1938 Norton Model 16H in outstanding condition. The bike is all original except for tires and foot peg rubbers. This bike was imported from Canada in 1998. I have all the import papers and receipts for all import fee's and tax's paid. The owner before myself inherited the bike from his uncle In 1973. When he moved to buffalo NY in 1998 he brought the bike with him. When his uncle owned the bike He to stored the bike inside his home. The owner before myself filled the gas tank with oil to preserve the tank in 1973. H did a great job preserving this bike. The engine turns over with great compression. This bike will run if the tank is emptied out with oil and you put some gas in it. The bike has 176 original miles on it. You will not find another Norton 16H in this condition I'm sure. There has never been nor do I expect to see another one offered on Ebay. This is not a basket case. This is a complete bike in outstanding condition and extremely rare. I do have the pad that go's on the rear fender and all the brackets. It is a 1928 AJS Model K 350 cc OHV single. Over the years, some things have changed on the engine. This is because my grandfather Jack Branse raced it in England. The front fork has been replaced by a Webb fork of late thirties / early forties. Furthermore, the front wheel is one of a small tweetact from the thirties / forties. The original AJS gearbox has been replaced by a Sturmey-Archer bucket. The hand-shifter on the tank has been replaced by one with foot-shift. The rear frame is reinforced with a third tube running from the rear axle to the bottom of the gearbox. The carburetor looks like an AMAL off a Norton 16H. Originally, AJS still had a Binks carburetor in those years.
