The R100 was offered in two versions for 1982 through 1984, the Touring and the Sport. Both were to the same specification except that Touring meant standard saddlebags and Sport, CS sport handlebar fairing and lower bars – just like the R90S! Such is the interchangeability of many BMW components some R100s were dealer "enhanced", often effectively changing one model into another at the dealership. Both factory versions weighed close to 481lb wet with a top speed of 110mph. Only 193 R100s reached America's shore in 1984 and by the next model year the new K-model was all the rage and no 1,000c boxer twins were imported. Thus, this R100 is a rare example of BMW's iconic, big air-cooled boxer. Only 37,000 original miles recorded on the odometer and a very nice low mileage original paint one owner motorcycle that has been well maintained and serviced since new.
