It pains me to write this. This bike is my baby and has given me 20K miles of unbelievable experiences. I am the second owner and the bike now has 43,000 miles. Just recently, I put 120 miles on it through rural Vermont including the Champlain Islands. Unfortunately, I have developed a medical condition which is forcing me to sell it. I have a nerve issue in my thigh that is exacerbated by riding. This was confirmed again on my ride today so I need to stop. My loss is your gain. This particular bike is ready for a long haul trip to Yukon or as a reliable daily commuter. About the modelThe Caponord is a versatile adventure touring bike that is equally competent cruising highways at high speed, carving turns on mountain passes, and riding dirt logging trails. Similar to a BMW GS, the Caponord is more nimble because it is only 1000cc vs 1200cc. The bike has a bombproof Rotax v-twin engine that is rock solid making 98 horsepower with 71.5 ft/lbs of torque into a 6-speed transmission and a chain drive. It has switchable ABS. It is plenty fast and super fun to ride. It has a substantial fairing and handguards so it can be comfortable to ride in cold and rain. About this particular bikeI am the second owner and purchased the bike with 20K on it. It has been serviced regularly by authorized Aprilia dealers and performs as expected. It has never been crashed or laid down. I have had zero mechanical issues with it. It has the stock exhaust and is the desirable black color. I trust this bike to never let me down and have ridden it to the top of Mount Washington NH, Whiteface NY, Bailey Island, and Moosehead Lake, Maine. I took it to Finland when I lived there and did a 1800 mile trip to the top of Norway to Nordkapp, the origin of the Caponord name. Three weekends ago, I took my 76 year old Aunt on a ride to Rangeley, Maine. Needless to say, I have great confidence in the machine and trust it completely. ConditionI have taken great care of this bike and had it serviced regularly through Aprilia Authorized dealers. The 40K mile service was done on 1/22/2015. Tires are class leading Michelin Pilot Road 3 Trail tires, a 90/10 tire that is ultra grippy on tarmac and very good in the wet. They are in good shape and certainly will last through this season. Rear tire was replaced 7/2014 at 37,800mi. Brakes are great. Front and rear rotors and pads were replaced with OE original Brembos 3/2012 at 26,500mi. Pads have been changed since. Chain and cogs are in good shape and were replaced 7/2012 at 29,800 miles. Chain tension and lube are regularly checked. I just had the Vermont state inspection done on 8/26 and it is ready for another year of riding. Cosmetics: this bike is in great shape but it has been ridden and shows signs of use: There are a few minor scratches on the tank, some on the foot brake reservoir, some paint chipping on the clutch reservoir (as expected), some rust on spoke tips, a scratch on the left pannier (see photo), wear on left hand grip, wear on footpeg extensions, and minor wear on each pannier from aggressive cornering. Be sure to check the photos. UpgradesI have worked hard to make this bike my own and it comes with some great upgrades: $500 E52 Givi Box and attachment rack$500 Custom Saddlemen Adventure Track Seat$350 LED driving lights$200 Givi windshield and laminar lip (I also have the stock windshield)$550 Hepco and Becker frame guards$150 Heated grips with hazard light switch (the hazard switch does not work)$100 hard wired for a Garmin Zumo$75 K+N air filter$150 Marsee expandable tank bag All told, there are close to $2750 in upgrades here. It also comes with a spare kickstand switch and headlight light bulb (two things to never be without). ServicingThe authorized Aprilia dealer Seacoast in NH will pick the bike up for servicing for only a fee of $20 each way. I used the service twice for my routine maintenance. They came to my house and loaded the bike in a Sprinter van, serviced the bike at the dealership in NH, and then returned it in the Sprinter. This makes owning the Caponord, even without a local dealer, very easy! TransportingI have a trailer and am willing to help with getting the bike to within three hours of Burlington, VT. Also, I live 10 minutes from the Burlington airport (BTV) and am happy to meet you there. Riding in Vermont is wonderful so you could make picking up your bike the start of a Northern New England road tour: Whiteface, NY is 2 hours away. Mount Washington is 2.5 hours. Bar Harbor Maine is 8 hours. Quebec City is 5 hours. Montreal is 2 hours. PricingKBB has this bike at $5015. Mid point of retail for NADA is $5700. This is a one of a kind Harley Davidson - You will not find another like her -When you ride her its "instant attitude" and that feeling can be priceless - Not going to give this bike away, no rush to sell...this bike brings a ton of attention where ever she goes and is not for the timid rider... details below For Sale: Completely Custom 1999 Harley Davidson Road king (Street King) with 33450 miles, Don't let the year deter you from this Road King - This Road King runs perfectly, there isn't much more you can add to her, lots of money invested into this custom my loss is your gain. Bike really looks much better in person, paint has a ton of depth in the clear and gleams with the tastefully done metal flake in the scallops. The artistry involved with this bike is truly a one off. The entire motor is chromed out as well as many chrome frame parts. The picture featured here on EBay is a photo from the local San Diego "Viclas" calendar, she is Miss February 2017 taken on Coronado Island in San Diego - I will of course include the calendar and many other photos taken of the bike. Handle bars are Paul Yaffe 16" monkey Bars, all the PM brake components are chromed with old school HD white grips which ads to the entire feel of the bike. Front end is chromed with chrome visor package on all lights neccels. All cables are braided. Front wheel is a DNA 21" 60 fat spoke chrome wheel that when in motion looks even better. New front and back Avon white wall tires, custom 4 inch extensions on front fender and rear fender and extended custom hard bags. Pipes are fat Vance and Hines true duals - ECM was replaced and bike was completely mapped - runs amazing. Speedo has the old school face. There is also a siren on the left side of the bike that is run with a toggle on handlebars - very, very UNIQUE Bike has "Dirty Air" brand rear air suspension that works great, switch for the system is located on right side panel. Bike has custom LEDs on frame with FOB 6 different blink modes and 5 colors, front headlight is bright white LED . This bike was built to ride and was never intended to be a garage or trailer queen. However you could park this at any show with tremendous pride. All electrical was done by true professional electricians with quick release connectors throughout the bike to remove bags and fairing assembly - tastefully done. Front fairing: To Change the look or too take the longer rides bike comes with a Custom front detachable fairing with built in front amplifier that controls 4 x4 front speaker system with bluethooth radio, usb. I just keep my iPhone in my pocket and it runs the show via Bluetooth. Music can also be run without fairing, there is a bracket near throttle to hold a IPod with plug in that runs the bag speakers and crash bar speakers so you can have music in either mode which also sounds great with the amp in the bag. Bags in rear contain 2x6 inch HERTZ speakers with additional amplifier that controls rear system with 2x 2 front crashbar 4 inch fostgate speakers. Good condition for its age. This is the deluxe version with extra chrome. Comes with Sissy bar, sissy bar bag, windscreen, saddle bags (pretty worn but still functional), handle bar clock, kuryakyn pegs and brake pedal cover. I just replaced the air filter, spark plugs, cleaned the carburetor (single carb for easy maintenance) and will change the oil this week. New tires and battery last season. Good condition overall with some wear as expected with bike of this age. Garage kept until this past week. Make for an awesome starter bike with a bit more punch than a 250. People also like chopping them up into bobbers. The securing nut on the choke is broken but the choke is still functional. The stickers on the tank were placed by previous owner which I left on since they blended in really well. Looks really good overall but see pictures.
