The Touring frame, triple clamps, swingarm, engine mounts, exhaust system, rear fender, wheels and tires where redesigned, and together provide the foundation for what is truly one of the finest long haul motorcycles. The key styling elements including the front end, 6 gallon fuel tank and hard saddlebags, are essentially unchanged. Ride quality is super smooth, while the maneuverability is extremely precise and responsive. Forming the core of this Road King chassis is the new frame with a single-spar, rigid backbone designed to sustain the demands of the long haul touring. This frame provides a strong foundation that supports a 70 pound increase in carrying capacity. The frame is engineered to be manufactured with the latest coordinated motion robotic welding process, which offers outstanding dimensional accuracy and weld quality. The frame design resulted in a 50 percent reduction in parts, and a 50 percent reduction in the total length of welds. T-studs were eliminated, and the components of the new frame were joined with cast and forged node-tube joints. The tail section improves the fit and finish of the rear area of the motorcycle through more-precise alignment of the rear fender over the rear wheel and the swingarm is formed with a two-piece, deep-drawn shell with a forged pivot section. This redesigned swingarm contributes significantly to the overall system. The engine-isolation system has also been revised, resulting in reduced engine and vehicle vibration at idle speed. The system replaces a single front isolator with twin front isolators with a single tie link. The front and rear mounts are designed to provide optimal balance between stiffness and isolation, and are very durable. Finally, asymmetric snubbers provide improved control of the clearance between the engine and frame during extreme bump events. The wheel-and-tire combination plays a key role in the responsive performance this Touring chassis. Front wheel diameter is increased to 17 inches from 16 inches, while the width of the 16-inch rear wheel is increased to five inches from three inches. The 28-spoke cast aluminum wheels were designed using finite element analysis for maximal stiffness with minimal weight. The wider rear wheel accommodates a new 180/65-16 rear tire that is wider and has a lower aspect ratio than the MU85B16 tire it replaces. Up for sale is my absolute dream bike, customized from top to bottom and fresh back from a complete $1,600 service (belts, valves, new clutch pack, fluids, brakes, EVERYTHING) as well as a few more mods (blacked out rads, installed custom road racing front fender, cleaned up license plate area with a new custom low profile bracket). This bike has had two full valve services in its short life on the road and is the best running Duc I've ever owned. This is the LAST of the four valve monsters Ducati ever made. This is and had been my favorite motorcycle ever, period. Ducati still used the softer, rounded lines and full trellis frame until the newer style in 2008/2009. I've just never been a fan of the new monster. This Duc boasts the powerful 998 Testastretta L-twin engine, full adjustable front and rear Ohlin suspension (not available on any other monster model) VERY LOW miles at 11,xxx on the ODO, clean title in my possession. Bike needs NOTHING for another 10,000 miles. Tires are 90% or better. I have all of the factory body work and fairings which effectively gives you two complete color schemes for the Ducati. All manuals, key card, both black ignition keys and red programming key come with the bike. I have every service record and almost every reciept for parts/custom labor since birth. She's been a garage queen and on a trickle charger her whole life, never been down, never seen rain. I will also include front and rear pitbull bike stands!!!
