened was the oil pump bypass valve was somehow stuck in the open position and oil wasn't circulating properly so I was getting a low pressure shutoff. I had a high volume oil pump put in, and while we were in there, I also got new hydraulic cam lifters, push rods, and cams. As a result it's running better than ever right now. I have the original owners manual and a manufacturer's maintenance manual that of course will throw in for free. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
